Great Deal on My New Sony Bravia XR a80J TV

I have wanted a Sony Bravia OLED TV for several years. It was always much more expensive than the LG. It happened one recent weekend, I was visiting my local Best Buy and they had it for $700 off the regular price. This even beat Amazon's price by several hundred dollars. It only took me a minute to decided on buying it. I did purchase a Sanus TV wall mount. Best Buy delivered the TV, installed the mount and mounted the TV. The installer did a very good job. I am more than pleased with my purchase. The picture is excellent. It's crisp, clean and shows all the detail you would expect from a OLED. This model also has built in speakers. They are so good that I have not even hooked up my original sound bar. Sony has developed the technology that even allows the TV to set up the speakers so that I can receive optimum sound clarity by using their direction locator to ensure the sound is optimized to where I am sitting. I stumbled into an excellent deal on a really great TV.

Excellent color, thin and functions great. If you have a bright room, meaning lots of natural sunlight, this will probably not be the best pick. However, pull the shades or at night and this OLED gives deep and rich colors not abrasive brights.

Great picture & surprisingly good audio from the TV! My previous TV was a plasma so I was looking for the true blacks in video & the OLED does a very good job. The upconverting by the Sony processor does a great job of making all content look clear & detailed. I am very happy with this TV.

This was my first big expensive tv purchase. I’ve always bought what’s on sale or clearance and been fine with it. I went back and forth waying pros and cons about an oled tv vs a backlight one. I was so worried about it being dark in my house since tvs are usually brighter in store. My other waying option was this or the lg???? I chose this and am absolutely certain us chose correctly. I have a ps5 so the tv recognition of that was a plus. The picture is outstanding, it looks as though I can physically touch the people on screen. And for the brightness worry?…. Not an issue. It would only be an issue if your living room is surrounded by windows or you’re putting this in your greenhouse to watch while you work. Oh yeah, no need for a sound bar. I have a sound bar from the previous tv that was in this tvs place before and now I hardly use it because this tv had great base and surround sound.

This tv offers such a great picture. Colors are vibrant and blows away any other tv I have seen outside of a store. The user interface is easy to navigate and I enjoy how seamlessly it works with my PS5. Absolutely everything I was looking for.

I was back and forth between this TV and the LG C1 65" OLED. Finally decided upon this one based on my usage being not solely video game play, but also streaming and watching standard definition content. I found a great deal on an Open Box "Excellent" tv which stated missing no parts, and practically new. I paid to have the tv mounted only to discover there was no power cord. Best Buy suggested I reach out to Sony, Sony said their policy was to have BB provide a power cord. Thankfully my 8yr old Sony power cord worked, but left me without a cord for my old TV to go in my kid's playroom. Upon turning the TV on, the previous owner's information was still there for all streaming services. I am not sure the TV was turned on and inspected by BB based on this and the fact that it was missing a power cord. As a Total Tech and Elite Plus Member, I was not happy with this experience. The rating is based based solely on the TV which is excellent.

I am very photophobic and I specifically wanted OLED because of its unique technology (No back light) and having inherently lower blue light than other TV technologies. There are not much choices out there for OLED and I bought SONY mostly because it is brand that I can trust in its quality. So far TV has been easy on my eyes and have not triggered any migraine yet. there are a lot of options to adjust image brightness, quality, blue light intensity etc.. Definitely very god image and sound quality. Interface is easy to use. With the help of customer support I was able to turn off Bluetooth at the remote. It is easy to turn off bluetooth/Wifi at the TV (for electromagnetically sensitive people). Over all very good TV

Worth the money!

I’ve been using this tv for the past three weeks, and overall, I love it! Here’s my breakdown: + Excellent Clarity + Smooth Motion Tracking + Great Dolby Digital Sound + Game Mode & VRR + Two 4K/120 HZ outputs - Video Stuttering (For Older Videos) - Disney+ App Bugs - TV Remote Too “Busy” - TV Setup Lengthy (Apps/Updates, etc…) - Can’t Support Dolby Vision w/ 120Hz For Console I had to replace my old 50” TCL 4K TV that broke down in my bedroom so I decided to upgrade to a much newer model and swapped to a Sony TV. The difference between the two is like night and day! The first thing that stood out to me is how seamless and smooth the picture is. You can definitely “see” the difference when the picture moves on the screen. It does stutter a bit for older videos since the TV has this setting that processes the video to optimize clarity/motion, but you can turn this off on your end. The picture settings can be customized to your preferences, and there’s a lot of settings that you can tinker with. There’s also a button to turn the Picture off on the TV but keep the sound on for people that want to listen to music or white noise to help them fall asleep. I did encounter a video input issue with Game Mode for my Xbox: Sometimes it would not detect any video from my HDMI 2.1 output that was clearly connected to my console. It would only occur when I would quit & restart a game app from the Home screen too quickly. You can resolve this by simply restarting your Console, and it’s only happened 3-4 times so far these past few weeks. Also, the Disney App froze on me once so far, and I had to clear the app data, reinstall it, and log back in. All in all, worth the money, and

Absolutely amazing. Yes the black levels like all OLEDs are impressive. But what has impressed me the most is: 1. Clarity The picture clarity on this TV is unworldly. It makes other TVs look blurry. 2. Brightness FAR brighter than expected. Works great in bright room, HDR highlights pop. Very white scenes are super bright without crushing white. 3. Processing Upscaling and motion on this TV are amazing. Makes everything look sharp and detailed. Cable looks almost like 4K Native. The hype on the processor is real it is really that good. It is worth double the price over the U8G. Sony- skimping on the remote for this high end of a TV is uber lame. You should be ashamed. Not having a backlit remote for a $2K+ high end TV is just not really defendable.

Best television for the money!

The best television on the market for the money. I wish I could have fit the 77" in my Great Room. The picture quality is fantastic. You cannot find a TV with a better picture. In bright sunlight or in the dark you get a quality, fine tuned picture. Old movies are upgraded in picture quality. First movie we watched was the Godfather. You can see every detail in the opening scene in the dark library. Watching nature shows is a fabulous experience. No picture adjustment needed, out of the box. The sound shuts off when Bluetooth headphones are turned on, but there is a 5 second delay. I did not like the Google streaming app setup, so I went back to Roku. It was seamless. Outstanding customer support by Sony. The answer the phone in a reasonable amount of time and are really helpful. That is a big plus! You cannot go wrong with this Sony television. I am very picky and I have no regrets with this purchase.

This tv is amazing. Some minor adjustmenyts will need to be made to suit your preferences but they are mini.al and easy. I have a bright LR and the picture is great. I did change it to cinema and bumped up the brightness a bit which helped. You will love this tv.
