I returned my first Sony xbr55810c for another one because of light bleeding in the top right and left corners. The light protruded from the corner diagonally toward the center of the display. It was particularly noticeable with the lights off and with a letterbox movie or the Netflix user screen. Anyway i exchanged it for another one and am satisfied so far. There is a few stuck blue pixels in the top left corner but not noticeable from normal viewing distance. Hopefully they will snap out of it and there is apps, software and other ways to fix them. Popular Mechanics has a article on it. The picture is great and there is no real light bleed or clouding. I prefer the direct backlight LED and the VA (vertically aligned) panel because of better contrast and I don't care to much about viewing angle. I bought a Samsung 7000 before this and it had horrible clouding. Returned it for a Sony xbr55850D and it had light bleed around the bottom and one side (one of the reasons I stayed away from edge lit tvs after the 850D). 4K on the 810c looks really crisp and cable looks great as well, more so on HBO. I really wish sports were in 4K already. Fiddle with the settings for your own viewing taste and it's a awesome tv. Just hope your lucky first time around.

Have been watching "Mad Dogs" streaming in 4K on Amazon Prime,The pic is stunning! Also have watched 4K content from Netflix with same results. Think only way to get better pic is if I had bought the 65 inch version with the different led display which was several hundred dollars more. I find myself every day watching You Tube in what looks to be almost 4k because of the excellent upscaling. Not crazy about the remote and I tend to use the app from Google Play store called "TV SideView" a lot. I find limitations on the Andriod TV as far as what you can download and install. Would like to see a Time Warner Cable app that I have on my Samsung Tablet and SmartPhone and Roku.

I love this TV! I'm a Sony fan when it comes to television's. I have always owned Sony tv's. I've tried the rest and they just don't look as good as a Sony product. Even my family owns Sony tv's. And that's because I always recommend Sony. Bravia series has been my favorite. I still have a 46" Bravia I purchased back in 2011 and it's still working and now in the bedroom. The 55 4K UHD is beautiful and the picture is gorgeous. I'm not very sure about the 4K part since there's not much out there with 4K. Amazon Prime has some 4K movies you can stream but they are older films and the picture is a step up from HD but the newest movies you can only purchase and they cost $25 for a digital copy! Android is really intuitive and far better than the last software on my old 46 model which I never used. The newer model has many apps and they stream without any issues.

I bought this Sony on January 18th, but returned it the next day for Samsung 60". The only reasons I returned it were:
1. Samsung was 5" bigger for the same price
2. Stand on Samsung was sturdier
Other than these two reasons, this TV had great picture and natural looking colors. If Samsung hadn't become available the very next day, I would have probably just kept the Samsung.

This tv lives up to the Sony name. It has a true 120 refresh. The picture is great for the price. I first bought an LG and returned it for this tv. The picture is clear. If i had to complain about anything, it would be lack of innovation on the remote and the operating system could be better developed

After reading reviews and comparing similar TV's with same price point, I decided this was the best choice for me. Bought to replace a 2 year-old Vizio M-Series 3D TV that had to repaired TWICE in 2 years, then just the other day I got lines all through the screen. It was out of warranty and Vizio wanted 300+ dollars to repair. No thanks, I'll just buy something new. This also put me off Vizio products forever, by the way. I have a 7 year-old Sony Bravia 46 inch LCD that still looks just as good as the day I bought it, so I know Sony makes good stuff. Got the set home and set it all up, had to wait over an hour for the software update, annoying but not a huge deal. I haven't had a lot of time with it as I had to go to work, but the picture settings I was messing around with look pretty good so far. No lights in the corners, or whatever these other guys are talking about. If the lights are there, I haven't seen them yet. Of course the sound is not great, I have not seen too many new TV's that do have great sound out of the box. Also, when I get home I'm going to change my Netflix subscription so I can get the 4K content. Watched a few minutes of The Hobbit:Battle of the Five Armies on Blu-Ray and I was blown away! Looked absolutely amazing. I'm very satisfied with the TV thus far, and I think the more 4K content that comes out the more satisfied I will be. That being said this TV is not a 3000 or 4000 dollar TV, so these guys doing all that complaining need to realize that, it is not going to be a 10/10 in every category. You're going to get what 1000 dollars gets you, and I think that's a good price for this set.

I should say that I am not a real TV-a-phile and bought this to replace a tube TV. I am probably easy to please. Still, I am VERY happy with this TV. My input is mostly 1080i from cable and I am please with the upscaling.
Best Buy delivery (from Williston VT store) was impressive! There was treacherous snow on the scheduled delivery date but they were right on time and donned booties so as not to track the house. The free delivery included (as expected) only unboxing, attach stand, connect to cable and verify operation. They also took packing and my old TV. That went well. I had to connect to wireless myself but that was easy.
The only real down thing I've got is about the remote. To step through selections, you press the corresponding point in a ring (up, down, left, right) but the ring is small and surrounded by a circle of other buttons. Very easy to press wrong.

Don't be fooled by the Samsung 55" 120 hrtz TV's. They truly are only NATIVE 60 hrtz... if you want to spend the same price and get a fantastic TV that meets those next level standards... BUY THIS TV! I love it because not only does it look absolutely amazing, but it also syncs with my PS4 and surround sound system. So good! ENJOY and don't hesitate!

I got a really good deal on this with a PlayStation 4. I previously purchased the Visio mSeries 55 inch and it was terrible. The extra money spent was well worth it to get a 4k with a really great picture. The upscaling is very noticeable and PS4 and Xbox One games have never looked better. The TV also runs Android so it was very easy to get KODI up and running within a few minutes of turning the TV on.

We've had this for a month and have no real complaints. Great picture with plenty of options to tweak, and the Android UI has worked well. Wish the remote had the voice button, but knew it didn't going into the purchase so not docking any stars. Plus the android tv companion app works fine for that purpose. Note: only some of the video apps (Netflix, VUDU) will output 5.1 surround if you're hooked up to a home theater; others don't (Hulu, Amazon Instant), but from what I've read it's on the app developers to code this in, and not the tv's fault.

I have had this tv for about a month and I am enjoying the quality of this Sony product. I knew going in that there were going to be dark corners on really bright sceens based on research before purchasing. Plenty of HDMI hook ups, great up scaling of HD and blu ray materials. 4K is nice but there is not a huge diference between upscaled blu ray and real 4K off of netflix as both are very sharp and colorful. Take the time to adjust the tv to your room and your liking and it will be a satisfying purchase!

My Sony TV has a great picture and average sound. I had to hook it up to a BOSE sound bar to get great sound. The remote is quirky and sometimes goes into its own trance and brings up various menus on the screen. There is no exit on the remote and no manual buttons on the TV. Hooked up to FIOS cable box it randomly would go into its own Sony menu system and would not let you out. Too many Sony system updates to the TV. Why do you need so many updates. If I want updates I will purchase another TV but probably not a SONY. !!

I wanted a 4k TV. I looked at the TV compared to others based on the price. Sony is a brand leader and the TV compares to all of the other major competitors. I am self professed bargain shopper and while I don't skimp I look for deals. This is a great deal on a great TV.

We wanted to upgrade our TV to a smart TV recently. We've had Samsung for the past few TV's and love them. But this Sony was recommended on numerous review sites and had a good price, so we bought it and love it. It works great, has a great picture and the sound is pretty good too. We did buy a sound bar - but I turn it off half the time. I highly recommend this TV.

I've had the TV for about a month now and it's great for true 1080p and 4k content. Lower quality video sometimes shows poorly. The receiver for the remote is on the bottom of the TV which I didn't think would be a problem but it's so low that my sound bar blocks it and I have to stand up to execute functions on the TV. The screen also reflects a lot of light if you have bright lights in the room or windows that shine towards the TV. They are really minimal negatives though. All in all this TV was probably the best 4k TV of it's size out there for under $1k.

I took a suggestion from a Best Buy employee to purchase this TV and I was not disappointed. This TV is crystal-clear, does not blur during action sequences or when showing movement and upscales everything I run through through it! Sony really nailed it! Awesome price for what I got!

I'm am perfectly pleased with the awesome picture, the 4K up scaling is fantastic with this set, sound is really good as well. Only reason to add external speakers is if you really want it loud. I was choosing between the 60" Vizio, the 55" curved Samsung and this Sony that were all on sale for $999.99. The Sony had the best picture hands down. The only con I would mention is the remote requires clear line of sight to work.

I am extremely picky with purchasing electronics and this was the 3rd TV I purchased. I took back the 910 and 810, and I am so glad I brought home the 850c. The picture quality is WAY better than the 910, the colors are the same but the blacks are incredible compared to the 910 and 810, and most importantly there was no screen bleed around the edges. The bezel is thicker than the 910, but you don't even notice and I wouldn't know if I hadn't purchased the 910 first. I am extremely pleased and impressed with this TV, and finally felt good about the money I spent for it. And as a bonus, they updated the firmware to include HDR.
The android TV and included remote are great for online content and useful features like music and YouTube. After all my research, I am very happy I settled with this TV.

This TV is great! Sony is a one of the best brands you can get. The picture quality is great, the tv is smart, tons of apps and useful content. The tv is so smart it knows to switch inputs when you turn on the DVD ect. Which is nice. It is very light weight, durable and has great sound. The 4K is nice and there is a lot of available content on the market to experience this high of quality.
