Got this along with a new Sony UHD TV and am very happy with it. Setup was super easy and the sound is great. Was looking for something simpler after leaving behind a built-in surround sound system when we moved, and this fit the bill perfectly.

I purchased this soundbar because the volume on my new Sony tv was terrible. I'm not hard of hearing and I could hardly hear what the people were saying on the tv. I got this tv on sale. This soundbar has been the perfect solution. The surround sound feature is amazing. This is one of the best purchases I've made this year.

We bought a new Sony 55” TV and this was on sale ($300 off) if purchased with the TV. I never had a sound bar system before, I figured during the pandemic I would go for it. The sound is great and we love it. Set up had a couple hiccups, but we got through it. Overall I’m very happy with it.

After buying and returning another soundbar and spending about an hour listening to floor models at my local Best Buy, I ended up taking home this setup and I have loved it ever since. I was hesitant because I convinced myself I needed a soundbar with a center channel speaker (i.e. a 3.1 setup), but to my ear this one sounded the best in my price range. Also, I got an open-box version for a little bit cheaper which was basically brand new and I've had no issues with it. As far as the sound, this unit has a lot of digital bells and whistles but I ultimately found that bypassing all the presets produced the most balanced, natural sound. I even have my vinyl record played hooked up and it sounds really good. If anything the bass could be a bit louder for movies but it is good enough for me, as I prefer a very flat, balanced sound. Overall I am very happy with this and I appreciate the recommendation from the store associate who helped me out.

Hi Rick, we're glad you like our product. The 2.1 channel Dolby Atmos/DTS:X soundbar with Vertical Sound Engine, our latest surround technology, lets you enjoy the thrill of Dolby Atmos from a single slim unit. No matter what type of room you’re in, two front speakers reproduce “vertical” audio, creating virtual surround sound that seems to come from all around you. Thank you for choosing SONY. ~Earl Sony_US

Great sound, fair price and I easy to setup. I had an issue with the speaker shutting down for months, but I messed around with the settings and now it works perfectly.

The highs come through really nicely and fill the room. For the lows on the sub, I have it maxed out and I feel for my tastes it’s not boomy enough(but for the price is not bad). I got this to match my Sony TV since I can control the sound bar and settings with my TV remote.

Really like the sound bar. Easy to set up and install with the Sony TV. Sound is good. But thought there would be a little more bass. The price was great. We got it on sale as a bundle with the Sony TV.

This sound bar is much better than my previous Vizio. It is just a soundbar and wireless subwoofer but it fills the room with surround sound without satellite speakers. It was $200 off plus I got another $100 off when I purchased it with my Sony television. An excellent value.

This is the best sound bar I’ve ever had only issues is it needs more than just 1 hdmi input other than that the sound it produces when watching tv/movies or when playing music is amazing.

I have never owned a soundbar in my life and in 2019 I decided to step into the 21st century. TV speakers are horrible, unless you buy certain Sony OLEDs. On doing research on soundbars, because if you're like me everything is important when spending money, I didn't see a definitive "best brand" or "best soundbar." I did a whole in home theater system for my place. So with that said, I started with a tv and matched from there. I got the Sony x900F, fantastic tv. This soundbar went directly with it and I have not been disappointed. It has a lot of different settings whether you want to hear it in cinema mode, sports, etc. It also does a great job of producing surround sound with the "vertical" bottom as it switches which speakers it comes out of. The subwoofers booms too. Played some music on it and it vibrated the whole floor. Love it and while bundling it with the tv, I got a better deal. No need to spend $1,000+. This is worth it!

This was my 2nd Soundbar I have bought and it’s a really good one. The quality is really good and the sound is really good as well. I really enjoy it and the price was reasonable. I definitely would recommend it for the basic user.

I came from a similarly priced, albeit older model, Sony soundbar with ARC. That soundbar supported Bravia Sync, which allowed me to control all aspects of the bar from the TV. This Soundbar, while a good quality, and certainly a higher price, does not have enough of the features I would expect in a soundbar at this level. There is no display on the soundbar, only a series of five indicator lights on the top of the bar itself. These are to indicate the input, a bluetooth connection, and sound level. To say that five lights do an adequate job displaying the appropriate information would be horrendously inaccurate. Even the visual menu (which must be accessed by navigating to the ARC channel on the TV) does not provide an appropriate level of detail to guide the adjustment of the parameters available on the soundbar. The user (un)friendliness of this soundbar leaves quite a bit to be desired, as you are left primarily navigating by ear. Fortunately, the sound quality is fairly good. Dialogue gets buried occasionally, but this can be remedied by the "Voice" function on the remote (but again, you'll need to be seeing the menu via the TV's input to tell whether it's on, and what mode the "Voice" function is in: high or low). The subwoofer has good response, and is wireless, so can be placed where convenient. Again, adjustment is an issue, due to the lack of a display, and night mode is a similar issue. Of note, Night mode is a fantastic feature. This is essentially a low pass filter that decreases low-frequency activity so as not to disturb those who may be sleeping or seeking quiet. The sole redeeming feature of this soundbar is the ability to passthrough DolbyVision and 4k60. Without this feature, the soundbar would have been returned with no further deliberation. Not only does it have the ability, it executes quite well, with minimal delay/loss on the way from the source to the display. Overall, if you've got the coin to jump to a soundbar with all of these features that includes a display and full Bravia Sync (HDMI control), make the jump. However, if you're looking for a good quality soundbar that passes through high quality video signal, this is a good option.

So far it is exceeding my expectations and sounds great in my living room with vaulted ceilings. Sound quality is crisp, clear and vibrant. This is the first Sony sound system I've purchased and the value for the sound quality is excellent.

Setup of the device was almost fail-proof. Sound Quality is exceptional, with the subwoofer providing much more bass than expected at the default level of 7 out of 12.

Purchased this with a Sony XBR900F and received an extra $100 off the already sale price. This isn't a completely knock your socks off home theater experience, but for the size and price it is absolutely no slouch either. Highly recommend!
