Our old receiver kept getting confused but this one is great! Easy to set up and sound is good too!

This was replacing my last sony receiver that was 20 years old, so this was a big upgrade. Easy to set up, and works great with my TV. Kids also like the bluetooth to play music from a smart phone. Sound is great for movies and TV- I can hear the voices and the surround .

This, like most newer receivers, it has a little more than needed for a living room unit. I would buy another of these to use on our TV room theater system when I upgrade. love the USB and Bluetooth.the remote sometimes turns on the unit with the speakers off, can't figure out why. Bluetooth does not have a long distance range, but not really a huge problem. The retail in store price is the same as you will see this unit online at any source. A little higher wattage than most units in its price range. You can't really do better than Sony on most consumer products , anyway. Unless you desperately need 7 channel Dolby, this is the best and most affordable way to go.

Sound is great. Love playing music through the blue tooth feature. Very good value for the money spent. Best Buy employees were super. Young man that helped us was very patient and seemed to be quite knowledgeable. Brought it home hooked it to my speakers. It was a big hit with the family.

Power and sound for 4k is what makes this receiver a worthy buy. Know what you need and want first. The quality will last for longer than the usefulness of its features with evolving technologies. I have found though that the same can be said with receivers that can cost twice as much. For me, I expect I will have to consider the reality of upgrading a receiver when the TV gets an upgrade (even though I hope that isn't the case). The twice as expensive Yamaha I bought several years ago was 4k capable but turned out to be worthless in reality because at the time hdmi 2.2 wasn't the necessary standard. Having the balance of current features and sound is the primary focus on purchasing the right receiver and not features that justify a pricier tag that have not been widely adopted yet. In the spirit of getting what you need for a great price and enjoying current 4k content across multiple platforms, I would recommend this receiver.

I purchased this receiver after I purchased a Sony uhd 65" tv. I used it to hook up my 15 yr old wired speakers. I'm in the money. Sounds brand new and has interacted with each other seamlessly. Awesome

had my last sony receiver lasted for about 27 years quit working so I bought another sony

I used to have a Yamaha receiver, but after just 3 years the HDMI output crapped the bed and started throwing a solid pink screen every time I turned it on. I bought this to replace it and have been pleased. It’s a breeze to setup - it actually includes the calibration microphone, unlike others. The sound quality is also great with some quality speakers. Mine is setup 7.2 with 2 powered subwoofers.

Sounds great and easy to install. This is a nice addition to my home theater setup.

This is a mixed review. I'm using this unit with 3, 4 inch speakers in forced front surround configuration connected to my gaming desktop. Surround effect is decent for 3 speakers and no subwoofer. A nice feature is you can use a Bluetooth connected smartphone to control it or stream music to it.(NFC too) Now the bad, if you your considering this product for receiving radio broadcasts, don't. It only receives FM and it doesn't even do a good job at it. FM tuners/receivers usually come with a two screw terminal to connect an external dipole antenna. This one comes with a 6ft piece of wire with a proprietary connector. I couldn't even get good reception from a station down the road. On side note you need to turn this on first as it takes firmware a little while for the firmware to boot and the amp to kick in. Would recommend to friend if they don't care about the radio

This is a great movie unit for anyone. I have read reviews before a purchased and some of them were helpful and others I was miss informed. There is a bass and treble adjustment for this unit, some reviews that said it did not have. Setting up with the easy set up to adjust the speaker levels is great and the sound I have is great with the Polk audio speakers I got to go with it

I got this on Black Friday sale for $199 and as it turns out this is a great receiver for that price. This my 1st AV / Home-theater setup and so far I am very pleased. You can use the provided microphone for auto-setup but can always modify the settings manually later on to tweak as per your liking, the setup menu lets you manipulate the speaker distance in increments of + 1 inches, which is great !! The settings menu offers somewhat limited options, I wish that it will let me save few personalized speaker setup options, but not sure if that could be expected at this price point. I stay in an townhouse sharing walls on both the sides with the neighbors, so would never be able crack up this setup to its full potential anytime soon. Sony receiver sounds good and the price of 199 was great for this quality.
