It's wireless performance, noise cancelling with ambient and voice priority selectable, battery and unique control system makes this the best headphones i ever experienced

We bought this and the Bose CQ35. My husband loves this one better because of the sound quality and the ability to turn down/off the volume by touching the right earphone without taking it off. Also, the control for volume is also done by touch. The only thing I don't like is that if you laid down or the earphone is touched, you could easily change the volume or off without knowing what you did. However, if you spend the time to learn the functionalities and avoid those pitfalls, you should be fine. The Bose QC35 maybe slightly better in the noise canceling functionality, but not enough to be noticeable.

Did some research between the Bose headphone and these. Listened to both in the store. Both gave similar sound quality but I liked the features of the Sony over the Bose.

Just wish it could be toggled on and off in an easier way, and when not connected to bluetooth. Cupping of the right ear peace to hear ambient sound is genius.

With 2 kiddos in the house watching kids shows sometimes it’s nice to put these headphones on for 15 minutes, even with nothing playing. Flying coach feels like business class as well. You turn these on and the reduction of sensory input reduces fatigue significantly. I have purchased Sony headphones every 10 or 15 years. When it came time to purchase headphones in 2017, this model did not disappoint! I read somewhere that the 2018 version is even better and have beat out Bose and others. Way to go, Sony! These headphones improve your quality of life.

These are not as comfortable as the Bose QuiteComfort 35, which are really the best for comfort, but the noise cancellation is top notch, on part with the Bose QC 35, and the sound quality is great for a wireless noise-cancelling headphone. The only reason I docked a star is that the microphone is pretty terrible for phone calls, and people immediately without prompting from me ask me if there's something wrong with my phone when I call them using these headphones, and it's cleared up immediately by simply switching to use my iPhone as a handset rather than these headphones with its microphone. However, there are only a few times I would like to be able to use them on a phone call, so I still think these are a great set of headphones overall.

I recently bought the headphones for a air trip to New York. As soon as I got on the airplane I turned on the noise cancelling feature and the sound calibration feature. Within 30 second all the airplane noise was fully eliminated and when I connected the headphone via Bluetooth to my Samsung galaxy phone on turned on my steaming music from amazon prime all I head with extremely clear beautiful sound from all the songs I listened to. The headphones are quite simply awesome ! If you plane on traveling by airplane and want complete silence these are the headphones to get !

I sold my old Bose headphones to get these. I love the touch controls on the earcup and the fact that there are multiple noise cancellation modes.

I tried on the Bose QC35 and this Sony 1000X in the store before making a final decision. I found myself getting kinda sea sick from the QC35... It has more noise canceling ability (by a slight margin), but I think that extra noise cancelling amount makes me feel queezy. After owning the Sony 1000X’s for about 3 weeks now, I can honestly say that these were the right decision for me. They get warm when wearing them a while, but besides that, they are amazing! Great sound and does a great job cancelling almost everything in our office environment!

This is an excellent set of headphones. Everything from battery life, connection and sound. Very versatile and great noise cancellation with features.

I read a professional review of these headphones where these were picked over the Bose Quiet Comfort 35's. I went to my local Best Buy and tried the Sony' MDR-1000X and the Bose QC 35. The review was correct, the Sony's sound is much better. The Bose QC 35 is good at noise cancelling and so are these Sony's but the sound of the music in the Sony's blows away the Bose. I took these on a 6 1/2 hour flight and was extremely pleased with their performance. Try these for yourself to see the difference. Glad I bought these, would highly recommend them.

The sound quality is so good in all ANC headsets I have used. It can last 14 hours after it is fully charged. Do not use as a gaming headset.

I love these, best ever. The sound is awesome and the price is a little steep but I cant complain. Check them out first.

These headphones are great, they block out all the noise. The ear pads are very soft and comfortable. Great to wear just to relax and unwind?
