Pros: excellent sound quality for a Sony audio product. Much cheaper than Yamaha and onkyo. Cons: it keeps going off on its own every couple of days in the middle of use and then it doesn't restart without unplugging. I also don't like the remote control and its functionality compared to Yamaha and onkyo.

Purchased this to replaced a 4-year old SONY receiver that has a habit of shutting off in the middle of a movie. I am a big fan of SONY products so hope this one is better than the last one. So far so good. Easy to set up and I think the picture quality is actually better using this receiver.

This is a basic, budget receiver that does exactly what you would expect: good sound with few frills. I am pleased with it. It has better dialog clarity than the broken Yamaha it replaced, yet it only cost half as much as the Yamaha. So if you want good quality sound without all the bells and whistles then buy this.

I purchased this reciever cause my hdmi out went bad on my old Yamaha. This reciever was extremely easy to setup and calibrate with the inlud d mic. I didn't have some issues with the sound and video having a slight hiccup every so often but I simply switched out hdmi cable and haven't had the issue since

Bought this for a set of klispch speakers and record player. It work phenomenally. No complaints here.

I bought this surround sound system to replace a pioneer head unit that bit the dust. I have it paired with a set of 5.1 Bose speakers. It has decent sound, better than the original Pioneer but not stellar. The remote is much easier to use than the Pioneer was. Overall it is a good unit for the price.

Solid entry level receiver. Was looking for 4k pass through at a decent price, this delivered. Was a little frustrated that my composite av inputs do not work through the hdmi output to the tv as I have many older game systems that I cannot hook up due to this, but I'm a niche customer in that regard.

I consider myself a tech geek, but the manual could be better. Easier to understand all the options.

The receiver is amazing and it does everything you want in a great receiver. It has blue tooth technology as well where it doesn't mention that on the review but when it arrived the outer case was damaged. I emailed it to Best Buy but no one ever contacted me back. Still an amazing receiver.

We recently purchased a home with a built-in surround sound system. We have no idea what type of receiver to purchase. The employees at Best Buy were not helpful either. We guessed this home theater receiver would best fit what we needed, and so far seems to work well. It was fairly easy to setup. No complaints.

Got this receiver for my bedroom. picked up some Klipsh speakers to go with it. I was not disappointed.

Bought it because my Yamaha 5.1 RX-V471 rcvr wasn't linking to my Sony TV. The new receiver linked well but the sound quality was not as good as the Yamaha. I was able to switch back to my Yamaha because the link problem was due to another issue, so I returned the Sony ... Best Buy has a great return policy. A significant difference between receivers was that the Yamaha had an adjustable equalizer (that higher priced Sony's have).

I replaced an old Aiwa receiver that didn't have any HDMI inputs and this worked great. I am using the old speakers that came as a kit with the Aiwa receiver so I'm not using this receiver to its full potential. But it still works great. Looking forward to start replacing the speakers with Klipsch ones.

This is a great receiver, especially on sale at $299. Got enty og HDMI inputs for my pruposes and has the ability to be 7.2 or 5.1 with second set of speakers if you want. Reason for 4 stars is because every now and again I have tounplug HDMI and ug it back in order for picture to show up

the only reason i knocked off a star is because i can't switch between speaker A and B via remote or app. I have system set as a 5.1 and speaker B is outdoor. Otherwise its a great system, powerful, and better than excepted.

I bought this with the intention of setting it up with my center channel speaker and subwoofer. I should have done more research, or read it more clearly, as it would not interface with the LG center channel speaker. It was a great price, but I didn't want to have to buy all new speakers to use it.

This unit ended up exceeding my expectations. It powers my surround sound great and even helped me fix my wiring. One of the features when you first plug it in is it does a speaker check and "looks" or checks for each speaker to check for correct connections. My two rear surround speakers were hooked up wrong and the Sony receiver gave me an error message. It didn't tell me which one but after looking it over I figured it out pretty quick. Plus it pushes sound out of each speaker during the test and I didn't hear it from the rear so that also helped. Great buy! **One thing I didn't know was that Best Buy will refund you if the difference if the item you buy is cheaper within the next seven days at their store. I'm sure there are exclusions but it worked for me. Best Buy refunded me the difference after I noticed the receiver was cheaper the next day. I thought I missed out but the sales guy told me to check during the next seven days and sure enough it had dropped $100!! So they did refund me which was nice**

I needed a 4K HDR receiver, and this fit the bill. Great price. Wish it had wifi connection to be able to get system updates, not that there are system issues that I've encountered or anything, it would just be nice, but I get you get what you pay for, can't complain. It does the job for my needs.

This receiver was very easy to set up. I connected to my existing speakers and the sound os great.
