I did a lot of homework prior to purchasing the TV. I finally decided on the Sony x850. The picture is excellent and the set up was easy. The only downside was the sound. In all fairness none of the mid-range TVS have great sound. I spent a little extra on a sound bar and now all is well.

I did a bit of research, because I bought a 55'' TCL last year and was not at all happy with the color. It is really hard to buy a TV in the store because they are not hooked up to a live cable feed. They all look great, but when you get them home the picture and colors don't appear the same as in the store. This TV had a lot of great reviews from real world users, and since it was a last years model the price was acceptable. The difference between it and the TCL is night and day. The colors are much more realistic and the picture much brighter. I am happy with it and glad that I didn't spend the extra $750 for the 950 model. I just wish that the retailers would use live cable feeds in the stores so that you could compare the various brands before you buy.

Excellent picture and definition great colors. The sony TV is the best TV I ever had. Good price and is one of the best tv , for me better than my old Samsung, for the price is a good deal.

This TV has a great picture at a great price. The setup was very easy. We have had a couple issues with youtube videos loading slowly but overall it hasn't been a problem. The remote is a little cheap feeling but we were able to use our cable remote so this is not an issue for us.

I do not understand the bad reviews on this TV. The picture is good and the features are great for a TV in this price range. I have mine set to run everything through the surround sound. We have not had any problems with this TV and if I needed another TV I would buy another one.

The picture is perfect you can see the blemish or a fresh haircut on the people it's perfect and collar and sound it's like they're real they're right there in front of you. The size I got was a 65" so it appears bigger than life. Actually it appears lifesize like you're their size and their your size And that's what makes it real ... If this one ever goes up I'm gonna get another 1 just like it but I hope it doesn't and I would recommend to friends and others it's a great value for the Money. It's the top of the line until something else come Along.

The picture quality is very good relative to the cost. Watching sports is especially good. The only negative I would say is that the Sony sound bar sitting in front of the TV interferes with using the remote. I have to stand up and point over the sound at to use the remote

When streaming over Netflix with 4k the picture quality (bright colors) is fantastic, when playing on 4k disc it is good and for regular cable it is OK. I had two issues with this tv that ultimately led to me returning it for a Sony 900F. 1. The colors are bright and vibrant which when watching Moana the blue water was breathtaking.. BUT when watching a movie with darker scenes it came across more as a darker gray.. So I then started reading reviews online and saw that this is a common flaw with the 850F and that if you change the brightness, color, etc that it would end up hurting the picture quality in other areas.. 2. Once I bought this TV I started looking at specs on 4k players and saw that some offered Dolby Vision. Even though it is not super common on 4k discs now, it's predicted that it will become more popular/common on future 4k movies that are released. The 850F 65" has an X1 Processor which is not powerful enough to display Dolby Vision. According to several websites only the X1 Processor Extreme is able to update via firmware to handle Dolby Vision. So if you're not super picky about darker scenes and the inability to handle Dolby vision that this is a great TV for you, unfortunately it just wasn't a great fit for me.

After extensive online research I went to my local Best Buy to look at the TV's that interested me. Some I eliminated. A nice young man named Zack helped me to narrow my criteria to this Sony TV. Not the most expensive in my research. It combined the qualities that I wanted and the best value for the money. I am happy with it. I was super happy with Zach and his guidance.

Picture quality is great. Sound is difficult to regulate. The stand included is difficult to attach. If the Sony sound bar were an inch shorter or the legs were an inch wider, although nearly too wide already, the sound bar would nestle underneath neatly. Love the frame. The electrical cord, for a TV of that size should be a couple feet longer. Very minor objections.

Over the last two years the tv was mostly good. A few times the remote stopped working, I changed the batteries and still didn't work so I looked it up online and had to unplug the tv from the was for 30 seconds, that worked. Also the plug connector for xbox stopped working, sound connector to receiver stopped working but eventually with some wiggling and finagling, they worked again. But now it has stopped working at all, no lights and won't turn on. I tried the unplug thing didn't work, tried unplugging and unplugging all attached plugs waiting 10 min and then plugging back in and won't work. I tried unplugging, pushing power button and down volume button, and then plugging in to turn on and it still won't work. Neither the remote or button on tv will turn it on. I tried different plugs, nope. Guess the only thing I can do is see if it can be repaired.

I love my Sony 65” HDR TV. It’s picture is brilliant, the colors are outstanding! It is truly SMART, so easy to access all the features. My wife and I fight over the remote control, the other TV’s in our house seem so small. Will have to buy another one just for her!!!

We searched high and low before deciding to purchase this tv. The picture is great for football, movies, cartoons and everything in between. The TV is in our family room and the size is perfect for the area. The WiFi is fast and the ease of using the apps is great.

I bought the tv in Dec. to replace my Samsung 3d tv My old tv kept losing its picture every time it switched between apps. and regular programing . The sony has no issues. Very easy to program and to add headphones and soundbars. I would definitly buy another Sony

I had purchased a TCL but discovered I could not use a headset and hear the speakers at the same time. A Best Buy tech told me that the SONY was the only set that would work for my situation and it does. The bonus is the great picture and easy to use interface.

We were looking for a set larger than our existing 55 inch Samsung. A gentleman who did some electronics installation for us said that Sony is the only TV he recommends. He was right! We are happy with the picture and the ease of setting up and operating the set.

After i moved to my new house, i decided to buy a bigger TV in my living room. During thanksgiving, there was a promotion of this TV in best buy. The TV is amazing. High quality and good price. It is easy to intall and convenient to operate. I love it very much.

the picture quality is great and it was easy to set up. I was able to connect Alexa to the tv so i am able to turn on and off and raise and lower volume. I can find anything i don't like yet about the tv.

I wanted a Sony TV since that it what I had and had great luck with it. This TV was highly rated and so far it works great and has a terrific picture. I disappointed that there is no anchor point and strap to anchor it to the TV stand. I built my own.

I didn't know what to expect, I already had an HD 50" tv how can this one be better? Besides the additional built-in features, the picture quality is amazing. It is simple to use (no extra or confusing buttons to press to access all the features)
