I need to get a phonograph to play records and a cassette player that are compatible with this receiver now

Sony quality, familiar controls (we have a full featured model as part of our primary system). Best of all it fits on the bookcase shelf! Only would wish for a digital input, all analog RCA plugs and most DVD players now have only digital sound. But for a small system, a nice unit.

I took about two weeks reviewing multiple receivers with two channels and decided to go with this Sony. It had all the simple requirements I wanted. I did not need all the hdmi cables and the surround sound features, all I needed was to hook up two sets of speakers in order to hear music in my garage. The sound is great and I recommend this receiver if you want to just have music to listen to. And the price was just right, under 100 dollars.

This Sony receiver is everything you need for the price. Very easy to set up and the instructions were clear an concise. The sound quality is comparable to products for twice the price. I set it up with my turntable so I can listen to all my classic vinyl. Tape cassette deck is next!

I used this to plug a laptop into to play music through 4 ceiling speakers in a small store. Sound is very good and has more than enough power for my needs. I bought it for a single purpose and have not used features other than to amplify the line out from the computer.

Serves all basic needs. Only drawback is that it doesn’t have “phono” input for turntable.

One of my 32 year old Bose speakers died. The input controls on my 15 year old Sherwood receiver were becoming twitchy and unreliable (the remote had been useless for years), so I decided to purchase a low end component receiver and this model was on sale that week. First, the cons: there is no available output for a subwoofer, but I understand that capability can be improvised with one of the 2 speaker set outputs. There is no bluetooth connectivity. With smart TVs and TV dongles that interface with wifi, you can stream any audio into just one of the available pair of RCA jack inputs. I don't bother with trying to pull in a radio signal because I can stream any station into the receiver with wifi. I can stream out any of the mp3 playlists on my computer in another room in the house to the receiver. This receiver delivers great sound from this simplified audio interface.

Works great in our office for FM music or running my ipad into it for all of our overhead speakers!
