So i recently purchased the LG 55EF9500 Oled 4K tv which is the best Tv money can buy right now and i needed a good soundbar. I first purchased the LG LAS751M soundbar but it only had one hdmi input which did not meet my needs so i returned it and purchased this sony. First of all the Sound is amazing. It has 3 hdmi inputs so i can connect my comcast receiver, xbox one, and still have an extra free HDMI port. i love the fact that this soundbar has 3D, 4K, and 4K HDR passthrough which makes it future proof for the new 4k blu ray players to be released early next year. It decodes Dolby True HD and DTS-HD sound formats found on blu ray discs which the LG could not do and you can hear the difference. Bluetooth connected within seconds to my Iphone and music streaming sounds amazing as this soundbar does upscale your music to hi resolution audio. Sound overall is very balanced and it has plenty of low end power when needed. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a soundbar that has alot of high end features and amazing sound. I have the Sony NT3, LG 55EF9500, XBOX One and Logitech Harmony 650 remote controlling everything and the HDMI switching is quick and painless.

Replacing my Surround Sound

I purchased this, along with my 55" 3D Bravia TV, during the black Friday/cyber Monday sale, because there was a big discount when purchasing it alongside the TV. While I don't know if it is worth the original asking price of $799, I couldn't pass it up at the promotion price. Though it states it can playback up to 7.1 surround, which I don't exactly understand because it is a 2.1 system and does not allow for additional speaker connections, it can only playback 5.1 through the ARC(TV audio/control) connection. So I am using the 3 HDMI inputs/pass-throughs on the soundbar for my devices that are capable of outputting better than 5.1 audio to ensure that I get the best audio possible. There are a ton of features on this soundbar with the HDMI, 3.5mm audio, USB playback, NFC, and bluetooth. The only thing I feel it is really missing is the ability to rename the inputs to the device that is plugged in to them. Another weird thing is that Sony opted for moving the volume buttons to the right side of the remote to add subwoofer controls on the left side, which is unusual because my TV remote that is of a similar style and layout, has the volume controls on the left.
But what it all comes down to.... is the sound. All I can say is wow. I was shocked when I heard this in the store. Shocked enough to take down the old surround sound I already own and sell at 1/6th the price I purchased this for so I could have clearer, crisper audio with awesome bass to rattle the neighbor's apartment. If your Best Buy has this in stock, you should definitely test it out so you can bask in it's awesomeness.

Good sound and very easy to set up and use with a sony 4k tv. I was able to get this 1/2 price ($400) when I purchased a sony 4k tv . I don't think I would have purchased this at the $800 retail price. Makes for a very easy, clean install. The next model up is significantly better but also a huge step in price. Its sound is comparable with other soundbars in its price range but its nice when used with a sony product as 1 remote will work all equipment without programming any remotes.

It can play mellow, but it can rattle the room too. Clean lines, not to big on the bar, matches Sony 55in well. Woofer is not huge, but sounds big enough. I cannot go up too the max, it does the job at mid numbers of its loudness scale. I like how it puts out good sound for cable's Music Choice stations, in all their variety. Good price when on sale. Quality.

Walk in to bestbuy to purchase a HT-Ct380 actually found one that was displayed along with a ht-ct720 and ht-nt3 all 2.1 surround sound and was blown away by the sound difference now when I watch movies at home like mad max fury road it feels like I'm right there in the action plus games like fallout 4 come to life and the experience is better when listening to music it's has a upscaling that makes the tones more richer and immersive. the subwoofer has tone so low so clear it's literally shakes the room even at low volume. There are volume buttons for both the sound bar and subwoofer so those late night movies won't disturb family members/guests and neighbors and tons of other features like nfc 4k pass though.I recommend buying this product now or saving your money until you have enough. Rate 10/10*

We weren't even looking for a soundbar but the salesperson turned it on when we were looking at the TV to check for motion jitter, we were totally impressed with the sound. After we got it we realized that it would play sound from Bluetooth as well which it a nice feature. We have the subwoofer behind our couch, great for movies, can really feel it!

Our prior flat panels (Sony and Samsung) had both always had sound where you had to crank the volume to hear the conversations then turn it down for the noise and explosions. Purchased this sound bar with a new 75" from Sony (they often do special deals on sound bars with purchase of a TV). Sound is great and is used for everyday use not just movies or special occasions. Completely replaced the TV sound (you need to turn it down to 0 to avoid echo sounds), easily mounted on wall and can connect with a single digital audio wire between the TV and bar. Highly recommend a Harmony or other master remote to avoid the juggling necessary with the sound bar and TV. Would definitely recommend this sound bar (definitely do not think the next step up ultra $ sound bar is worth the extra considering how good this one sounds, but just my opinion)

This is an excellent product. I would really recommend this to my friends. Only one thing which I found was the lack of instructions.
If you are using HDMI cable to connect the sound-bar with your TV, make sure you are connecting HDMI on both ends that should say HDMI (ARC). Otherwise you would not listen any thing. Sony support line was good! Overall A++

This system was easy to set up and adds a depth of sound that you cant get from the speakers in a flat screen TV. The small wireless bass box can be adjusted to shake the pictures off the wall, or turned down to where it is just there when needed.

I'm fairly new to the 'sound bar' game, having spent most of my previous theater audio on full surround sound sets. This unit is solid, produces nicely for TV, movies, games. Easy enough to set up. I don't have any major complaints, other than this unit was pricey. ... a couple steps up from Sony's economy line (if one can call it that). I guess I had hoped to be a little more 'blown away ' than I was. Perhaps this is the nature of sound bars, idk.

The sound is awesome, the bass shakes the house, but setting it up was difficult. You have to use the downloadable app for it to work correctly and adjust the settings, I really wish the remote it comes with had more options and could do what the app does. Once getting it all set up it works great now, wasn't super easy though. Be sure you have a 4K tv also.

The sound is great. Seems like it should be a bit louder for 400W
Also seems a bit pricey. The Blu Tooth for wireless headphones is nice.

This sound bar has an OK sound, and is most useful in it's integration with the Sony TV I got. I originally bought this together with a Sony XBR65900C, because it was $200 less than the normal price of $799, if you bought them together. I ended up exchanging the TV because of light -bleed issues and light "haloes" in each corner. Beautiful set being so thin; but the design needs work. Anyway, I upgraded to a Sony XBR65950B, which cost $1000 more, but no light bleed issues. This being a much more expensive set, the built in sound is really good. Actually, much better than the sound bar. But it lacks the lows of the subwoofer, so I ended up keeping the sound bar. The wireless subwoofer is very convenient, in that you can place it anywhere and out of sight. Definitely not out of earshot though. Great rumbling lows to fill out the otherwise thin one-dimensional sound. This is not audiophile quality sound, but certainly nice enough for TV watching. Another nice feature is the Bluetooth capabilities that allow you to Google cast your iPhone/iPod music and Pandora through the sound bar system.

Went into buy a $300 system and walked out with this sound bar. Sound is like a high end stereo system and with a quarter of the equipment. Easy to set up and what is does for football is what large screen tv did. Clarity bass and mid range are the best. Listening to music is excellent without all the cords. 6 weeks in and I would purchase again. Fortunate I was able to go into the store and had a good sales person so I could compare all the bars available.

I bought this soundbar under a special promotion along with the 65" XBR65850C during Best Buy's pre-Black Friday sale. The sound from the TV was just ok, and the sound is great from the soundbar. I ended up upgrading the TV to the 75" version of the same TV and kept the soundbar. Another great feature is listening to music from my phone through the soundbar. Big sound from a small package.

The three HDM I ports make this speaker perfect for my situation . It was simple to set up and simple to operate . My Apple TV remote Also works to control the volume on the speaker . it also shuts off automatically when I shut down other components. The Bluetooth works great with my iPhone . It has screen mirroring capability but I have not been able to use this feature it doesn't seem to be compatible with my Apple products but it does work very well with the Apple TV .

All I have to say is wow. Who would have thought that a sound bar and little sub could put out as much sound as this does. And I've had huge Polk Audio floor standing speakers before. Also, the Bluetooth and WiFi make it easy to connect our computer and cell phones to it.

Great sound for 2.1 channel and they bundled it with my new TV which made it that much more affordable. Love the bass of the wireless sub woofer. Nice that you can sync your phone to it & play music from your play list.

Sounds good but hard to get hooked up instructions are not good I am not sure it is the best for our family I think we should have went with Samsung like we wanted before we talked in this unit by sales staff.
