I bought this item as an open box and I regretted it. I sent it twice to Geek Squad to have it repaired and the second time it came back it still had issues. When I first had it was fine. But after use for a few months it decided to take a dive on me. After complaining enough to Best Buy about it, they replaced it. I have had the replacement for about 2 months now, and it does not seem to have any issues yet. Hope it continues to fine.

I had purchased a stereo system from Best Buy some years ago however, the receiver blew... I was able to locate this received on sale which closely resembles my old receiver and was able to connect all devices has good am and fm reception and new tools !

I would rather have a four channel to channel work for my needs for a short time was easy to hook up and like all Sony products good-quality

I purchased this new receiver to replace an older version that finally quit working after 20 years of service. This newer unit had most of the same hook ups as the original model had using the old style push on connector wires to operate. I must admit that I agree with a few other reviewers that this model doesn't quite have the rich sound that the older units produced, It also does not have the Bass Boost button but can be adjusted by the remote. I still like the quality of Sony and the price was Excellent so overall was a good choice for the average music listener.

Bought this to replace a Carver receiver I bought in 1986 for about $700. I play it through Dynaco A25s bought in 1975. Still with the same cones. The Carver was magnificent. To be fair the Sony sounds really good. I was at first a little disappointed but the more I listen the more I like the sound. And I like it alot. The remote is a major plus. Use it as a 2 channel system rigged to my tv. Sounds way better than any sound bar system I have heard. So there you have it. Would like to give it a 5 but I was spoiled.

Not sure if it's the receiver itself or the speaker that needs to be changed. The output put is alright. But ended up returning this item and switched to wireless speakers instead. But my experience will and may be different from the others.

I’m not an audiophile, but moved into new residence and prior occupants left some working vintage Bose speakers. This unit was perfect for them. Good tuner, ability to have lots of presets and add simple CD player if want. Good buy.

This stereo was easy to set up and sounds great. I wish it would have a few more options such as a USB port but other than that awesome radio for the price

No frills, but clear crisp sound and plenty of power for the shop or house. Matched with Sony speakers and powered 10" bass amp I am very pleased.

Great receiver for my son's iPod and works well with only analog inputs, nothing fancy but effective with Polk bookshelf speakers. Sounds crisp at a great price.

We bought this receiver because I wanted a basic radio receiver I could add components to later on. It was on sale, and for the money, it's worth every penny! We bought a set of speakers for $49 to go with it, and I couldn't be more pleased.

Earbuds and Bluetooth are fine, but you cannot beat a real HiFi stereo system, even if you use it for streaming music. This Sony receiver is a great foundation for a modern setup. I still use and enjoy a vintage Pioneer receiver, but this really is a better solution for modern day listening options. You cannot find a better 2 channel stereo receiver for the price, especially if you manage to purchase at sale price. Buy it, get some Polk T50 tower speakers (on sale), and crank it up. You will love what you hear.

Quite satisfied with this stereo receiver. Used to power 2 older JBL tower speakers. Good sound and power for the $. Plus a remote.

Not the most modern, cutting-edge piece of gear on the block, but it's simple and intuitive to use with clean, transparent sound.

Super simple to set up. Works perfectly with my existing equipment. The FM radio plays all day long, doesn't heat up my cabinet and connects effortlessly to my other audio equipment. This is a great product!

Have no complaints I enjoy this receiver. It is a base model but if you are looking to just get music stations it fits the bill.

It's a stereo receiver with a remote. Great for the dorm or bedroom. Moderate power, decent sound with good speakers.

Good for a beginner stereo person. If you want/need more sound quality upgrade to a higher level receiver.

got this to watch movies in stereo at home. it is easy to set up and sounds great
