Good tv, it works and looks good if you put 4k or lower quality input on it. Try 4k, 1080, 720 or even lower quality and it looks decent. Happy from my good upscaling tv purchase.

This is our second Sony 4k tv. We use own Samsung tvs, but after the last Samsung died less than 5 years old, it was time to go a different direction. The first Sony 4k tv was purchased in June 2014 and is still our living room tv. This 4k replaced the bedroom tv (a 2-3 year old LG. The LG was a Samsung replacement). When the LG lost its picture I knew I would replace it with a new Sony 4k. The set up was easy out of the box and the picture is beautiful. It has a new pairing method using IR. For Dish Network subscribers, it finds the guide easily enough, but you cannot control the channel changing with the Sony remote. I spent several hours on the phone with tech support with no resolution. The Dish software won't completely pair so you can use the Sony remote. I can use the Dish remote to control the Sony TV, but I like the Sony remote better. I think the technology is a little further along on the Sony than with Dish. This wasn't deal breaker, but it would have been nice. For4K Firestick users, this tv has several HDMI inputs, however I had to move the Dish HDMI from the primary #1 slot to another available spot, as the 4k fire stick is rather large and can only fit in the #1 HDMI slot. Its annoying but again, not a deal breaker. These are not inexpensive tvs and they really don't go on black friday sales like Samsungs. I have replaced 4 Samsung tvs over the course of 9 years, 1 LG and 1 Toshiba, I have replaced zero Sony Tvs in 4 years. Only 4 rooms have tvs.

Im very happy with this tv. It was pricey but side by side it only gets beat by full led, This has 4 quadrants. So nice feature is if the tv is off and I use the roku the tv turns on to the roku. Only downside is the remote. Not only is it disorganized but I find it hard to read and its so skinny that I cant hardly hit a button without using my other had to either readjust the remote or just 2 hand it. Bad remote. Fast, smart tv

bought this yesterday. It was easy to setup, of course it always takes a little time to figure out where everything is, but I didn't really have to change many settings to have it look good. The sound is fine (bought it for the bedroom) I am happy I don't have to buy a sound bar. I'm going to look for a universal stand though so I can get it higher. Gave it 4 stars because of the price. Expensive! Also hate the remote, should have a back light on it.

This is my 2nd X900F Sony. (And 7th Sony TV). The 65 inch X900F is my living room TV and I loved it so much that I had to grab the 49 inch for my bedroom before it was gone. This is the only actual 120hz tv below 55 inches from any brand on the market. All other models are 60hz even if the larger sizes of the same model are 120hz. The full array backlighting gives amazing black levels and bright highlights that give the detail in both bright and dark parts of the picture that you'd expect from a premium LED TV. As always, Sony's color is accurate, realistic, and 2nd to none! Android TV OS is a breeze and was a massive upgrade from the Roku I was using on my old Sony XBR9 (circa 2010) that I replaced with this model. The old Sony I replaced is still kicking and now has a home on my office wall. Sony can't be beat!

I purchased the 49" version of this Sony and have no regrets. It was a substantial upgrade from my 12 year old Samsung which was near the top of the line in its day. While their are even better technologies available starting at a 55", if you have limitations on how large you can go and need stay = <50", you won't find a better TV. My intention was to buy a TV for around $500 on Superbowl weekend and had done some serious research on 50" TVs starting about 19 months ago. The X900F kept coming up as the top 49-50" TV and every time I visited Best Buy, I would browse new TVs and consistently was drawn to this model. While BB had several great deals on low and mid level 4k TVs, I quickly realized you get what you pay for and decided to up my budget after seeing a higher quality Samsung in the $600-$700 range which then lead me to the $700-$800 Samsung. Both were impressive in picture quality and features, but the more expensive Samsung was definitely worth the extra money. But when now looking to spend at least $800, it was time to make the jump to $999 and get the TV with the highest quality in this class and I am so happy with the purchase. Of course, with this upgrade, within a week I was back to purchase an new AV receiver to start upgrading my home theatre system so that I can fully experience the new world of 4k this TV as opened up. Why only 4k? The fact is while I am totally stoked about this model, the technology available starting at 55" is better and because I do not have the space for a 55"+ TV I am a little frustrated that it isn't available in a 49" model

This TV is amazing! It has great colors, handles fast moving objects like a champ. The picture details are not washed out. The only thing holding it back from perfection is blooming, but at this price point, it is acceptable.

I was hesitant to purchase an out-of-the-box television however it seems you just can’t go wrong with a Sony. Picture is great, hook up was easy, and paired with the sound bar makes you feel like you have your own private movie theater. Dark scenes are a little hard to make out but I have yet to find any TV that gives good video with dark movie scenes. Built-in speakers are better than I expected for a flatscreen. I love the swivel feature of the screen, especially when you need to turn the screen away from sunlight coming in through the windows. The built-in apps are all easily accessible. I love my new TV!!

I had a more budget friendly TV before. I believe it was a 43 in but going from that to a 49in 4K with HDR, WOW. This was the most I could afford and would fit in my room, otherwise the 55in is definitely the model to get. The colors just seem more natural out of the box with no fine tuning of colors needed. You can calibrate to get that extra pop but it is not necessary. I will say the best feature I saw was the upscaling from 1080p and even 720p. Made my older DVDs look like they could almost be blurays (not in terms of the high quality but the fact that they didn't look blurry or blown up out of proportion) they just looked good. 4K movies are beyond amazing. I haven't tested out Dolby Vision but need to get a player that supports it. I highly recommend it.

After extensive research, I selected the Sony 49” X900F over much cheaper Samsung and LG equivalent models. Powering on the Sony goes to cable TV rather than a screen filled with useless Apps. The installed Sony Apps, that I subscribe to, include Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Now. All the Apps are easy to access by selecting the App button on the remote. Color, contrast, clarity and the picture in general are excellent. Viewing angle is not as wide as my 2013 Panasonic 55” Viera plasma TV, but new plasma TVs are no longer available. The viewing angle seems better than Samsung TVs when compared in a Best Buy store. I am currently using the built in speakers until I buy a digital to analog converter to connect to an existing Denon audio receiver.

So far I am very impressed with it. It is really bright so I have no issues during the day and I have the TV right next to 3 windows. The picture quality is amazing, with vibrant colors and the motion smoothing is very good as well. The only downside is that the android OS is a little slow at times but it is nothing that will make me throw a fit. The built in chromecast is also very convenient, as I have an android phone and a goggle home mini so I can connect to everything very quickly. Overall, great TV!

I bought this tv almost four months ago. I saw it just before the pandemic happened and I loved the richness of the colors. I snatched it up on sale shortly after the COVID-19 shut down happened. This tv replaced a tv I've had since college that is slowly starting to die. My Sony tv is phenomenal. I love watching everything on this tv. Again, the color and picture quality were perfect right out of the box. Now I completely understand why everyone loves Sony so much. I look forward to purchasing another one for my home office in a couple of months.

Our first flat screen which got moved to the bedroom finally bit the dust so we needed a replacement that would fit the available wall space and make the most of the comcast cable connection. This TV was recommended. The install went well and we are happy so far. I was able to connect to the internet and watch GSN (Genesis Science Network) - a bonus. The only issue is that we were spoiled by the Comcast remote which lights up so you can see what buttons you are pushing without having to turn on the lights. Handy since now there are 50+ buttons to contend with... Otherwise, no complaints so far.

The picture is excellent on this TV, even when viewed from an angle. The colors are much more realistic than the over-saturated Samsung 7000 series TV I returned. I use a mix of inputs, including broadcast and the up-scaling is quite impressive. I am enjoying it and plan to keep it for a long time, but the things that I wish were better are: 1. Android TV OS is not as intuitive as the Samsung interface 2. The remote could be laid out better 3. There is no web browser built-in (although one can be downloaded)

There is simply no other TV in this size Class that can match the brightness and clarity of this Picture. Manufacturers are all focused on new tech of QLED or OLED, for the the 55 Inch or larger. For those of us that have a limited space and don't want feel like we are in a drive in theater in the small living room. Having a high performance tv in this size with out it dominating the space is fantastic! I highly recommend.

The picture quality and colors are awesome on this Sony TV. I just wish the manufacturer had the tv on a pedestal base rather than the wide legs.

This is a nice Sony unit with decent sound for an LED. The picture quality is actually better than Samsung QLED, but not the quality of LG OLED, I needed a good quality TV that was under 50" and this unit replaces my older Sony which I'm now using in the bedroom. I'm using an exterior speaker system with the new TV, but that is because sound matters very much to me. It was easy to set up and now I don't even need to use my Amazon stick since it is already on the TV along with many other apps. When this unit is on sale it is a good deal.

I got this on sale (about $300 off) so I purchased it because I’ve always liked the Sony brand. The Sony’s I’d see in stores always looked just a little sharper and clearer than others in its class. I am not disappointed at all with the picture or performance, in fact it’s the best TV I’ve ever owned. There are just 2 things I don’t care for. One, is the remote. It has a two sets of buttons in the main control circle. They are so close together that you can easily hit the wrong one, especially if you have big fingers like me. The other thing is the price. Even with my almost $300 off on this set, it still costs more than similar models. But if you like the Sony brand and have the patience, I suggest you wait for the price to go down.

This is a nice TV. I am happy with the color and brightness. It can be quite bright, if that is important to you. The images are crisp. I will note that there is some haloing visible when the background is all black except for a small image like a logo or something. It does not impact general program viewing. The sound is good and loud enough that we do not need a soundbar. The remote is handy and the operating system is easy to use. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 just because of the haloing, but I would buy this TV again. The price was decent.
