Stunning picture and good sound. The sound is good; it won't replace a full surround sound setup for movies but is more than enough for regular shows. The picture is so good just pulls you into whatever you are watching. We looked at pretty much every TV out there before buying it to replace our failing plasma TV and are glad we did. 720 material even looks really good on it. Even old low res programs are watchable with it. But 1080 and 4K movies and shows are just amazing. The picture controls are really easy to access while watching, which makes it easy to tweak the settings

Great picture even from wide angles. Colors are vivid and shapes are sharp. Sound is good even without a sound bar. It was quite easy to set up, as well.

My Panasonic finally quit after over a decade of great service, so needed to replace with something nearly, if not better than what my plasma gave. Having doing my research and only needed a monitor for my cable box, Blu-ray & Apple TV... came down to the Lg CX or Sony A8H. I got a win-win @BestBuy for a device with great picture @a great price! Came out $300 cheaper than the CX, so timing was perfect! Unboxing this tv was really fun and the instructions to prevent from making any mistakes were on point! Once we were done, we were amazed! The finish is pristine and looks beautiful on the tv stand. Had this tv for nearly 3wks now and the only hiccup is the android tv did a self reboot twice on its own in the first week, but think was a learning curve error on my end. Sound is suffice without using my A/V system. eARC works as it should and while others don’t like the remote, I’m using my A/V remote instead to control my basic functions. Really only using the factory remote to calibrate tv and don’t have any issues with the factory remote. Set up was pretty basic to me, but to each their own. How long this tv will last is the real test, BUT watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 off my Apple TV was MIND BLOWING! Imagine and Color with the motion was ALL AWESOME! Also, uses 3x less amps than my plasma did! For now, really great buy... let’s see if this will live up to the last expectation! Mahalo BB & Sony!

Excellent picture. I use it for everything but plan to mostly play games on it. The LG has better features and all that for multiplayer games, but I usually play the single player cinematic games that are popular on the PlayStation. The Sony OLED makes everything look amazing and the gameplay is smooth. The color transitions blend nicely and there are no noticeable bands of color. Construction and design of the unit is modern and sleek and will look good on your media console for years to come. Purchased when on sale for $1200.

My Pioneer 60” Plasma died on me and so this seemed like a reasonable replacement. Love the photo. Love how easy it is for my 7 yr old to navigate the channels and apps and for my 79 yr old father to do the same. I did have an oops two weeks after we bought this. Lost the free channels. I was told by geek squad Sony did an update and so they had me uninstall then reinstall the XUMO app. That was confusing how just one app made all the others stop working including YouTube and HBOMax. Not loving the hiccups of modern TV, but also loving modern TV.

Love the TV, great color and contrast. Remember it’s screen is glass so be careful and the vents face down and needs ventilation. Easy to set up.

The word phenomenal comes to mind when I go to write this review. We are beyond happy with how amazing this OLED tv is. Blacks so true that I’m a dark room you can’t see where the tv even is when it goes dark. Brilliant colors and the sound works great for a bedroom without a sound bar. Incredibly solid build quality, something Sony is known for. I much prefer the Android TV system over my LG’s WebOS. Much more minimal and straight forward to use. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another one of these for another room. We love it that much!

I love Best Buy... I was really torn as to which TV I wanted to buy and it really helped when I was directed to a very knowledgeable associate. He was able to answer any and all questions I had and direct me to the TV I eventually purchased. Best Buy delivered it within the time slot they set up in good condition. I absolutely love my new Sony OLED smart TV... the set up was relatively easy, even for this tech challenged senior. What an incredible difference from 10+ year old led It replaced.

The picture on the Sony A8H OLED TV is simply stunning. The pictures are incredibly lifelike and the color is very vivid. We’ve watched a variety of movies and TV shows of different sources (DVD, HD Blu-Ray and 4K). The TV greatly improves the resolution of non-HD sources. The sound from the TV is better than expected. It won’t replace a surround sound system, but is greatly improved from the speakers on our 10 year old Sony flat screen TV. This is simply a great TV for watching movies, sports and TV, you won’t be disappointed.

I've had the A8H for several weeks now and I'm completely in love with the picture quality. If you're looking for the best, most cinematic presentation available, this is it. Very film-like with rich, deep blacks. Watching movies on this is almost as good as going to the theater. The LG CX OLED often gets compared to the A8H but the way the Sony handles motion and color is superior in my opinion. While the TV lacks HDMI 2.1, this should be a non-issue for most people outside of hardcore gamers.

We were not looking to buy a new TV, but when not so old Samsung went South, we had no choice. We found many worthy potential buys, but we couldn’t stop watching this Sony OLED. The picture is that awesome. Reds and oranges seem to burst out of the screen but I was particularly impressed by its rendering of the color black. Cable hookup was a breeze and the Sony wall mounting system, a work of engineering art in its own right, ensured the panel was firmly attached to the wall.

Seriously the best picture I have ever had. My friend with a Masters Series can’t believe how good the picture is either. I was a bit worried about the brightness of the oled, but it’s actually respectable. This tv also handles black issues very well (black crush) better than any other oled I’ve seen. I would give it 4.7 stars if I could only because of the lack of a true hdmi 2.1 port and a clunky operating system. (A preference thing) but you just can’t beat everything else about the tv.

The 55" Sony A8H is an amazing tv. I've had the 900H full panel HD but NOTHING compares to the OLED display. This may not be a super gamer tv with max hdmi capability into the future, but it effortlessly displays a brilliant, vibrant brite screen and thats not in the enhanced mode. Very natural non bleeding color. The 900H screen was not real brite. Good when cranked to enhanced, but not close to OLED. WATCH for prices as low as $1199 or $1299.

Words cannot describe how amazing this Sony A8H is. This coming from owning the A8G and LG C9. As amazing these TV's are, the A8H is spectacular. What stands out is the shadow detail that lacks on the C9. Everything is detailed and specular highlights is off the charts. Audio sounds amazing after break in period as sounds do pinpoint off the screen. The A8H is a Master series without the name trust me this is basically the A9G in disguise and better in other functions. Do not miss out on this TV if your budget permit.

This is an awesome and amazing TV unit. If your fan of the best picture quality and Expect a phenomenal your image quality like me, then you won’t be disappointed. This TV is also great for gaming. This TV can show deep blacks and decent contrast. Overall am very happy buying this unit and highly recommend for any picture quality lovers. Bravo Sony!!!

If you were an early adopter of the XBRs during the mid 80s, got the XBR Bravia Wega LCD during the early 2000s when tubes were at their end and flatscreens ascendant, and now find yourself having to get a smart tv because content is now app driven (and your kids want you to keep up with the times), the A8H is the perfect choice. Out of the box, picture was great. With adjustments based on watching a few Youtube reviews and comments, the picture was even better and you know for certain that you are receiving 4K, HDR, etc. Unlike other brands, the picture quality retains the filmlike quality you see in the movies. Details and people are realistic without the unnatural hyper-photorealistic look that one sees in other brands, especially those models when one stays at a hotel. The thin bezel and no visible sound bars makes watching shows and movies immersive as if at the movie theater, especially when the content fills the full screen. Only knock is wish the plug for the outlet was removable like my LCD in case want to upgrade the plugs. Also since this model is not meant for legacy devices since no composite and component inputs, 2 of the 4 or 3 of the 4 HDMI inputs should be eARC for piece of mind that you are squeezing every last bit of data and detail from external devices. Nevertheless, the A8H is a great tv and you will find yourself not having to check the reviews of other models or thinking of having to upgrade until your kids have kids of their own and your grandkids are complaining that you need to upgrade to a holographic projector. As for Best Buy, prompt service. Transparent with the communications about delivery date and when they arrived - on time before the work zoom calls began.
