Purchased these for a long airplane ride, but the sound quality was so good that I now use them when working out in the yard or at the gym. They are comfortable too. I also like that it syncs to my phone. Worth every penny!

I have owned roughly over 20 different headphones over the past 6 years from Beats, Skull Candy, Jbl, Jabra, Etc... earbuds, in ear, over ear, you name it I've pretty much tried them. I live music and being immersed into the sounds as I listen. These have been a expensive investment, but worth every penny. From the rechargeable battery, ease of use and setup, awesome sound, built in microphone, and other features. I have read articles about headphones, this is what I've been looking for. I use them when practicing the drums and they don't act up, perfect sound, no cutting out or distortion.

I love these bad boys! I use them for work since I try to stay focused and listen to music all day. I use these for 8 hours a day M-Th and by Friday they are at low level. The battery time for these are amazing! even if you happen to let them die they do come with a cord and you can use them as regular standard headphones (though if you don't use them with bluetooth they will not have the noise cancelling feature. I can really appreciate the tap control too (check the manual) and the google assist feature is icing on the case. Overall if you want to invest in comfy headphones with amazing battery life and whatnot this is the headphone for you.

Amazing sound, good build, long battery life but not amazing, good active sound canceling, allows sound it when you cover the cup, I love the swipe functions, beyond comfortable. Only downside is that it charges via micro usb which is ridiculous considering it’s $200. Just buy the 3rd revision of these and it’s perfect.

These headphones do a great job with the noise cancellation. Used on an international flight and it definitely made the flight quiet. Worked well with Bluetooth. Very comfortable. Happy with my purchase

Great headset, comfortable, well-fitting, plenty of Bluetooth volume. The ambient noise reduction, onboard an AA flight, was 4* out of 5. I sampled the M3's in store, was sold, bought AND when I opened the package I discovered I was given M2's - 'accidently. I have returned thoes and ordered the M3's to be delivered to home.

I do have a few headphones from B&W, B&O H7, Bose, Joe Grado but the one I really like using is the Sony MDR-F1 unfortunately it is so beat up and they discontinued it.. so I when I saw the 1000XM2 I had to try it, hoping that it will have the same feel, the sound is about the same but not the comfort. I say the sound is comparable to the B&O H7, bass is defined and not overbearing , overall from high to low is good, depending on the quality of your collection, I have a lots of Hi res music, the control for ambience and phone are excellent...the bad thing is, my nephew's kid fell in love with it and took it from me...he prefer it than the same price Bose, now he is the one enjoying it, I will miss that one..

I really loved the sound quality, features and build of these headphones. noise-cancelling is excellent. But, I ended up returning them as I find the grip of the cans little tight and slightly heavier and don't feel I can wear them long for few hours. I ended up buying Bose QC 35 II though I don't like the dull sound quality of them as I intend to wear headphones at work for 5-6 hours at least.

I didn’t realize I had never reviewed. I’m a brand loyalist and when it comes to audio I have always trusted Sony. And these don’t disappoint. My ears can’t keep buds in so I have to do over the ears. These are comfortable. The sound is rich and you can switch between noise canceling, ambient sound, or nothing and all are great. I use these for exercise and travel. And the app is great too and allows lots of choices in customizing the sound you like ...choosing to create your own or choose one of several preset choices. I’ve had them 2 years now and they’re flawless.

Sound was great but headband broke in under a year

I was torn about the number of stars to give for these headphones. I received them back in December and have thoroughly loved them. I used them multiple times a day--when I was on the train, walking to and from work, traveling for work, cleaning, etc. The sound was fantastic and everything was great. Until today. Today, as I took off my headphones, as I usually do to read a bit while on the train, the headband cracked. After doing some research (which admittedly should've been done before I bought them), I found out that this is a persistent problem for these headphones and similar headphones from Sony. If you do buy these headphones, I highly recommend that you buy an insurance plan that covers cosmetic damage or accidents.

I work in a close space with my co worker who have sinus problems, and who talk a lot, so these were a God Send!! When you put them on it’s like the air around you is sucked completely out and all you hear is a light Hum! It’s like you’re underwater. No phones, people can scream your name and you hear Nothing!! Perfect when you want to just ZONE OUT at work or working out. And people on the outside can hear anything so it’s great on long flights! I originally bought them for my 12 hr flight to Europe. BEST DECISION!! It’s a lot of money but great quality and the battery lasts a good while. 18 hours goes pretty Long

I did a ton of research when shopping for noise cancelling headphones short of hi fidelity headphones. I was torn between the Sony and the Bose® - QuietComfort® 35 wireless headphones II. I wore both in the store for an extended period of time and at the end of the day I found the vacuum pressure from the noise canceling to be to strong on the Bose which hurt my ears after prolonged wear. I went with the Sony am very happy. I flew to Hawaii for vacation recently and wore these the entire flight there and back with no problems and they were comfortable the entire time. Also, the battery life was amazing as well having even hours of power left after the flights.

These headphones lived up to what I hoped for in the real world. Battery holds well, they are lightweight, and most importantly they cancel noise very well - even on airplanes.

I hate over the ear headphones. I love their sound though. This pair of headphones fit comfortably and with little irritation. I love the sound they provide and the noise cancellation. I can wear this set of headphones for about 3 1/2 hours before needing to take them off and give my ears a break. My wife has the Boise Q35 headphones. I, personally, like this set better. She likes her set better. It comes down to personal preference. Both set of headphones are awesome though. I just prefer the sound from Sony's pair.

I tried the Bose QC35-II and the Sennheiser - PXC 550 as well. The 1000XM2 not only had a better sound but the range was far better than that of the Bose. I love the touch controls on the right ear. No they don't connect to multiple devices but going from my computer (where I use them the most) to my phone is a snap via NFC. Just touch the phone to the left ear and you're connected. I use them for music and daily meetings. The noise cancelling is phenomenal. I can work with everyone in the house without interruption. Need to talk to someone, cover the right ear and the sound passes through. I highly recommend these to others that work from home.

I really wanted to like these. The audio quality was amazing and the noise cancelling blew my mind. Unfortunately they are a bit too heavy. As a result, it seems the clamp pressure is high. Become uncomfortable after an hour and I don't have a "fat head". Also tried calling my wife on these through bluetooth. She said audio was terrible. I ended up returning and getting bose QC35. Much more comfortable, amazing what a difference 0.1 lb can make. I will say the audio quality of the bose sounds muffled compared to the sonys. And the bose NC isn't as good. The mic for calls is excellent, my wife couldn't tell I was driving. But there is almost no sidetone while talking on the bose, which makes it disconcerting to talk. But, overall, the bose is much better for what I need - which is hours of comfortable NC and decent, but not great audio.

Had a pair of Bose QC25's that I needed to upgrade as the ear cups were starting to fall apart after 6 or 7 years of use. Use: I fly a LOT during the year - typically 2 to 3 weeks a month and I MUST HAVE a good pair of NC headphones during my time in the air. These headphones are amazing. I never thought anyone else could beat Bose at the NC game, but Sony really stepped up with these headphones. When you add in the easy touch controls as well as the added mute feature of simply covering one ear these things are GREAT!!! When you add that I picked these up on sale for only $199 They were a great purchase!!

Better bass than Bose QC35 but not as muddy as Beats Studio 3. Love that there is an app on the phone to change the pressure, so when you are flying it can reduce the pressure say from 1.0 atmosphere to 0.8 atmosphere which makes them more comfortable to use for longer periods of time, like long flights. AND, they do have 30 HOURS of battery life and I can see a battery indicator on my phone. Can travel all week without a charge.
