I did a lot of review reading and asked many different Best Buy representatives what they would recommend for a projector and every time they said this one. Now I know why. You won't regret it.

The picture quality is excellent. We only used it without the screen so far (it just arrived). Easy to connect to and adjustments were minimal to get us going.

You can show a movie to friends and they will honestly NOT realize this isn't one of Sonys top projectors. Gret performance!

It is now 1 year exactly that i own this beautiful projector! I had no issues since but still is like new as there is about only 500 hours on the lamp! I use it strictly for movies, very little sport but let me tell you the image, colors, contrast, black level is excellent, it is better than any led tv out there, you can sit anywhere and get a perfect picure, at 10 feet projecting in a 92" inches projector screen, image is extremely clear, close to 4k!! Colors are deep and rich , natural tones, blacl level is not the darkes but very very good !! I returned 3 projectors and this one was a keeper, best projector you can get at that prive range.....

Fantastic projector, was told it came with an international warranty, however, it does not. Customer service told me I can jump on a plane with it and come back to the US if it breaks, thanks, don't think they will pay for my ticket though!

I was debating on getting the Sony vs the Epson 5030. Epson is a solid brand and had a good Sound & Vision review, May 2014. All the user remarks pointed me to the Sony. I looked at both at different stores to get a different perspective and went with the Sony. The picture, to me, has more depth.

I stepped up from an Epson 8350 to this Sony 40es. Wow what a difference. The Epson 8350 is a good projector, but this Sony 40ES blows it away. I am projecting it in a living room with minimal light control on a 106 inch, 1.8 gain screen. It looks like I am watching a 106 inch plasma even at high noon on a sunny day. I have had to do no adjustments to get an almost perfect picture. The 3D is easy to set up and very effective. I use inexpensive Sony Play station glasses and they perform fantastic. Detail enhancement, contrast enhancement, frame interpolation all work as advertised. With all the former enhancements turned on the picture looks very 3 dimensional even with out the 3D turned on.. I am very happy with my purchase and with my Best Buy financing.
