    When I saw this Sony TV in the store, I was just in awe (Currently have Panasonic 1020P LED/LCD 42') -- But could this TV deliver a great picture when not being fed the demo Ultra4K in the store? The answer is YES - Even normal HD Comcast is absolutely fantastic, great picture clarity, no graininess even up close. The black levels are decent and I dont see any ghosting in the white areas of the picture. I watched Batman Begins to calibrate the dark vs light settings anit it looked amazing!! I am still tweaking since there are many settings to get the picuture just right- I doubt anyone watches anything on "vivid". The 3D picture is absolutely awesome, looks better than what I have seen in the cinema. I cant wait to get my complimentray 4k movies from Sony, but the upscaling from Blueray DVDs does look great. The speakers are wonderful too, wasnt crazy how side speakers would really pan out, but I think they are a great addition and produce excellent sound quality (vs my sony home theatre system) Im still looking throught the SMART capabilities but so far have been thrilled with this TV - Its a bit of bang to the wallet but like me, if your a sucker for a great great TV picture, this will deliver. Time will tell how much actual 4K content we will see on our cable or statellite in the future but who cares if you can upscale the current signal!!

    I waited a year to buy a TV, and right before I pulled the trigger I was informed about the 4k. I will keep this simple. I'm not rich, so 4k was a splurge, but I couldn't be happier. The colors are spectacular. It feels like I am in the movie theater every time I sit in my living room. The clarity is worth the splurge. I paired it with the Sony surround sound system and that's all she wrote. I love my Sony 4k and if you are not rich like me, but use TV to relax from a hard days work, make the jump to 4k. It's well worth the price.

    While in the store the resolution is what caught my eye. When I got it home and out of the store environment, it was even better. A lot of shows appear as tho the characters are within arms reach. Everyone that has seen it, from my 7 yo grandson to my 85 yo mother-in-law, can't say enough about the experience. Then we go to 3D, this is the most amazing 3D I have ever seen. In Nemo the shark is coming out of the tv to get you (dry off) and In Transformers you better duck. I watched a concert in simulated 3D, while not as good as a 3D movie, I felt like I was there, non the less. I can't wait for hockey season to see them play in my living room. The 4k movies that come from Sony are as good as it gets.

    We own 3 Sony XBR tvs love them all. This 55 inch unit appearances to be even better. But am concerned about the stability of the stand. When I touch the corner of the tv when it is on the stand. The tv is very unstable, almost scary floppy. Not normal for a Sony product. Wish the stand was more like Samsung. Has anyone else noticed this.?

    Will NEVER buy another SONY product

    Bought this $3,000 set two months ago. Two weeks ago it died. Under warranty. Sony sent Geek Squad. New part ordered. Fail. Now Geed Squad says "nothing they can do" they are unable to repair or to get authorization to replace. I had ALWAY bought Samsung sets and NEVER had reliability issues but liked the sound and speaker set up on this set. Unless SONY makes this situation right IMMEDIATELY will never buy another set and will tell everyone else I know not to buy from Sony.
