Customers often highlight the excellent sound quality, ease of use, and Dolby Atmos capabilities of the 1155W 7.2-Ch. A/V Home Theater Receiver. Many also appreciate the receiver's power and straightforward setup process. While some users noted the unit can get warm during operation and that the menu system could be improved, the positive feedback on sound and ease of use outweighs these concerns for most buyers. The price point is also frequently cited as a positive aspect.

I bought this to replace an Onkyo 7.1 theater system. It has been wonderful. Recently added a Sony 4k tv and they automatically connected and now act as ONE unit.
Sound is amazing, auto sensing for inputs allows for optimum sound.
Great purchase

I don't like units that have to sit on top of the media console and the older Onkyo that I had was too big and would overheat if it was put within the console, so I swapped it out for a Marantz NR1508, which is a slim profile unit. I didn't think that Marantz compared to the Onkyo but wasn't sure if it was just my own bias. A few month later, my wife commented that she thought the sound didn't have enough power. For her to comment on that was enough for me to research and swap out the Marantz. I had narrowed it down to a different Onkyo or this Sony. Ultimately I went with the Sony because after watching set up videos, I liked the onscreen menu options that Sony has. It sounds just as good as the previous Onkyo but is still slim enough to fit within the console to give the clean look I was hoping to achieve. Setup was fast and easy and I feel as though a lot of the options it has helps future proof us if we decide to upgrade other components down the road.

It’s not a $3k receiver or like buying separates with a pre-amp, etc so don’t expect it to perform to that level. But it has a lot of power, features and sounds very good. I am watching a 4K movie with HDR that is being being through it to a new Sony TV and it’s awesome. A good receiver at a good price point!

Has all the latest network bells and whistles, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Menus are simple and easily understood. The sound is great at all volume levels.
My only minor complaint is the lag time in using the “home” menus.

I have used a variety of electronics over the past 40 years, with A/V tuners being a popular item on my list. In my opinion, Sony has always made leading edge tuners that are high reliability and high quality. This one is high quality as well as easy to use and set up.

Excellent receiver. Easy to use and sounds great. No issues during setup and works great with my TV’s eARC connection. Auto-calibration needed some post calibration to reduce over emphasis on bass and low on center channel. Overall a solid receiver.

Much more powerful than the entry-level Sony AVRs, this one does everything I need -- effortlessly. Powering 2 Bowers and Wilkins towers, 2 700 series Surrounds, and 1 REL Subwoofer is easily hanldled. User interface is easy to use as well! Great unit!!

This receiver has worked great so far. It was very easy to set up with the microphone supplied to calibrate all of the speakers. It was much easier and works far better than a Denon receiver that it replaced. I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Great equipment and easy to set up and install but there seems to be a decent amount of options that are hard to navigate and determine if they are even applicable for my setup. It works great with my Older 4K Sony Bravia and provides the power I need for my Klipsch reference speaker surround system.
