I have been using them while there has been construction on my building and the street just outside my apartment window. It completely drowns out the sounds. Its amazing. They are comfortable to wear for long periods of time and have a great battery life.

I purchased this headset for my trip to Japan and performed above expectations. Sound quality was great via bluetooth and the noise cancellation helped me get some rest while on the plain. The plane noise difference while wearing the headset was a night and day difference. Also, the pass through feature allowed me to communicate with the attendants while keeping my headset on. Keep up the good work Sony!

I picked these up at Best Buy. The Active Noise Cancelling hurt my ears (like intense pressure on the inner ear) and also gave me headaches. I also tried the Bose QC35 II. Personally I found the Bose more comfortable (though the ANC still hurt my ears) and was surprised I liked the sound quality better with the Bose. I stuck with the Bose and just turn the ANC off. You have more options with the Sony, like EQ settings, but I found the build quality, comfort, and sound quality to be superior with the Bose.

When I put on the headphone, the world become quiet instantly. I love the fact that I don't need to bother to select a mode and the headphone will do it for me. And gesture control is way to convenient. I love this headphone!

I wear these 6 days a week at the gym very little slippage and after having them for a month I still haven't had to charge them. I am very impressed and glad I bought them. Cool feature cupping the right ear and being able to hear everything around me.

I travel a lot and these headphones are so benefial to block engine noise and other irritants on plane and train. Long battery life and being able to use the “touch” system on right headphone is so convenient as opposed to trying to locate buttons.

I’ve waited a year for a review, and honestly this is a wonderful pair of Noise cancelling headphones. Many would first look to Bose for quality build and precision sound, but I urge you to take a look a real look at Sony. For a sound signature, you definitely will have a different experience than with Bose which can be a richer and truer sound, but Sony still delivered here. Ambient sound is a feature I find myself using every day at least once or twice; I’m a college student and often find it necessary when interacting with others in my day. I can also go through about 5 to 6 hours of straight use before experiencing a large amount of fatigue or discomfort. I would weigh the benefits between these and Bose before making a decision, but I was pleasantly assured with my decision after a year of use.

Unless you are an audiophile theses are the best Bluetooth ANC canceling headphones out. Just got back from a trip to Jamaica, silence while liafiing to a movie. Only time I heard voices was when pilot or flight attendant made an announcement. Listening to the latest Transformers movie, every last sound was there and it was an unbelievable experience. I want the Bluetooth wireless buds now!

These headphones are incredibly comfortable and have a very long battery life.

I bought these sony headphones because my Beats are worn out. I used the Beats during workouts and now after 2 years the earcups are pealing. I needed an upgrade and I have always wanted these Sony headphones. As far as sound goes I can hear the differene between them and the Beats. There are things in songs that I can hear now that I never really heard through the Beats. Noise Cancelling: I was blown away by how muc noise these Sony's cancel. The first time I tried them it freaked me out how much I stopped hearing the outside noises. I like using N.C when I just want to relax and block everyone out. Controls: The controls on the heaphones are so easy and convenient. I find it more fun using the controls here than on the Beats. No buttons to push, just swipe your finger across the cup and that's it. Amazing!

Very confortable headsets, with an outstanding sound and good noise reduction

Bought this set during the Black Friday sale. The sound and noise cancellation are amazing. Writing this at 36k feet on a plane and hear nothing but music. Super comfy, deep bass, crisp. No complaints a must for travelers. Five stars.

I have had all three generations of Sony’s 1000x noise canceling headphones. This is the second pair of Sony Wh1000xm2 I have purchased. The first pair I got about 8 months ago. I ended up selling them to get the wh1000xm3. These are just as good as the 3rd generation. The only difference is the 3rd generation are slightly more comfortable and I like how they use the usb C port to charge. I was hoping that there would be a deal for Black Friday on the third generation headphones when I heard Best Buy was taking $150 off of these I ended up selling my third generation and going back to these. Best deal ever. I recommend you buy these or the third generation. I thought they were worth full price when I originally bought them and picked them over the QC II after trying both for about 3 weeks each.

Long battery life and great sound. They also are great at cancelling noise.

Make sure to get the mkII. The MKII is supported by sony's headphone app. The app adds some nice equalizer features and costume sound mapping. These headphones have an outstanding battery life. I flew half way around the world listening to music the whole time. I arrived with half the battery left.

The noise cancelling (NC) in these headphones is AMAZING, even in a noisy environment like an airport or an airplane. In fact, if you had it on full NC you might miss announcements; not to worry though, because the NC also supports a voice passthrough mode that filters out noise but lets you hear voices. The headphones automatically switch between full NC and voice passthrough modes depending on whether you're moving or not. You can also manually switch modes via a button or with the phone/tablet app. The touchpad volume and track controls are a little fussy; I would have preferred regular buttons. The touchpad NC bypass control is handy though. I haven't found the NFC support all that useful. The headphones are pretty comfortable but could be better. The battery life is excellent.

I really wanted to like these headphones. They have so many cool features with the built in gesture swipes and the NC was really really well done, unfortunately after wearing them on a 2 1/2 hr flight they ended up making my ears sore and for that reason I returned them. This could just be a personal problem which is why I rated them 4 stars. The Bluetooth distance is really good and sound quality is pretty good as well. I wish they would have worked out.

They sound great! Are there headphones that sound better? Absolutely. But, as a whole package, these are the best. Best comfort, insanely good battery life, and many cool features. The sound and noise canceling are among the best.

Purchased these for mostly airplane usage and overall, they block the vast majority of unwanted sound and have very nice, clean sound through it. Battery life is unbelievable, they are light and comfortable. Can't give 5 stars as the app is clunky to use and doesn't pair with multiple devices.
