Has plenty of ports for HDMI & surround sound awesome

I have an older model of this and liked it. I went ahead and bought this one because of my positive experience with the older one. This new version was more powerful and had an easier set up process, and works with 4K players which is a plus. I would definitely take a chance on this one but try and wait for it to go on sale.

Easy 7.1 setup. Good sound from good array of inputs.

I bought this receiver when I moved into a bigger house and wanted to upgrade my home theater system. It has plenty of power for your speakers and the user interface is very simple to use. I really liked the calibration mic. It helps make sure all your speakers are operating at the correct sound levels without being distorted.

I was out on Black Friday and found this receiver on sale took a chance with it, and I'm glad I did. The features on this are great for the price point. Clean sound (better than my pervious Yamaha receiver) the power isn't quite what they say it is but does the job for my living room. All in all I'd buy this receiver again

Hook up took a while cos I'm using 9 year old speakers that don't connect easily to the new type speaker connections. After calibration and connecting the sub..... the sound is more than I needed. Samsung TV, PS4, chromecast, chromecast audio sounds are all controlled by the Sony AVR and the speakers are not disappointing.

I bought this to complement my new 4k TV and my Xbox One S and I'm thoroughly happy with it. I moved up from a Sony 6.1 system that was about ten years old and it was a stark imrovement. I also love the Bluetooth streaming from my iPhone for music. Only negative is that it refuses to work with my Bose Bluetooth headphones :(

Black Friday for under 200$. 4K pass through 7.2 good with apple products

A nice choice but have a few issues that require more items to get the best reception for FM radio stations.

I had to return two of these and get a third unit because the subwoofer output on the first unit did not work and the bluetooth on the second unit did not work. The quality assurance these days is horrendous and they sure don't make these receivers like they used to. My old Sony receiver I bought when I was 15 worked for 25 years and still was great when I sold it to replace it with this one (which I needed there of before getting one that worked properly). The guy that bought my old one explained he wanted one of the older, quality receivers instead of the new junk they are selling now. Go figure. I didn't realize what he was talking about until I needed to buy three of these. However, this third one has been doing just fine for a year now. It's not as user friendly and the button sequencing for changing settings is quite challenging but I'm hoping it lasts 25+ years like my first one I bought in the early '90s.

Just hooked it up and i like it so far it did turn off once by itself other then that it seems to work good

Very nice receiver for the price. Does all I need it to do. Simple but capable. Bluetooth connectivity a plus.

A good unit for the price,. Has more HDMI posts than comparatively priced brands, good sound quality and well labeled back. It could have a few more sound fields. The easy setup works well but the instructions are a .pdf file that needs to be downloaded to completely adjust to your surroundings..

We went in not knowing what to purchase for our new home surround sound system. This was the best product on the shelf for what we needed: hookup for 5 speakers, inputs for tv and cable, as well as the ability to bluetooth. All hooked up and very happy with the performance. Sony has great products.

We switched from a Denon back to "old reliable" Sony for our Home Theater. This is our 3rd Sony receiver and I should never have deviated. The setup was so simple and the microphone for speaker spacing was amazing. Having the ARC channel was key and has added to our entertainment enjoyment.

This fit the speakers we already had. It works great and allows us to run all of our other devices off of it
