The sonos sub woofer is amazing. the bass that comes out of this woofer is the best. the set up is so simple and easy. i paired this with my Sonos Playbar and my 85" Sony 950G and i feel like i have my own personal theater. The sound quality is absolutely what you want to hear.

Great to pair with the Playbar. I bought this a week after installing the Playbar and it makes a world of a difference. Nice smooth bass that doesnt buzz or ever sound cheezy. Just clean smooth lows. Great with music or movies/tv. It also looks great in a room. Like a piece of artwork.

I have to admit I'm pleasantly surprised by the performance of this sub. After buying new furniture and redecorating our family room, my far better half informed me she was not happy with the way my home theater system looked in the room. I can't say she was wrong. I had PSB 4T main speakers, a Polk 12-inch down firing sub, and Polk center and surround speakers. It all sounded superb, but was also big and bulky. I somewhat begrudgingly agreed and set about finding a suitable replacement. After a bunch of research, I decided on the Sonos Playbar, Sub, One and One SL speakers. The sub and One/SL speakers are wireless, far less bulky than the speakers they replaced, and sound fantastic. As for the Sub I'm reviewing here, I'll admit I was skeptical. The Polk it replaced felt like thunder throughout the house. The Sonos, to me, looks a bit odd and I didn't know how it would perform without the massive driver the Polk had. I'm pleased to report that the Sonos Sub performs admirably. Solid and clean bass from a unit that is much easier to hide in the room than was the end table-sized Polk. I find the Sonos very slightly less capable in the very lowest frequencies compared to the Polk but that's nitpicking. It seriously thumps and adds so much richness to the home theater experience that I wouldn't ever condone getting the Playbar or any other Sonos "main" speaker without adding the Sub. I believe if I was comparing this only against other wireless subs intended to be used with soundbars I would easily have given it five stars. However, that's not my experience and though the Sonos Sub is fantastic for what it is, it still lacks the performance of the sub it replaced in my house so it got docked one star. That said, let me be clear: This is a great product, and is a must-have addition to any Sonos system.

Sonos Playbar and Sub are the outstanding performers. Elegantly unobtrusive and powerful. I recommend them w/o reservation. My purchase at Best Buy took 5 minutes and the Geek Squad came by twice to show us how to use our I phones to adjust as needed. Overall great experience.

I'm so happy I switched to a Sonos system. Every sounds better than my previous system, takes up less room, looks better, and has a lot less cables. I was a little worried about the power of the sub but it's got a good range of volume and a great frequency range too.

Bought this along with a sound bar and rear speakers. Easy set up and sounds great. A bit expensive but got as an open box so didn't pay full price. Regardless it's worth the price. Only down side is you can't see the volume level on the tv when you go up and down.

I purchased the PLAY:BAR and a couple PLAY:1's earlier in the year and loved the Sonos capability and sound. After a few months I decided to purchase the sub and I'm so glad that I did. Just when I thought the Sonos sound was good, the sub really took it to the next level. There is a noticeable difference of rooms that don't have the sub, the one that does. Perfect for movies and music. Each time I entertain, I always get positive comments on my Sonos home sound system.

    Cleanest Bass I’ve Ever Heard

No, all the reviews are not lying to you. This Subwoofer is really that good. I have the sub complimenting 2 Sonos SL’s and the Sonos Beam. The bass doesn’t distort, rattle, or sound tinny at all. Perfect punch for music (Rap, POP, Jazz, etc...) and gives you the bass you had no idea you needed. The walls of my townhome are extremely thick and sound never passes through these walls. However, I cranked my system up to about 75% and my neighbor said it was the first time in 18 years that she’s heard sound travel through the wall. So for any of you that have thin walls your neighbors will despise you unless they buy one of their own. Setup is seamless, Product is pure quality, and the sound is superb! I’ve heard the Klipsch system before and the bass just bangs around with no real purpose other than extremely loud bass. The Sonos bass is punchy but clean and not headache causing bass

Terrific Addition to your Sonos Set Up

If you already have a Sonos set up, which may include the Playbar, Beam and/or Surround Speakers... this will take your sound to the next level! As with other Sonos speakers, it pairs seamlessly and easily through the app and will be up and running minutes after you plug it in. The deep bass will add some THUMP to your music or TV as well as added depth to everything else. It's a bit pricey, but when you pull the trigger on it, you'll be glad you did.

Must have for a 5.1 setup or even 2.1 setup to enjoy movies and music. Works great with the new Sonos Arc. The design is great, you won't hear any low rumbling. Easy to add/remove via the app. Never experienced audio drop offs or anything.

Sounds great! Nice deep bass. I’m no audiophile and a little ignorant to other systems. I love being able to access the app on my phone and listen to music. It was easy to set up and the sound quality is great with a small foot print.

I already knew how awesome it was and finally buying it to pair with the beam lived up to the expectations. Set up was super fast (although your wifi needs to be strong) I was worried that it would be just too much for my living room since it's not an open space but you can calibrate it to be just right. So even though I was watching a movie later at night I could still feel immersed without having the soundbar too loud although it easily will shake the house if I wanted it too. Also, with a 2 yr old I didn't really want to leave it out in the open, and what worried was that it wouldn't be effective behind my couch and between the wall (which are right up against each other) but not a problem at all. And with music, handles that beautifully. Truly high quality and is the best out there for wireless sound systems. Worth the money even if you build it little by little

Don't let the $700 price tag dissuade you. This subwoofer really packs a punch. It can fill a room with amazing depth of sound. I bought this with the Beam sound bar and it is a perfect setup for my living room. It weighs a ton, but the two drivers really provide a ton of bass.

I held off on buying this simply because of the $700 price tag. It was a weird shape and I wasn’t exactly sure how it worked. I have a Beam and 2 Sonos 1s connected to a second TV upstairs. The Beam is great but lacks serious bass to the point where it was really bothering me. I eventually caved and spent what I would have easily put toward buying a MartinLogan, SVS, or Bowers & Wilkins. Since this is Sonos, I only had one choice. I was honestly blown away when I added it. It looked kind of cheap and weird in the store, but then you quickly understand that this is some serious hardware when you pick up the surprising heavy box. The 2 horizontally mounted cones pack a strong thunderous punch even at the standard 50% level that it’s immediately set to. Music and movies sound so much better now. Yes, I thought this was a little expensive for a system with only one option, but I can’t recommend adding this enough. Well worth the $700.
