Picture is bright and crisp. I love the sound that comes directly from the screen. But I run most of the time through my sound system. I would like to know how to fine tune some of the features. The 3d appearance from the display processing has my wife hating this tv. I imagine there is a way to tune this down, but no doc on that. I also set up the cable, but for a different HDMI port since I have comcast, and not sure best way to correct that. Maybe just move HDMI cable? But, I dont want my wife to HAVE to figure out google tv on top of comcast. Not sure if I want to run through google tv or through cable box. Doc on benefits of each would be great. I have not been able to get sound from TV back to sound system through digital fiber optic cable. I have a pretty extensive system, and purchased this tv since it has the best display for a 48" screen and was replacing a plasma. Maybe should have gone w LG? I hope this lasts as long as the Panasonic plasma it replaces.

Brightness is really low

For low ambient lighting conditions, it performed well. Overall this TV is not for me.

The 30 days are almost up, I check daily, and that has not happened. That now makes me a dissatisfied customer.

My last SONY device

Short story: I’m using this TV as a computer screen and it is not able to show a full 4K image, it keeps cropping pixels at the top, bottom, left, right or a random combination of it. Sometimes it shows snow or a black screen only and you have to restart the TV (restart, not power off/on). The SONY support first blamed me and my devices, then NVidia and then they admitted that this is a known issue and they are looking into it. Another feature I don’t like: the TV dims down, if there is no (or not enough) movement and you cannot disable this. It’s apparently to protect the OLED panel, but it means that the TV dims down, while you are writing something, for example this review. Typing is not enough change, apparently. So every few minutes you have to move a window around on your screen in order to “wake it up” again. I’m very unhappy with this TV, to say it politically correct. SONY customer support: "We don't offer refunds or replacements!". Unfortunately, I'm out of my Best Buy return window and now I'm stuck with a $1300+ TV that does not even show a 4K image properly. My last SONY device, thank you SONY, goodbye SONY! Long story: I bought this TV last December to use it as a computer monitor. Soon after using it, I realized that pixels are cropped randomly at one or more sides of the image. The cropping changes while I’m using it. The pictures I provided are taken within a couple of minutes while just letting the computer and TV sit, not doing or changing anything. I tested two different computers, one Windows PC with Nvidia GPU and one Ubuntu laptop without GPU (Intel Xe graphics), both show the same issue on this TV. I tested and used both computers with other TVs and monitors and do not have any issues. I tried all kind of settings on the TV, but nothing helped, so I contacted SONY. I told all support people what I just wrote and what I tested. They all asked me, if I could test it with another device. Didn’t I just explain to them that I already did this? Are they not listening to what I say? 1st level support: After long back and forth and discussion about testing different devices, this clueless person gave up and transferred me to the 2nd line of defense … 2nd level support: Repeating the whole story and the whole discussion about testing a different device, he ended up blaming my devices and Nvidia for it. How can it be Nvidia’s fault, if my Ubuntu laptop does not even have a GPU? One wonders … He took my data and promised a 3rd level support call, which happened a day later. 3rd level support: At this point you might guess, yes, we are going back to square one and telling the same story again and having the same discussion about testing different devices … until we come to the point where he admits, that this is a known issue and they are working on it. Oh, wait, what?! It is not me, not my devices nor Nvidia suddenly, but a known issue?! When will it be fixed? No idea. Will it be fixed? No idea. Well, I do not want to hope and wait. After all I paid $1300+ for this TV and I would prefer my full 4K image and not just some part of it, depending on how the TV feels. At this point I would prefer my money back, I said … so I’m transferred the last level of defense, the customer relationship person. Same story, so sorry, but we do not offer refunds or replacements, wait for an update! Yeah, thank you SONY! After having numerous SONY devices, TVs and PlayStations among others (basically a new TV every other year), my journey with SONY ends with this TV. I could have saved hundreds of dollars, if I would have bought the LG 48” OLED 120 Hz TV, but I went with SONY. SMH. I won’t make this mistake again. Thank you SONY, it was nice as long as it lasted and came to this TV. Goodbye SONY, hello LG, hello Samsung.

In most cases, the quality of the picture that is displayed on the TV screen depends on the source. The higher that resolution means that higher quality of picture to appear on your TV screen plus upscaling. Does this issue happen when you try other inputs? Does this happen when you watch from your streaming apps like Netflix or Disney Plus? Are you using a high-speed HDMI cable? As for the dimming, as it turns out, this is a feature to protect the panel. It is not a malfunction. In the meantime, make sure turn the Auto-update feature of your TV to on so that you'll get notified once there's an firmware update for your TV is available. Again we apologize for the inconvenience.

First my tv was picking up my PS5 HDMI input now my tv was displaying a screwed up image. I pretty much use this thing everyday. Switching to LG C2. Good tv but it’s giving me issues.

Best TV I've Ever Owned!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought our 48" Sony Bravia A90K from Best Buy about a year ago, and it's by far the best TV I've ever owned! I would have opted for a 55" or larger screen, but my wife didn't want a larger screen dominating our living room -- so this size is a perfect compromise. I absolutely love the Sony picture quality -- stunning color and clarity. I tweaked the settings using most of the recommended calibrations provided on the rtings website (https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/a90k-oled/settings) with just a few of my own brightness modifications added on. We watch TV mostly in a darkened room at night, so the brightness level this model achieves is absolutely great. The sound is not bad on its own, but I added a Sony soundbar which includes a sub-woofer on the floor -- and it really makes a huge difference. And finally, I'm a big fan of the Google TV OS. My son has an LG TV, and I absolutely hate the WebOS on that brand. Google TV is much more user friendly -- especially when you want to play around with the settings. Yes, the home screen has too many ads that clutter things up. There is an "Apps Only" mode that gets rid of some of the clutter. However, a better solution is an app I downloaded called "FLauncher" (see photo) which gives me a clean totally ad-free home screen showing nothing but my apps. I highly recommend this Sony Bravia TV! It's not cheap, but worth every penny!
