I purchased the complete set of BEAM , SUB and PLAY 1. I believe it is worth every penny spent on them. The ease of installation, configuration and tuning is impeccable. The SONOS app is amazing, intuitive and highly customizable. This system is NOT dolby ATMOS compatible but I the sound is extremely clear, balanced and the SUB is a gem. The complete system synchronizes very well and throughput is will put a smile on your face. Be it be movies or music this smile is going to get wider. The Oomphh factor of the SUB is not rattling yet nicely balanced. You can feel and hear all the small frequencies. The Movie experience is completely different.
Most importantly system is Wifi based so not wire clutter except the power to all systems. I connected my beam through the ethernet cable but rest of the system is configured via WIFI. I have observed any lip sync issues, sound delays or any kind of connection drops between system. Apple play and online streaming services come handy. The last feature of Dialog boost and night mode are recognizable. Stretch a bit and you will not be disappointed at all.

Just bought this thing about a month ago and it is incredible. The base will blow you away. It is about the size of an old desk top PC so make sure you have a space to put it in. Ours fits nicely behind our entertainment cabinet. Watched a movie yesterday downstairs in our family room while my wife was upstairs watching TV in our bedroom and during one of the battle scenes in the movie, my wife came downstairs and said the whole bedroom upstairs shook and she wanted to see if a train had run through our house. That is how powerful the base from this sub woofer is! I am not a technical guy, so I can't tell you about the bits and bytes of this unit, but I do know great base when I hear it and I can tell you that this sub woofer delivers excellently in that area. It is also pretty easy to set up. Pretty much just plug and play. It is also very nice looking and very streamlined, so it won't look ugly or ruin the appearance of your room if you choose to place it somewhere in open view.

While very expensive, the sub sounds great and it mostly easy to set up. it is actually two drivers that face each other and two amplifiers. I paired the sub with a Sonos sound bar in my living room. The sound bar is below my lg oled and the sub is behind my couch. It is loud and for the most part I am leaving it at low settings as it mostly gets used for watching movies. I will turn it up when I just want to listen to music but for the most part it is a member of my home theater. I think adding more speakers at a later time will help balance the room but I will say when playing music between the sound bar and the sub it sounds great, it is full and will shake the room without breaking a sweat. As I said before it is very expensive but I am glad I added it to my ecosystem.

This is actually the second Sonos sub that I have purchased for my home. The bass is tight and packs a lot of punch without overdoing it. It adds so much to existing Sonos speakers and takes up very little room. The set up through the Sonos app is a breeze and takes minutes!

Pros -
Deep, tight bass
Plays LOUD
Easy to integrate into your Sonos system
Easy to hide, good form factor
Premium build quality
Cons -
Works only with Sonos
Some may find the price a bit steep
I have my Sonos Sub paired with 1 Sonos One and 1 Sonos One SL for a stereo pair w/sub. I have the sub located behind a sofa. The setup was easy, assuming you have already set up a Sonos device or two. The sub really fills out the sound of the pair of Ones - it's a huge difference, even at very low listening volume.
Regarding the price - if you are considering buying this, you probably already have some other Sonos products and should already know that they are premium products at premium prices. But if you are committed to the whole-house sound model then you also know that there is no better way to accomplish it than with Sonos.

I purchased the subwoofer as part of a Sonos 5.1 package with the playbar and Play One rear channel speakers. Comparing sound with and without the subwoofer, it makes a great contribution to the overall sound with either music or soundtracks. Comparing carefully with the 2008 Bose Lifestyle 5.1 system it replaced, the bass is deeper and more realistic than the Bose system which was then the best they offered.

Top of the line bass that sounds better then the movies. I had planned out what I wanted to accomplish and that was to make a movie theatre experience in my living room and the bass from this sub over achieves on what I thought was possible to accomplish. The price tag is worth it if you got the cash to shell out. I have this synced up to a sonos playbar and 2 Sonos SL speakers that make the best sound I ever heard. Normally 1,699 I was able to get 30% percent off each item so it came out to a little over 1,200,
Works with Spotify, Apple music and has airplay capabilities. You could mount the speakers or move them all around your house since they are cordless as well as add additional speakers which I plan on. would give more then 5 stars if possible. Sonos just earned a lifetime customer

I was looking for something to use as both surround sound and for music in my house. When I hear the sound quality of sonos in general it’s great, but with the sub it really makes a difference for both movies and music. It’s worth the price and the sub looks cool too. It’s a little bigger than you’d expect, but overall if you’re on the fence, go for it!

Bought this Subwoofer to go with my Sonos Playbar and I looovvveeee it!!! The sound is so powerful, I think I can actually feel the bass when it's playing! I thought it was a bit costly compared to Samsung, which was my budget target range, (and a plus to have both pieces for one price), but listening to the quality, this was a great buy!! It adds soooooo much QUALITY to my movies and music!! It's very easy to setup and the app is a plus. I love that the system can be placed in a nighttime mode to lower louder bass volumes to avoid disturbing others nearby :-D .....The price was well worth it!!

Sonos products are so easy to set up, it’s great to buy tech that works perfect every time. This is a solid performing sub that just happens to look like fine art! All my other subs are located in corners out of the way, almost hidden.....this one is on a pedestal, clearly visible, and the sound is superb.

Even though the price was a bit high, I still bought it due to the Sonos reputation. I have a Connect AMP that powers my whole home audio. I thought the sound was okay to begin with, without a bass unit, until someone recommended the Sonos bass speaker to me. I bought it, plugged it in, and it was easy to set up. When I first heard that bass, I was impressed, my house was bumpin' like a club, like it was high school all over again. We weren't sure if we wanted to keep it due to its high price tag, so we tested unplugging it and hearing how the sound was originally, without it. We didn't like how it sounded without the bass unit so we decided to keep it cause it's total worth its price. This thing hits!

I have Sonos amps feeding in-ceiling speakers throughout my house. I added the Sonos Subwoofer, and was blown away by how much depth it added to my listening.
Setup was incredibly simple through the iPhone app, and the subwoofer can be easily added and removed from different zones if you feel like moving it from room to room.
I was a little concerned about the cost of the subwoofer - it seemed pretty steep. I considered adding my own subwoofer wired to the Sonos amp to save money, but after trying the wireless Sonos sub, I know I made the right choice. If you want a major upgrade to your sound, I recommend the Sonos Subwoofer.

This sub is by far superior to the next competitor. Produces deep room filling base without rattling everything around due to its superior technology and design. The design of the counter ballance woofers enables this sub to be placed right on my hardwood floors and it doesn’t vibrate at all!

I already had the Playbase and two Play 1s. The system sounded really good but the Sub pushed it over the top. Sound is awesome.
The sub adds deep base but not overwhelming. It really gives depth to the sound. You can adjust the settings to your preference if you want to feel the vibrations. It makes action movies come to life and you will feel like you are at the theater.
Incredibly simple to add the sub and setup with the app is very easy. As with other Sonos products the appearance and packaging are A+. Everything you need to connect is included.
Highly recommend for your Sonos system.

The price deterred me from getting this for a while, but as we continued to expand our Sonos system I thought I'd just bite the bullet and get it. I am glad I did! It really smooths out the sound in our main space which is a rather large room. The extra bass this provides over the speakers gives the overall sound a nice boost. It still seems like a lot of money to spend on it, but just like everything else we've bought from Sonos this works out-of-the-box with little configuration, and that is something we can really appreciate.
