Good size, good price, good picture. After a little fine tuning to get the picture how you like (do a little research/experimenting) I really enjoy this hdtv. Sports and video games look great, picture is bright and clear. Has a few apps built in (netflix, etc) so that is nice if you dont have external accessories. Overall I would definitely recommend.

First 65" purchase and had my eye on a Sony for a long time!
Long story short, tons of Samsung sales @BB and had a Samsung 65" ready for checkout. Right when I was pulling out the credit card, a Sony rep yelled out - WAIT! He just marked down some Sonys for Super Bowl and lets talk! LOL - music to my ears and rolled out the Sony to the register!
Upgraded from a Samsung 40" and it's HUGE and took some time getting use to!
Picture is awesome on HDR 4K streaming = ROKU, NVDIA SHEIELD, and stand alone Android TV (prefer the NVDIA SHIELD!) Bought the PS4 back to life! Make sure you get some quality HDMI 2.x cables! If they are 10+ years old, time to upgrade!
Speakers blow on the TV! There was a deal that time for few hundred $$$ off a SONY Sound bar. If I had to do it again - get the d*** sound bar deal if you have no sound system! Few months later, I ended getting a soundbar - Definitive Technology Micro Studio!
Picture settings and tweaking - look around reddit or RTINGS for picture settings. OH this is an IPS panel so do your DUE DILIGENCE!
I was a bit disappointed that the TV Android OS stopped at 8.0 (OREO?) but if you have a ROKU or NVDIA SHIELD, no worries! and no Dolby Vision update!
In a nutshell, I always wanted a Sony and looking forward to my next SONY purchase! I highly recommend a quality soundbar or system, don't go cheap with some PC speakers into the headjack!

Great picture when all settings are correct and all external components are in sync.went from a 45 inch plasma HD tv to this tv w 4k ,new avr with atmos, upgraded my streaming Xfinity box, upgraded my Netflix account, with all this new technology it made it abundantly clear just how old I am. I'm so lost in trying to get everything in sync to be able to enjoy any of it. I'm certain it's operator error I just dont know how to fix it. I contacted tech support at sony and the person I spoke to logged in to my tv and made a few changes and everything looked amazing , not sure what the changes were but by the next day I was back to poor quality picture and not sure why it how to fix it. Like I said I'm sure it's more operator error but not user friendly to figure it out.

I had a Sony 690 earlier but then the 850F came out on a great deal. Once i got it i could clearly see that i made one of the best decisions to switch to 850F. The same programs I saw on the 690 came out much clearer and realistic on this one! Even though its panel is IPS vs VA on the 690 and has edge lighting instead of direct lighting, the picture quality is much superior. I added a CT290 sound bar to it and I think i need not go to theaters anymore!
I highly recommend it...There are plenty of Samsungs and LG’s available but SONY IS SONY!

(Breathe) Okay, where do I begin. I exchanged a Samsung 55" Q6F for this mammoth 65" X850F. After setting up the TV, connecting it Netflix and soon after Xbox One X - I am pleasantly surprised by the picture quality of this TV. It's color, clarity and contrast are well in line with a Samsung Q6F or Q7F. The sound is decent but I opted for a soundbar with sub woofer for the added "kick". For the price, It is a good 4K TV that will satisfy most consumers looking for value without breaking the bank.

Wow, I normally buy samasung televisions. This t.v. Takes the cake. Great picture and colors are out of this world. I read the previous reviews, but if you go into the picture settings and adjust some of the settings this tv is awesome. The remote is fine. A great television should not be judge by a sample remote. That would be like judging a car by its remote. I would recommend this tv over the Samsung Qled any time.

After calibration to suit me, picture is beautiful. However, there is some motion blur and judder on occasion. Several adjustments did improve somewhat but not altogether. Overall, nice tv for the price. Also bought a Sony 9000F sound bar to use with this tv, however, there is considerable lag when sound bar is used. No lag when tv speakers are used so must be a defect in the sound bar.

We replaced a sharp aquos 60" that only had netflix and vudu apps. We run a firestick on this tv. We decided we just wanted a tv that had the desired apps on the tv. Mainly hulu live. I went in looking for another tv. I told the sales rep, I wanted hulu live without a firestick. He showed me the song x850f. I asked if it had hulu live. He said yes. I asked whT other TVs should I looked at. He said the samsung nu8000, but the sony is better. We looked at it, they both had great colors. I decided on the sony, because I have a sony sound bar and it does hulu live. I paid someone to install the tv by giving him my perfectly working sharp aquos. I get everything setup and download the hulu app. No hulu live , this was the reason, I went with this tv. I call the store and the person i spoke with said just come buy a firestick and i was good. Well the entire reason to purchase new was to get hulu live on the tv with no other devices. This limits remotes , stuff plugged in and less cords to hide. He then said just bring it up here and swap it out. Well if I could have mounted above my fireplace I would have. Therefore i cannot unmount and box it up. He then says that is why we insist you let us mount it. If best buy would have mounted it. Would it have hulu plus on it. I am suppose to get a resolution but I am still waiting on a call back.

We purchased this television in the middle of October 2018 - within 1 week, we had a black line down the middle of the screen. We contacted the store, and were informed this was a common issue, and they would swap the TV out. We received the new one at the beginning of November (when it could be delivered). It is now December 31st 2018 and the television started shutting off and turning on, repeatedly, by itself.. Non-stop. We couldn't press a single button on the remote to get it to stop. We finally had to unplug the TV because it was so annoying. We contacted Geek Squad to find out the main board (I am not tech savvy so I couldn't tell you exactly what this is) went, and they needed to send a replacement part, and schedule for a technician to come out to repair the damaged television. This would take TWO weeks to do. I have 2 small children at home, so having to store an unusable 65in television in a place where a baby and 6 year old can't access it is a near impossible task. We were informed that we were within the holiday return policy (hallelujah) and now my husband is on the way to the store to exchange this TV for a Samsung.
Obviously every situation is different.. but all of these fantastic reviews are unfortunate for someone like me who has had quite a few problems with this model television. I hope no one else has the issues we did, but I wanted to make people aware of these because the store and Geek Squad didn't seem surprised and were quick to point blame at this particular TV.
Yes the picture is good quality, and we had no issues with the sound.. But our cons definitely outweigh the pros which is why we are exchanging for a completely different brand & model.

The interface is very slow. Wifi is horrifically slow to connect and spotty (I can turn on other devices/TV's and no issues). I was told the matte finish would be good for a bright room yet it barely helps with reflections showing on the screen (compared to a glass panel plasma set).
The remote control is supposed to have an excellent voice recognition ability and bring you to where you desire with keywords spoken. It brings me to YouTube 90% of the time. Sony's Customer Service told me they could not release nor give me a list of commands the remote would accept. Their Customer Service connected remotely and once they got the remote/TV to accept 1 voice command then insisted we end the call and everything works fine. Only it doesn't.
There's a preloaded video game and others you can download. They work like crap (fail to load, then work but stutter on screen, etc). What was Sony's Customer Service response? That it's a TV not a video game console so there's nothing they can do.
You spend over $1,500 on a TV in the year 2018 and everything needs to work at least to the level of "good" if not great. This TV, remote and customer service have been a disastrous experience that will continue for years to come as I pay off the zero interest Best Buy credit card.
When you get a 4k stream (mostly documentaries) the screen is stunning. Otherwise, it's barely an improvement over my 10 year old Samsung Plasma.

I’m a big Sony guy but this tv was a big disappointment... I should of done my homework more on this tv,,.i love watching movies with lights the out , n with this tv unfortunately it’s a mistake!! Massive clouding/blooming... at first I though it was just me making a big deal out of nothing but two months later and I regret buying this tv, if I’ve known I would of taken the step up n get the 900 , or something equivalent... If You like watching movies with the lights off or in a dark room , this tv is NOT for u....not sure what’s the policy with Best Buy but I’m sure I’ve past the return date, but if I can exchange or pay the difference for a higher model I would!!!!

While I personally love the picture, when I try to uses apps, it either keeps stopping what I'm watching while buffering, or it disconnects internet connection. The latter happens often..way too often. I go to look at wifi connection and it says connected but no internet. So I have to turn the wifi on and off again, then go back to the app.
