Perfect Master Bedroom
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had an old SONY 5.1 surround receiver that I purchase back in 2001. Replaced it with this unit. It was easy to set up and for the money delivers excellent sound quality! Much better than I had expected. Great system on a budget and blows away any soundbar!

Changed my life
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before I had this receiver, I had an HDMI switcher with an extra remote just for that. Yes, it was Rocketfish so it would turn on when I turned my TV on, but it was something extra to fiddle with or switch when I wanted to go from DirecTV to Apple TV. Then, I got this unit and plugged in all my HDMI cables into it, and to complete my life, I got the NVDA shield. Things are so easy now. The Sony unit talks to my TV as well, so turning on the DirecTV turns on receiver and TV no problem. That’s normal. But now with NVDA shield, I just push a button on the remote or the controller and everything turns on. Then I say, Hey Google, turn off and everything shuts off. Amazing. The connectivity with my Sony TV is amazing, or anything else for that matter. When the unit senses an HDMI signal it turns on, and when it doesn’t, it automatically shuts off after a few minutes. Changed my life.

not impressed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had hoped for a better reciever even if this is a lower end model. After purchasing and downloading the initial update the reciever still can't seem to find my Sony tv model. Sometimes the reciever seems to turn on and off everything with the push of a button and other times I feel like I'm scrambling to find the other remotes. Waiting for the next update, hopefully that helps.

Good Sony Receiver!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Receiver got enough power for my Bose surround sound. Love the bluetooth feature to connect with my iPhone and iPad without any wire. The price was great as well.

Great value for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. With new Samsung 4K UHD TV, I chose this Sony AV to replace my 10 years old Sony AV since it has 4K, HDMI ARC port, and was on sale. Very easy to set up with all HDMI connection. Everything works great so far. Only have 2 minor complaints, not a big deal. First, there is always a couple-of-seconds delay when I turn on my TV, DirecTV DVR box and this AV unit to get sounds go through, even when switch channels. Second, haven't find a way to prevent the AV menu from showing on the TV when I turn on the AV. I will go away or have to push the home button on AV's remote, just a bit annoying.

Almost perfect.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our old receiver stopped working when we tried attaching new surround speakers to it, so we bought this one to replace it. Love how I can use my Logitech remote to change the activity and the receiver automatically does most of the work by changing the input and listening settings. My only issue is that sometimes it can be really hard to see the setting it's on because it shows up on the screen on the front of the receiver and it's pretty far from where we sit.

Waited a year
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After my previous Sony receiver blew its' light and finally stopped working I researched which brand and spec would be best for me. The previous receiver lasted 20 yrs and wanted the same out of my new choice. I am brand loyal and was really wanting to stick with Sony even though some Denon system may have been better. I waited until this went on sale for $399.99 plus geek squad warranty. I am happy with my purchase and it makes my home theater setup sound amazing.

Good amp/reciever with good watts easy to operate
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has good wattage and is a little simplistic for my usual taste, makes a good reciever/amp for a beginner or as an extra in a secondary room. The remote is simple as are the inputs and settings making it pretty fool proof and for once the rest of my family isn't perplexed with a reciever. 7.1 and decent wattage output are a plus. Multiple 4K and 3D hdmi in and out is a major plus. With the sale price this was comparable price to an hdmi switch. Not many newer receivers still support 3D hdmi especially with 4K and higher wattage. This is a winner.

Excellent product for the money

Good unit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the unit a lot! Very easy to use & connect (even my 8 year old uses it when playing video games). Gives great & clear powerful sound with no distortion. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because if you pause the unit or searching for a movie, it automatically shuts off after 15 mins of sitting idle & there's no way to turn this option off or adjust the timer. Another nice feature would've been to be able to mute or turn the subwoofer off through the remote instead of manually turning off my sub. Other than great unit!

Great product!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I checked reviews on several Sony receivers and for the price, this one is fabulous. It's not the most expensive unit, but that doesn't mean the quality isn't good. This is a great, inexpensive receiver that produces great sound.

So Far, So Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Drives my speakers and BT works good. Does not stay on but shuts off after a time, if unused, which defeats my purpose of using Alexa with the receiver. To date, II have not determined if to return or figure a workaround.

Just Ok
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this tuner for my home theater system. It works fine but doesn't have an audio out port so the tech had to do a work around to make it work for my needs. If I had time I would have returned it and gotten something that gives me more flexibility. It's working fine but I'm only able to get things that come through the cable box due to the way it's wired.

Versatile, solid receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for our living room and paired it with four Sony core series floor speakers, center speaker and 10” subwoofer, as our living room is small I decided to go with a 5.1 setup instead of 7.2. Loved the sound so much I moved the rest of my audio components into the setup for music playback, and I’m just in heaven. Clear audio, versatile inputs and outputs, and easy setup. The HDMI pass through alone is a godsend as I’d been using several switches in tandem before.

Sounds great and easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Comes with speaker to setup surround sound. Volume is finely adjustible. ARC works with my LG tv. Has several modes to listen to. I prefer prolog ii as the other effects have too much reverb. Price was great.

Excellent for price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After looking at a Yamaha Receiver, I decided to purchase this Sony Receiver and I must say that I made the right choice. This sony receiver was easy to set up and and was a lot cheaper then the one from Yamaha.
