I purchased the Sony Bravia 9 to replace an OLED tv I purchased in 2017. However, once mounted and displayed in my living space, the Bravia 9 picture disappointed me in that is was not as crisp as bright as my old Oled. So I returned it and purchased the LG OLED G4. Very happy with that purchase.

Hi dmypsych,
Thank you for the feedback. It is unfortunate that the unit had to be returned. Thank you for sharing your experience and we hope you will consider Sony again in a future purchase.

The Bravia 9 only lasted about one year before the panel showed defects. There were 4 or 5 round grey spots the shape and size of golf balls balls. Contacted Sony and after a few calls and pictures said it was normal. That's a load off you know hwat. Had many LED TV. Thanks God for the Geek Squad who came over and verified that it was a backlight issue drive issue and exchanged it under the 5 year warranty I had purchased. Replaced it with another Bravia 9. Still have time to exchanged it for something else if Sony dies not fix their recent update that is causing issues on al Barvia 9's. Sony support first said they will exchanged it then they dropped the ball They are the worst. Next TV will be another manufacture and skip the Sony Tax.

Bought in Aug. 2024. Died Dec. 2025, just outside of warranty. When powering on it will make clicking sounds, but never turns on. Had it looked at and was told that to replace one board it's $500.00, if both boards (Main and Power) need replacing it's $1200.00.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Thatguyfromboulder.
We are incredibly sorry to hear about the power issues you are experiencing with your K-65XR90. We understand how frustrating it is to deal with a technical failure and high repair estimates, especially so shortly after the warranty period has ended. This is certainly not the long-term reliability we aim for with our premium Bravia televisions.
While the standard manufacturer's warranty typically covers one year from the date of purchase, we would like to look into your specific case to see if there is any way we can assist or provide further guidance. Please contact our specialized support team directly at https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US&category=tv so we can review the details of your situation.
We value you as a Sony customer and regret the disappointment this has caused.

Lip Sync issues galore! Apparently this is a huge issue for this model and Sony has no solution for this problem. Recommend skipping this model.
Posted
Thank you for sharing your feedback, JasonF.
We are truly sorry to hear that you are experiencing persistent lip sync issues with your BRAVIA 9. We understand how frustrating it is when the audio doesn't align perfectly with the incredible 4K picture this TV provides, and we certainly don't want you to feel stuck with this experience.
While this can sometimes be caused by external devices or app processing, we recommend checking a specific setting that often resolves this: navigate to Settings > Display & Sound > Audio output and ensure that A/V sync is set to "Auto" or "On." If you are using an external soundbar, ensuring that both the TV and the sound system are updated to the latest firmware can also help the "handshake" between devices stay in sync.
We take your feedback seriously and would like to help you get this sorted so you can enjoy the premium performance you expected. Please reach out to our support specialists at https://us.esupport.sony.com/support/s/support-contact?language=en_US&category=tv so we can look into your specific setup and provide further assistance.

said it had a digital audio out, but it did not. this was needed to attach headphones.
Posted
Hi BillyC,
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your time and thoughts on this matter. We're here to help.
The Sony K-65XR90 is equipped with a DIGITAL AUDIO OUT terminal (optical), which allows the connection of digital audio devices.
To connect headphones using this output, you cannot plug them directly into the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT port. Instead, you will need an external device—such as an optical-to-analog converter and a headphone amplifier or transmitter (like the Sony WLA-NS7)—to enable headphone use. The TV does not natively support direct headphone connection via the digital audio out port, but it can be adapted using appropriate external accessories designed to convert the digital signal and drive headphones. Poor resolution and performance! However the audio is excellent!
Posted
Hi Jimmie, Thank you for recognizing the Multi Acoustic Audio+ advantages but the resolution is 4K the most common resolution also the technology that was used to create this product was also used in the BVM-HX3110 reference monitor. Maybe adjusting the picture mode to Professional or Cinema for your streaming content. Last the XR Clear Image feature does an amazing job at Upscaling all your HD and digital content to bring back lost detail.

Great picture. Seemed very large at first but now I really appreciate the size. My old TV was a Sony but with a large screen for when it was purchased but by today's standards, it was quite small. My new Sony Bravia 65" is a great choice for my space.
