Great non surround sound receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A decent lower end receiver for audio only. There is no video inputs or switching, but for what you're getting for the money still a great deal. I needed something just to provide music on the deck outside the house. I'm not using any surround sound features so this receiver seemed like a good choice. I didn't want to invest too much in the receiver as it's going to be located outside in a waterproof enclosure. I'll have to wait and see how well it holds up to the temperature ranges outside, however so far it's doing well and sounds great.

Amazing Receiver for the Price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this receiver to complete a sound system setup for my TV. I had 2 1978 Genesis V6 speakers that I needed a receiver for and, after some searching I found this one, at 100 dollars, it is an absolute steal. I hooked up my TV and game consoles to it and it sounds amazing. The added 3.5 mm audio jack is a plus for when my friends want to play there music when they come over. Unless you need a to hook up a large number of speakers and/or have a need for a 5.1 or 7.1 channel system or the like, this receiver is fantastic.

This receiver is exellent!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace my receiver when my old Sony completely stopped working. I chose this one after reading some reviews and most people gave it a good rating and the price was within my budget. It's a great receiver and easy to operate and we like the remote capability. I had great luck with Sony before, the old one was 18 years old! That says a lot for reliability. Thanks for a great item and hope to enjoy this one for another 18 or so years.

Great price but limited capabilities.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This stereo system will work good with most up to date equipment; however, it does not have a built in amplifier to run a turntable that does not have an amplifier. Sales person did not know that this unit did not have the capability to support all turntables.

Great 2-channel Stereo Receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a 2-channel stereo for playing FM radio, CD's, Cassette tapes, and to connect my internet radio receiver to. It sounds great and works flawlessly! I bought it to replace a Sony receiver that was 20 years old on which the on-off switch died. Great value and Sony quality... Note this is now a surround sound home theater receiver, but it is for music and it works great for what it was designed for. It's a Sony, and you can't go wrong!

Good beginner receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for my son for Christmas as a basic receiver as he wanted a turntable to play his vinyls. After having various receivers for the past 35 years including Denon, Pioneer, Sony and JVC, I can verify this is a good basic receiver and is perfect for his needs. It doesn't have the soundfield settings, power and multiplicity of inputs you would expect in a more expensive receiver but what do you want for $100?

Basic 2 Channel Receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife needed a relatively inexpensive, straight forward, no bells and whistles stereo receiver for her office. There aren't too many choices in this category and the reasonably priced Sony fit the bill. It's too bad there's no 'Loudness' setting to boost bass at lower listening volumes - seems that feature is largely a thing of the past - but it is what it is. She's happy with it.

Nice Features...Nothing Fancy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased for a small office for the primary purpose of playing CD's. More features than needed, but works well...sound quality is good through the Polk bookshelf speakers purchased at the same time. A bit disappointed that the remote is not compatible with recently purchased Sony disc player...would have been convenient to have all functions for both devices on one remote. Still, happy with purchase.

Excellent basic stereo receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this receiver for a couple months now, and I'm very happy with it. Keep in mind that it's pretty old-school (no HDMI or digital optical inputs if that's what you're looking for). But I think it sounds great, looks good, and it has many available inputs (mostly rca). If you just want a basic stereo receiver, I highly recommend this one!
