I was looking for something simple but quality to play podcast and music in my garage, but didn/t want to invest a ton on money for garage music. So that means walmart china garbage is out of the picture, no quality there or lasting value, nothing worth while. I went to Best Buy and they had this sony receiver, on sale, that was high quality and affordable enough for the garage. I paired it with four set of outdoor speakers and WOW, sounds great in the garage. The 10 year old Pioneer receiver in my basement stoppped working so I had to replace it. I wanted a simple 2 channel unit just for listening to FM radio and playing CD's. This Sony was perfect for that. It has easy to use controls and great sound.

Bought this for my Dad, who likes to listen to classical LPs. Replaced some worn out hi-end equipment (preamp + McIntosh receiver). He loves the simplicity of the setup and the sound quality. Note that this unit does not have a phono input, so it will only work with turntables that have line (aux) output. His does, but it took us awhile to figure it out.

I bought this receiver for my record player. My record player was a Sony from the 80s and I was unable to hook it up to the receiver. I had to purchase a new Sony record player. But it has great sound so I am happy with both purchases.

Need to replace an amp for my outdoor speakers. Did not need a lot of power and this was going to be kept "outside" so did not want to spend too much. Perfect little amp at a perfect little price. Does the job perfect.

The unit is small - it fits perfectly in the tight space that I had for it. I use it for the two zones of outdoor speakers - so I didn't need anything complicated. It's a great value - but it does only stereo (no surround sound).

I use this product to supplement the small speakers in the HD TV. It was a replacement for an old receiver. I consider it a basic receiver. Has enough connections to accomplish what I needed it for at a reasonable price.

No setup problems or any operation problems in the first month. Using the amp daily to drive external speakers from my TV. Greatly improves the sound over the builtin speakers. Excellent tuner for both am and FM.

I needed a new receiver to run my CD player through my stereo system. It was perfect for my home and works to perfection.

Was replacing an old Philips receiver / amp, and looked around for something a little more "old school" - and this did the trick. Plenty of inputs and outputs for older audio equipment as well as newer video equipment. Multiple outputs so I could power remote speaker and feed signal level to a separate amplifier in the basement. Sounds good, power good, receiver seems to pick up the lower power stations in the college / public band with a simple antenna.

I purchased this receiver specifically to hook my turntable and cd player to it. It handles both devices great and the sound quality is fantastic. Even if I wasn't on a budget, I'd recommend this receiver.
