Sony audio equipment is packed with lots of features and power for an affordable price. Except for playing movies, stereo sound is all we would need for everyday playing any kind of music from the classical to popular. I would definitely recommend it for personal or professional use.

I had a combo bookshelf system that quit after 10 year so I decided to build a component audio system for my study and the center of the system is this receiver, Excellent sound quality, very well made and easily audiophile caliber of 15 years ago, I highly recommend it for those who still enjoy good stereo music.

Good system,inexpensive, needs a better antenna,fills aneed

After reading reviews and examining this receiver in the store I purchased it. It is easy to work the remote. We have it hooked up through some bookshelf speakers and use it to play music from the radio as well as CDs. We also use it to play the audio from the TV when we watch movies. So far it's worked great. It was also on sale at 1/3 off so we got it at a very good price.

This a basic 2.0 Stereo amplifier/receiver. We wanted a simple stereo setup to go with the sony flat screen and blu ray we had in our bedroom. The unit has the ability to easily connect the TV and Disc player. In addition we are able to connect our mp3 players, tablets, etc. and listen to AM/FM radio (don't forget to buy an antennae! ) The final bonus is, since our system is all Sony, all the equipment can be controlled with just the TV remote. The sound from this unit is straightforward...meaning, what goes in, comes out. 200w is more than adequate and will drive bookshelf to mid-sized speakers. There are treble and bass adjustments for basic sound contouring. You can have up to 4 speakers operate at once with A/B switching. We recommend this for someone that needs a simple stereo unit that will allow connections for all their essential peripherals. This item does not allow a sub woofer.

I bought the receiver to use only with my CD player, however, I am glad that it has all the other options. I can hook up my DVD player and turn my basic TV viewing into a home theater. It is simple to set up. It is simple to operate. It is simple to use. I have no regrets and highly recommend this Sony receiver to everyone.
