Needed receiver to increase volume of theater system and that worked with existing speakers. This fit the bill nicely.

Needed something to drive a set of bookshelve speakers for better audio from a flat screen tv. This receiver does it with ease. I'm using a set of Insignia branded speakers and even with these cheap speakers it sound great. If your in need of something that sound great and won't break the bank, this is it!

I had to return a defective Insignia™ - 200W 2.0-Ch. Stereo Receiver. Bought this Sony as a replacement. This stereo only lasted 5 months. Now it always turns off after 45 mins of use. I brought it back to Best Buy looking to get a replacement or spend a little more and exchange it for the better rated Yamaha. I was told by the store manager that this Sony model was no longer in their system so I could not return it or exchange it. He said that the only thing I can do is call Sony for warranty repair. I told him that the stereo is still on the BB website so it must be in the system. No go. SO I WOULD SUGGEST NOT TO BUY THIS STEREO. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RETURN IT, EXCHANGE IT, OR GET CREDIT FOR IT

For a $100 receiver I have no complaints about this Sony. It is a no frills unit that has given me no problems in the two months I have owned it. Powers two sets of Polk RTiA! speakers with good fidelity and clarity. Great for two channel movie viewing. Overall very pleased with the Sony.

Overall, I am happy with the purchase. Needed a receiver for audio to run a CD player and turntable through. It is being used in a fairly small retail shop and is pretty much what we needed. It has been used 6-7 hours a day since purchased and we've had no issues with it.

If you need a basic receiver that sounds great, this is a good choice. If you are looking to connect a record player, you should know that you will need a pre-amp or a magnetic induction needle to boost the phono signal going to the inputs. Otherwise, a great piece of equipment for the price.

The old AM-FM Receiver we had just started sounding fuzzy and staticy one day. So where to go to get a new one, Best Buy of course. Looked on line first, since we needed one that had the speaker in puts in a push in instead of a plug in. Found just what we needed and a great price. Thank You Best Buy.

this replaced a very old receiver I had. this works great and have had no problems at all. well worth the money

Purchased this unit for my daughter. Her old reciever died. The unit fit in where the old unit was. My daughter then bought a six dics player and a turn table. The old Sony used a ribbon type cable to connect other units. The new Sony uses Rca cables. She really enjows her new stereo system.

Bought this to replace my marance that shot stopped working after35 years of service . This one has a remote control and works great although u have to use the remote to adjust the balance and do a lot of other things like vcr's or CD player or phonograph .easyto set up great unit.

We bought this to simply run sound from an iPod to our in-wall speakers. The sound is great, the function fine, but it just seems there should be an easier way of hooking up devices to it, and the controls, like all receivers are difficult to figure out. I always feel like I am not using it to its fullest potential.
