This is a great receiver, at a great price. Easy to set up and exceeds most needs. Definitely a must have for 4K use. Added depth to my current surround sound system. Love Sony for ease of use.

I was prompted to buy the Denon by a BB Associate after having numerous problems with the Sony I had purchased. I paid more with the expectation this would be a high powered sound system. I was disappointed. I have to crank the volume past half way to hear. I have it set up Zone 1 5.1 so I'm not asking a lot from the Receiver. The tuner sound like it is a little off balance on reception, sounds like it is coming out of a tin can.

I was using a home theatre system and wanted better sound. I tried this receiver with new speakers and WOW is it great. I got a new center and 2 bookend speakers and my old back surround speakers. I also bought a new subwoofer. Total cost 450.00 for an Incredible system. I am happy at 1\4 level volume.

Replaced a marantz that was 6x the cost. There is a difference, but not one that juatifies the prixe variance. I primarily use if for surround sound for movies/xbox in my living room. I am using a klipsch 5:1. If high fidelity music ia your thing buy accordingly otherwise i highly rexmc this amp

I am an audiophile. All of my amps have been Denon. This Sony is my first Sony. Hurry and buy one at this price. Sound is awesome! The features are great. Sound quality is excellent! I play it at max volume with no distortion.. You can increase volume by increasing the speakers levels. The thunder from subwoofer is astonishing! Great features,sound and no issues. I play it really hard, and it is flawless. Read the manual, see how it compares to a Denon. You won't be disappointed. It fills my huge room with great clean music. It is on sale under 200. Want great sound, connected to either your iPhone, CD, etc, it will blow you away! My Denons are now packed away!

Initially I was concerned about the set up and connection to my TV/VCR/Blu-ray/DVR/cable box and multiple speakers. I was able to connect all these devices and calibrate the sound system on my own. I’m pleased with the fairly easy set up and calibration as well as the resulting sound of this system.

I was in search of a surround sound amplifier for a theater room I was setting up in my house and this amplifier seemed like it would work well. It was worked very well. It has tremendous power and works well with very large speakers as well as small speakers. I think this is so because there is a microphone that is used to automatically tune the audio output of the amplifier. I am a big fan of Sony products and this amplifier lives up to everything Sony is known for which is quality, ease of use, all at a respectable price. It's getting harder to find an amplifier that will work with any component. This amplifier works great with my laser disc player, blu ray player, and android tv box.

I am truly happy with this Sony, sounds great, Bluetooth works great, long range. I got this unit to upgrade to 7.1 and am very pleased with the sound, easy set up, easy functions.

Compact size, great sound. Easy set up compared to my previous device. The unit features Bluetooth which is a feature I was looking for. Sony is always a product you can count on.

I was looking to upgrade my older Sony Receiver when I bought this item. It is a great 7.2 AV Receiver. Most recent DVDs, almost all Blu-Rays, and virtually all 4K Discs will come with a 7.1 sound, so if you want to get the best audio you need a 7.1 receiver. I did a lot of research before buying this one; it is not the latest or absolute top-of-the-line model but it is on the top, and when you compare price vs features from my point of view this was by far the best option (why pay another $300 for features you prob will never use?). The set up process is quick, and effortless. The instructions help a lot to see what speakers configuration is the best for your set up.

I purchased this Sony because my Denon was in the shop (and that takes forever) during the holidays when we expected to watch a lot of sports. I found the programming and adjustments using the front button panel to be confusing and not very intuitive. I would not purchase this product again. Now that I have my Denon back, I will either try to sell the Sony or move it into another room to create a smaller, less complex home theater experience.

I got this on sale for 199.99, so worth it. I'm only using it as a 5.1 at the moment, with an 8 inch sub and it dumps. Can't wait to upgrade to 4k and use the 7.2. Takes a little while getting it set up perfect, and figuring out the speaker setup etc but it's worth it. I wasn't sure how the Bluetooth would work, because you have to use songpal app, but it works great, recognizes my phone, one click and your music is playing through surround sound, love it. Also have my Xbox one hooked up to this, playing Battlefield1, makes it so realistic. My speakers and subwoofer, are at least 6 years old, and this still sounds great, can't wait to upgrade everything!

This has been a great 4D Ultra home theatre receiver! We have had a very similar one in the past and used it until it stopped working. We decided to do some research and the Sony ultra 4D home receiver we purchased was ranked very high! We have been very happy with our purchase!

If you are looking to upgrade your audio and find a truly 4K compatible AVR, this is a perfect start. Sony has proven 4K compatibility across the board, and with some decent audio and a very user-friendly setup menu, this is a great companion for your home theater/media room system.

Easy to use, easy to setup. Used my old Bose speaker set and this receiver pushes them great !. Bluetooth and the phone app work great for controlling the volume, etc from another room.

The great price and feature list convinced me to try this. However when I got it home and set up the lack of configuration options and informational displays left me wanting - I returned it. For someone who is starting out in the Home Theater /AV world this is probably a great first receiver. What I mean by that is if you're a "just want to plug it in and have it work" person then you might want to give this a try.

Easy to connect audio wires etc. Poor direction as to which audio wire connects to Tape, phono, CD etc. Should have more specifically marked for connection for each electronic device to attach. Had to call Sony help desk to straighten it out and they also registered unit.

I purchased this receiver to replace my ten year old Onkyo because the rear speakers on that one started producing major static. I love it! Set up was easy and the sound is awesome. My only complaint is that the list of compatible bluetooth headphones is very short.

I bought this receiver to replace an older one. The sound clarity and the surround effect produced is a completely engulfing experience. It also has Bluetooth capability, which allows me to play all my music on my android phone effortlessly. A definite win for me.

Almost bare bones in terms of software features and customization, but really is only needed to play music and movies and this is does greatly. If you only need a couple HDMIs for a cable box and gaming system in one room audio, this is a great deal to make.
