I've had the pleasure of owning both the 55 and 65 inch Sony 900 4k models. First please note that Sony has 2 different manufacturers making these panels. I didnt think this would matter but I'd like to point out some differences I noticed. The 65 inch handles motion considerably better than the 55 inch. The 65 inch is 120hz and the 55 inch is 100hz. (research this). With the 55 under all motion settings there is a streaking/blurring on the image on less than 4k content i.e. Bluray, cable, etc. Also, there are horizontal lines that are more noticeable on the 55 inch when watching 3D. On the 65 inch however, I never noticed these lines and it was simply the best and most comfortable 3D I've ever seen. The 55 inch does exhibit better uniformity on black scenes than the 65 inch which seems to suffer from clouding and/or grey patches on scenes with black bar content. Contrast isn't that great on either set but is on par with other edge lit LED brands. Both sizes have amazing color, resolution and in particular the sound which is the best I have ever heard on any TV. With their not being as much content available right now for these TVs, I honestly think the price/value is too much over 1080p sets right now. The sony sets are supposed to be upgradeable via firmware to the new HDMI 2.0 standard but you'll have to trust Sony for full 2.0 compliance if and when that's possible. 4k is exciting but Sony can do better at this price point in a year or two with full array LED back lighting and/or 4k OLED--better blacks and contrast. If I were to keep one, it would be the 65 inch because of the better motion handling and 3D without the noticeable horizontal lines. 4k is exciting and will be cheaper and more available by 2015 so wait if you can.

At this point, I do not have HD cable installed in the room where the TV is located. The picture and sound quality are remarkably good.

In this era of new electronic technology every week, it is difficult to say that "this is ultimate", but for now it is! The density of the images and backgrounds, along with such vibrant colours, I have never seen better. The picture quality is so good, it makes watching your movie collection a new experience. I am watching Formula One qualifying from the 2013 Indian Grand Prix right now and it feels like I am in the pits! The tv has the ability to upscale everything that it reproduces to the new 4K format. Although I have seen 4K demonstrations in retail stores, I have not experienced it in my home yet. Convenience features like a Netflix button on the remote; a second remote with NFC makes doing things with my Sony Xperia ZL cell phone a breeze. Passive 3D brings movie theatre quality to my home and is unobtrusive. Great speaker system is wonderful if you are using it as a stand-a-lone. I will be enjoying this television for years but I am wondering: what's next?

Really nice TV, this may set new levels for picture quality like 720, 1080, did when they first came out. The colors are amazing add to that the detail and you feel like it's not a picture but the real thing. We got the set on May 16th, maybe one of the first around here, the 5K is hard to swallow at first but in truth we've paid more for Flat Panels when they first came out with no where near the Picture Quality, someone has to start the ball rolling, lol. It's important to note that this TV is NOT Samsung Thin, matter fact almost harkens back to them older Plasma's we had, maybe not as thick but don't think your buying into a hanging art piece that hugs the wall. We got the Slim tilt one touch from Sanus it's a nice wall mount for this TV and to adjust it you just gently push or pull on the TV. For those who want slim you could do a in wall setup. Setup of the TV is simple and instructive, but be fore warned you need to do a SYSTEM UPDATE otherwise you may find the TV turning on/off, the remotes not working etc. We spent a hour with Sony Tech Support after hours trying to reset the TV so we could go back through the setup and download the update, after awhile we finally go the TV to reset and update, THANKS to Sony for having Tech Support available on a weekday night after 9PM and low and behold a English Speaking rep, wow, Kudos to Sony. As for another Kudos for Sony how about them fancy side mounted Speakers and the amazing thing they sound pretty decent, no need for a sound bar for this TV, if you want casual TV time no Surround Sound this TV has more than acceptable Sound to watch general TV without running the AV Gear. All in the All, yes it's expensive, but the newest and greatest tech always is, and being the Tech Nerd I am, the latest and greatest always gets my attention, Sony will Sell a lot of these TV's and were not in the least unhappy we bought it.

Got this TV due to issues with another TV that could not be fixed. The picture on this is absolute amazing, especially when viewing 3D material. Absolute no issues with ghosting or outlines when watching 3D material which is unheard of when watching with active 3D glasses like my other Samsung 3D TV. Love the passive 3D 1080p that is now capable with 4k televisions. Color on the screen is amazing without much tweaking of picture settings. Also, got rid of my soundbar due to quality of the built in speakers. Very impressive. Best picture is obviously the 4K material that can be found on youtube. You can definitely tell the difference. Highly recommended
