good sound. nice bass & treble.i am hard of hearing and can still hear it thru out the house on 25 - 30 percent volume. you can hook up just about every thingto it. tv, dvd, cd player, tapes and other things.

Didn't want a lot of bells and whistles, just a solid unit for my home. Sounds good thru jbl tower speakers and nice I can run mp3 player thru it. All my previous Sony equipment last well, so expect this unit to be as reliable.

Was on sale and was exactly what I was looking for.

Its a great reciever. But does not compair to the same one i bought in 2000 from best buy. The old one had more bass. And it gave me 17 years of great service. I hope this new one will also.

This is my first "smart" phone.and it is easy to learn how to use.

I am 100% satisfied with this product and think it is a great buy.

Apparently the people who gave this a good review have no idea what good audio is supposed to sound like. I was shocked and appalled how bad this unit is. The bass is NON EXISTENT and the highs aren't crisp. All we hear is mid-range. Apparently people are so accustomed to listening to music on their phones and other portable devices they don't know what a full dynamic range of sound is supposed to be like. I own an indie label and am involved in music production so know EXACTLY what instruments I used on tracks. I could not hear the cellos or much percussion on this, the higher end was missing too. I realize this was not an expensive piece of audio but it at least should perform far better than this! I returned this Sony to the store for a refund, then plugged in my 1970s era Marantz to the same set of Bose speakers and was blown away by the BEAUTIFUL sound that poured forth, including rich bass and detailed highs. What a disappointment Sony has become. Buy something vintage before wasting your money on this piece of junk.

Although this is very basic it was exactly what I needed.

Mom's early 80s Sony tuner/amp finally went silent. I went to Best Buy, thought about another brand, and then a Best Buy associate told me this model was on sale. Bingo! Sony quality at a great price. Done!

Great receiver to drive outdoor speakers with a CD player

I wanted to get my system back and running now that records are back in but my receiver was no good so looked everywhere to find something that would work with my turntable and this worked great for what I needed.

For a simple stereo receiver it is very good. The controls are simple. There are multiple connections for various components. Very strong radio receiver. Had it for about a month now and it works perfectly.

I like this receiver well enough that I own three of them.

Good sound for a small receiver, that was the purpose of the purchase. Since i am old school I like the fact that it has the treble and bass controls, beats equalizer presets that new systems have, blah.

Everything works as advertised but lacks any low end punch like the Sony STR-D390 it replaced. Will probably repair old faithful and retire this purchase.

Audio quality is excellent. I purchased to have music for the holidays at the office. Paired with 4 ceiling speakers and sounds fantastic. My only complain is the lack of Bluetooth capability.

I wanted just a stereo that would allow me to play music around the house. This stereo does that so while working around the house I can listen to music in every room. I had to install Speaker switch box bot it is handling it great.
