This product is best for the average consumer, I am not interested in having a whole house stereo system or something that my neighbors can listen to. Instead, I want to have something that gives me options of inputs, the number of speakers, and at a decent price. This product does all of that.

Bought this to replace Pioneer model that died. Happy so far.

Though it does not have built in bass boost as in past models, the sound quality is good. For a medium price you can add a subwoofer. My only complaint would be that it takes about 8 seconds to activate after it receives the sound signal. I use it with my home theatre surround sound system.

I have had my receiver installed several weeks now, and the sound is great. I really like the way our 4K dvd player, 4K tv, and this receiver work together to provide the best sound, and picture. I can say my system has great sound. This is a dynamic home theater receiver, and I would recommend.

We ordered online during the holidays and got it quickly. Works great and had no issues with it.

It takes ok a while for us to hook the reciver up but I like the sound levels and it works great

Great sound but you have to buy does not come with speakers

A center speaker was recommended because we used the system for TV. Connecting was tricky, but Best Buy helped. We have some old components that are not compatible. I don't think there is an answer to this. But we now have blue tooth and a remote which our old receiver did not have.

First one had no signal on sub outputs. Returned it to store and exchanged it Nice store

I tried another brand's receiver and was unhappy with its reliability out of the box and the unhelpful customer support so that one got returned. This Sony receiver on the other hand did not have the same issues. It is the only receiver with volume controls that worked with my Sony TV interestingly. I tried other receivers and soundbars where volume control issues over HDMI ARC were unreliable and glitched. HDMI 4K is not reliable on this receiver depending on the source device the receiver port used. I opened up the receiver and found the HDMI traces on the PCB were not drawn to be very well length matched to each other so perhaps that may be the issue to signal sensitivity. Not too big of an issue as I don't rely on those ports anyway but it's a design oversight no doubt.

Low cost was major factor is purchasing this unit. Also the 7 channels and the Sony brand. Sony is just top notch equipment. Easy to set up and install. Works great with regular speakers. Gonna buy a Bose system later but it should definitely be capable of handling it. Well worth the money.

Upgraded to this from an old Phillips receiver from the 1700. With this upgrade my movie experience has went up 3 fold great clear sound no picture degrade issues (it's even made my picture better if anything) the power is over stated but there's enough to fill a room all in all a good buy

My current receiver died and this one is an excellent replacement. Easy to use and set up, the settings actually show up on the TV screen, I have never seen a receiver with on screen menus, so nice and easy to use! Great quality from Sony, works well, can have 2 subwoofers which is great!!

My buddy bought the 1080 and when I started comparing them, I saved a few bucks and went this way. My smart tv handles 90% of my video so I didn't need to pay extra for a receiver that did all the fancy pass-through stuff. This one is darn close to his for half the money

I updated my old receiver to this one. No complaints excellent, even better than my old one.

It was easy to hook up I have my own speakers only problem that I found on a remote control you push Bluetooth that doesn't turn on the app Bluetooth you have to get up and turn the knob to Bluetooth it paired up with my tablet I'm very happy with it so far

I needed a new receiver, and thiseas the next logical choice owning all sonys for a long time. It is a good receiver for the money, and has some great ffeatures. The only problem I have is, the output level isn't loud enough, making it hard to hear some movie dialog.

Bought a Panasonic 7.1 surround sound system about 7 years ago from Best Buy. I love surround sound so when the power supply went out, I searched for a replacement and found this Sony. It was highly rated and recommended by other users. ❤️ it. Actually works better than the Panasonic.
