In typical Sony quality, this is a great receiver, easy to program, easy to set up and works great. Love the ability to control everything from one device with the HDMI Ctrl option. Good return in investment!

Works good with my Samsung 4K TV & BluRay. You have to adjust the setting on your Samsung TV to disable Anynet to get the receiver to work with it to automatically change the TV inputs. Would recommend!!

My Sony STR-DE197 died after <5 years. I had a different Dolby 5.1 system for DVD's and cable and such. I saw this and thought. Yay! Upgrade! Most online reviews were good...what hooked me was a question, "Can I change EQ?" and the answer was, "Yep, to whatever you want!." But it didn't say from the 6 options you're given...there isn't even a "tone" button, let alone bass, treble or EQ. But you can choose "jazz" or "sport" or "nighttime."
No power, no bass, no choice...it's like a 1980's Radio Shack boom box. If it didn't take 2 hours to set up and my old one still worked, I'd send it back tomorrow. Don't think you're getting a deal. It's like when you have a supermarket bonus card and you buy some ice cream for $3.99 "with card" but "regular" price is $6.99 so you "saved" $3, but no-one would pay $6.99. Don't be fooled, no-one would pay $449 for this piece of dirt, so you're not saving $250 to buy it for $199

It works perfect for the wattage use. I am using it to pair with Harman Kardon’s 16BQ speaker system and optima projector. It works perfect and am able to get good picture and sound quality.

I purchased this item when my Onkyo went out. I was looking for something to take its place at a decent price point. Sounds great for the price. It is not the Onkyo, and it does not have a zone two. However, it does the job just fine. It is hooked up to a home theatre system in my living room. It booms. Is it a Pioneer Elite? No, but great for the price. I am not one to pay four figures for my equipment. I look for quality at a good priice. I would purchase this again.

Good price for 7.1 surround sound (I paid 199.00). The only draw back is the subwoofer requires a special cord whereas the rest of the speakers only need standard speaker wire to hook up.

I have been wanting this unit for over a year now. My old receiver, SONY purchased in 2008, went down and didn't get back up again. This NEW unit is perfect and the sound quality is awesome!

I needed a receiver for all my stuff. This was fairly simply to hook everything up to. My tv isn't as new so had to pick up additional cables but not a big deal at all. Happy customer.

I've had this receiver for almost 1 year.
Was working really well until a couple days ago.
One of the HDMI In ports "Video" just died. Now I get to play with Sony's customer support and try to get this thing fixed or replaced.
Other than the dead port it's been a pretty nice receiver.

I bought this to replace an old Sony that didn't have HDMI pass through. It has sound calibration software that immediately comes up when you first turn this on. The microphone works great and it sets itself up in a matter of minutes. It produces great sound and has a nice feature that turns itself off when you turn the TV off (my cable HDMI is plugged into the receiver). I got it on a black Friday special ($200), so you can't beat the value for the cost.

Sony system is a great little system for the budget minded person that wants a quality product and a great price.easy to set up and sounds great with my Klipsch speakers. I have a 7.0 system using a set of speakers in the ceiling. This system sounds better than a lot of others that I have heard. The combo of the speakers and this stereo works great. I ready enjoy playing music off of my iPhone right over the system . It was a great by for me
