I didn't realize the improvements that have been made in receiver technology since my last receiver. I mistakenly thought that old receivers were about equal to the latest versions, the only difference being the bells and whistles. Boy was I wrong. The difference in the sound between my old receiver and this one is really very noticeable. The only caveat I have is that I don't think I can connect up my old tape deck. I'll check with the geek squad to see if this can be done. Recording isn't as important as playing my old tapes which were state of the art and would supply me with hours of uninterrupted listening to classical music.

Good choice if you don't want to spend an arm and a leg to upgrade to a 4k receiver. Doesn't have Atmos but does everything else you need for adding great sound to your 4k TV.

Was super easy to setup and everything worked perfectly out of the box. Good quality on the 4kUHD video and the sound was amazing. Great price on the cyber Monday deals too.

I've had several Sony receivers and this one is my latest purchase. Overall I'm very pleased with the performance and ease of use from its predecessor. I use this to support a 5.1 system and also have video passing through. The previous sony systems were a nightmare to calibrate.... however the this one took less than 30 seconds. My favorite option is connecting media via Bluetooth. The sound and quality is short of none

So far it's what I expected. Display is a little outdated, but the sound quality makes it worth it. Not easy to figure out, but instructions are very helpful.

This reciever had exactly what I was looking for. 4K compatible...lots of power. Easy to understand the controls. I love the sleek black look of the SONY product.

Very easy to install and set up. Has ARC compatability as well as 3 other hdmi points do you can run your game system and video system like Apple TV through it.

Have no issues with this receiver and it supports the latest hdmi 2.0 4K/60fps connections. This is the receiver you want if you’re on a budget and have a 4K tv

This receiver replaced a $1,600 Sony receiver that got zapped during a lightning storm. The new receiver is wonderful . Great sound and easy to use. I love it.

I love this receiver! It has a great amount of power and all of the options are perfect for a small home theater. The Bluetooth option works great.

Looked at multiple independent review sites before purchase and it is all and more quality with exceptional power, nice look, and fair price.

Good sound, easy to use, easy to set up. Only downfall is that it shuts down if I turn it up over 3/4 volume. I like loud music from time to time and this will not work for me. If you're not looking to rattle the neighbors windows, this would be a great receiver. I'll probably need to spend two or three times as much for a receiver that will do what I want.

Really love this product. it was my first time setting up a receiver by myself and the process was super simple. After everything was set up I love the sound and the ease of switching between my PS4, Roku, laptop, and playing bluetooth from my phone. Forewarn though, you must purchase an HDMI and digital optical audio cable to have it all set up correctly. Also had a super hard time with the microphone auto setup. It could not detect any sound from my speakers during setup and kept giving me an error. But I'm still happy with it.

Was looking for inexpensive, quality receiver that I could setup for someone that would never make the step beyond a bookshelf, all in one tuner/CD player on their own. This receiver was easy to setup with an existing in wall home theater surround system. Bluetooth has been nice for music and apps on iPad and phone but wish there was a direct USB option.

Quality receiver at a great price, got it on sale for $199. Replaced an 8 year old pioneer model to support my new Sony 4K tv. Supplies way more power to my Polk audio 5.1 speakers. Looking into running them in bridge mode soon. Sounds amazing and set up was easy. I don’t bother with the mic setup and do things manually, but still simple.

great price during black friday and great sound so far and paired up the Samsung class 8000 65" led tv and Yamaha in ceiling speakers.

This is simply a great sound reciever for the price. Picked it up for $149.00 and it pretty much sets itself up. Very easy to set up

I wanted a basic receiver for surround sound, and I did not want to spend a bunch of money on extra "streaming" features. This unit was easy to set up, plugged directly into my new 4K tv with an HDMI cable, and powered my Yamaha 5.1 speaker set perfectly. It sounds great, and it has extra connections to upgrade to 7.2 sound in the future.
