Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the excellent sound quality and comfortable fit of the 1000X Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones. Positive feedback also highlights the long battery life and user-friendly touch controls. However, some customers find the headphones to be a bit expensive and heavy. A few users also noted that the volume could be higher and the fit may not be ideal for all head shapes.

This is my first high-end headphones and I'm more than happy with it. After using it for a week on my daily commute on train, I regret that I didn't buy this sooner. Totally worth it. Pairs nicely with my Galaxy S8+ and Windows 10.

We reviewed and tried several makes and models, but the Sony 1000x really stood out from the pack. The sound is rich and clean, and the hand wave features really separate this product from every other similar product available.

I have both this headphone and the Bose headphone. I prefer the Sony for only two reasons, the swipe and the quick attention features. I do not use the swipe feature much but rather have that than the buttons on the Bose.

I've been comparing noise cancelling headphones for a while now and with the features and sound quality I very happy with these Sony 1000x, excellent sound and noise cancelling combined with nice intuitive features.

It was a tough call between these headphones and the similar Bose model, but I am happy that I chose these. Love the way you can touch your earpiece to reduce the sound to talk to people around you when needed.

Sound is phenomenal!! Sony has been around forever and these headphones definitely do not disappoint. These rate right up there with the Bose...and maybe better.

These headphones are on the top of my list! They don't apply preasure to your ears like the bose qc35's did. The only issue that I had was that they give off a lot of heat to your ears. All in all good headphones!

Sony has made a far superior headset here! Noise cancellation and sounds are perfect. I love the construction, carry case, and feel. Best of all, the touch features are a real treat! No complaints at ALL!

Go for this one if looking for music only. If you are planning to use this for phone calls too then you are out of luck. I tried with multiple ios and android devices but same poor quality of calls. I am able to hear things properly but person on other end of the call wont be able to understand what we are saying OR might feel that you are taking call from some conference room and sitting far away from microphone.....Tried calling sony support and they did basic reset etc things which I tried already but still no luck. Now this is out of warranty so cannot do anything. If looking for music + Calls then go for BOse QC35 as my team members are using the same and excellent call quality too.

I'd read reviews that stated it was on par or better sound quality than Bose qc35, but where classical music is concerned the Bose outshined or matched Sony in almost every aspect. Base not as clear and articulate as expected and reviewed by others. Highs also less accurate.

These headphones are comfortable and work great to keep external noise out. Really allows me to focus on my work without distraction. Replaced an older set of Sony headphones - amazing improvement.

Nice headsets! I picked up this item just to experiment and I walked away with a wow! However, I don't think it's worth $400. But the sound in the amenities that come with it were outstanding.

So I have to get straight into what I am going to be comparing these headphones to. Unfortunately everything that I have is going to be a class below these. I have had a X series headphones from Sony and I consider them an outstanding set of headphones, but they lack a couple of the defining features that this set has. The biggest one would be the wireless part in my opinion, but the noise cancellation would be another aspect. If you are needing a no compromise set of headphones then this should be a top contender. Sound is extremely well balanced and the noise cancellation is top notch. Even the passive without the headphones being powered on are quite noticeable. The are quite comfortable even over a long period of listening and they don't get very hot. Battery life is incredible. You could even keep them on when you sleep and the battery would still be running. I really like the on headphone controls and NFC makes pairing incredibly easy although it does take some getting used to not having a physical button for it, but Sony does make it with having the controls right on the included case. Sony really did have every single consideration including flight scenarios with including the adapter. Audio quality does improve moderately with using a AUX cable as opposed to just Bluetooth, but it is still incredible through Bluetooth. I can't say I have a complaint about the headphones other than getting used to the headphone controls. Good luck finding something that has as many features well done as this because I'm comparing them also to a set of Astro A40 Gaming Headphones and Audio Technica ATH-M50X and they just don't compare although they are different purposes at different prices.

I loved these when I tried them in the store. However-after practical use they became a horrendous $400 mistake. 1. Way too heavy. 2. Bad fitting. 3. will not stay on my head while I work around the house. 4. Where is the bass! this kind of HIGH priced tech should come with bass that is acceptable-either as a turn on/off feature and I should not have to put up with buying another $400 pair w/BASS. 5. After returning these my Skull Candy $20 buds work BETTER!

The first thing to consider with headphones: the sound. These headphones have great sound. I have a pair of wired Bose over-ear headphones and the sound is comparable between the two. I also have bluetooth Bose headphones for exercise, and I can say that these from Sony have a better bluetooth connection (less interference with distance and walls). Next to consider: the noise-cancelling. This is my first pair with noise-cancelling, so I cannot compare with other pairs. What I can say is that it is absolutely amazing! I live in a small apartment a few floors above an overpass, and putting on these headphones blocks out the sound of traffic, the air conditioner, the dish washer, pretty much anything. I was listening to a podcast and couldn't even hear when my girlfriend was talking. This brings me to the more advanced features of these headphones. You can turn off the noise cancelling entirely, or just allow the sound of voices to pass through. With the voice setting on, all ambient noise is blocked (consistent sounds like the AC, running water, etc.) while more discrete sounds come through (voices talking, clinking glasses, etc.). This is a fantastic setting as it blocks a lot of sound, but lets you stay aware of people talking to you. This setting also makes it easier to talk on the phone through the headphones, as it is very strange to try talking and not be able to hear your own voice. Finally, touch controls. The controls for these headphones are very simple and intuitive. Double-tap the right ear-cup to play/pause. Swipe forward to skip the track, or backward to go back. Swipe up or down to control the volume. A novel feature is to cover the right ear-cup entirely, which will turn down the volume and turn off all noise-cancelling, so if someone starts talking unexpectedly you can hear them. That doesn't mean it looks normal to do so; you're probably better off just taking them off, but it is an interesting feature none-the-less. Battery life: I've been using them for about 9 hours via bluetooth with noise-cancelling on, and they're still going. Haven't had to charge them yet.

I own Bose products and won't knock them but these Sony headphones are impressive. Bose are slightly more comfortable but the technology in these babies are the way to go.
