This is a good blu ray set to begin a "Sons of Anarchy" Season 1 tv series collection with! It is good as a gift or to begin a personal collection with, as well!

If you are a newcomer to Sons of Anarchy, I urge you to pick up a copy of seasons 1 and/or 2. SOA is a drama that you will appreciate more if you know the backstory. ALL of the extras in this DVD are worth your viewing time; the piece on the bikes is especially interesting, whether you are a motorcycle fan or not. As ususal, the director's and actors' takes on the featured episodes leads you further into the minds of the characters and helped me flesh out some areas that were unclear in the particular episode. A second or third watching of some of the episodes is a good idea as the characters often speak softly, in accents, or sort of mumble, and a bunch of the best stuff (this series has some VERY funny moments) is lost on the first watching.

This series revolves around Jax Teller. His father John Teller and another veteran (Piney) formed a Motorcycle club (SAMCROW, SONS of ANARCHY) to feel the freedoms that they fought for and the government made them feel they lost upon return. John is dead and Jax's stepfather Clay now runs the club. As time progresses and Jax reads his fathers journal, he learns the path the club is leading. The club is in the fictional city of Charming CA and with help of some of the local and county law enforcement the Sons keep peace within Charming by any means. Watch the club go back and forth from good and bad times in and out of situations. They handle thier issues their way and will deal with anyone that tries to expand or move on Charming including rival clubs (Myans (Mex) and 9ers (african americans)) or any agencies that try to break the club (FBI, ATF). Sons is greatly cast with the right people for the right parts including Ron Perlman as Clay, Charlie Hunnam as Jax, and Katey Segal as Jax's mother Gemma. The supporting cast is just as great. Sons of Anarchy Season 2 is on FX tuesday nights. To check out some episodes check out the Sons of Anarchy page on fxnetworks.com. The site has the last 3 episodes to view every week. Once you watch them Im sure you'll be buying this set! Grab a bike and ride, just remember its all about the MC.

At first, you might judge the show and say something messed up like they are sleazy bikers or racist, sexist, bikers, but you have to watch the show to understand each character's diverse characteristics, as well as their morals and values. They do have consciences, so it's cool to see how they live their lives day to day like everyday people. It is really a great show to watch.

Sons of Anarchy is one of the best new shows on television. My husband says it's like The Saprano's but now biker style. We are addicted to watching this series. You want to watch Season 1 so you can understand every plot and twist in the show. I recommend this for anyone who enjoys watching series shows that are somewhat true to life and in present times.

The handiest and dandiest nutshell in which to describe the FX show Sons of Anarchy is “Hamlet with Bikers.” It’s not the least accurate metaphor in the world: You have a Claudius, you have a Gertrude, and even the hero of the show, Jackson “Jax” Teller (Charlie Hunnam), has blond hair and blue eyes, looking as Danish as Danish can be. Hamlet with Bikers isn’t the worst kind of thing for a show. There are a whole ton of shows that don’t have Shakespearean allusions or dirty, smelly bikers, so can’t we have one that does?

The SOA are a strong biker club in a small southern community. A deal has been made with the towns Chief of Police that has existed for decades..The town's people go to the SOA(Son's of Anarchy) to solve problems the law can't. The second in command of the club is our young Romeo. And the new Doctor in town is his Juliette from high school days. Add a Psychotic ATF agent that is stalking the doctor and this is only the beginning of the excitement.
