Good basic receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We use these for distributed audio systems in businesses. They are left on round the clock, playing the radio or other attached sources. Never had an issue with dozens of these that we have installed.

Great if you don't need the latest of everything
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I honestly don't care to have a 7.2-channel receiver whose 8 HDMI ports will do you no good because you can't get the receiver to work unless you connect it to an HD TV set. I am perfectly happy with 2.0 stereo sound. With that said, I do consider myself an audiophile, and I was skeptical whether this receiver, which is inexpensive by any standard, would deliver. It is one of the few choices that seem to be offered in today's market. Most receivers today don't even offer "native" connections for a cassette-tape deck. I do want to be able to still listen to my old tapes, even with a new receiver. (By the way, my tape deck is a Sony TC-KE500S.) Now this receiver has plenty of RCA jacks to hook up all I need, and then some! If you have "old-school" audio-system components with RCA-cable connections, then by all means, this is the receiver to go with. The sound quality is superb! Granted, I have Polk Signature S55 speakers, which work best when bi-connected (two sets of speaker cable each). So I did bi-connect the speakers to the two pairs of speaker outlets that come with this receiver. And the results leave nothing to be desired for high-end stereo sound in your living room. The signal-to-noise ratio is outstanding, and the controls have "user-friendly" for a middle name. What I especially like is that the master-volume knob doesn't move if you use the remote to adjust the volume. Right! Who needs that, anyway? I kinda wish this receiver came with a seven-way equalizer or so, rather than just bass and treble controls. But that's a small price to pay for the continuing ability to enjoy old-school hi-fi stereo audio.

Great value despite missing features.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the sale price, this was a good value. I do not regret it, however I do miss features I am used to. 100 % continuous volume, bass and treble controls, rather than the push button incremental choices. A blend control is not present either. The cable connectors are of the bare wire slot type, rather than the banana plugs or binding posts. That said, it is good clean power with a lot of headroom. Very good for the price.
