    Excellent TV, if you can get it to work

    I've had this TV for about a month now and have spent about as much time enjoying movies/games as I've spent trying to get it to power on. Disclaimer: I originally purchased this unit "open box", where it was on display plugged in and appeared fully functional in the store. When the unit works, the picture is great! I was really happy with this purchase initially, until I started having issues a few days in. On multiple occasions the TV inexplicably won't turn on after working fine the previous day. Sony chat support was quick in diagnosing that the unit was faulty and sent a replacement. I'm on my second "brand new" unit now and experiencing the same issue again. The TV that worked fine the day before won't turn on. Swapping power strip outlets and plugging directly into the wall makes no difference. Maybe other customers will get lucky and have a better experience. I'm missing my old Samsung TV that never failed to run smoothly.

    Great TV . . . One issue

    Recently TV is powering up with solid pink screen. I am connected to older Samsung Spectrum set top box via new hi-speed HDMI cable. If I reset the cable box, it works fine.

    I Purchased this TV yesterday. Upon getting the TV home and setting it up I noticed that the viewing angle was not correct. The top of the TV was set back about 2 1/2 inches from the bottom as it appears the TV stand does not support the television vertically. I called both Sony and Bestbuy on issue and neither one could do anything for me. At a minimum Bestbuy should give me some kind of compensation for having to prop up the back of a brand new $1000.00 TV to obtain the correct viewing angle.

    This TV just stopped working after only 4 1/2 years. Sony apparently doesn’t make panels so if you don’t spend more money on an extended warranty you are up a creek. Also, the Ethernet plug in the tv never worked and the OS was super sluggish

    Bought this TV to replace my 10 year old 46" Samsung. I expected a 4K/HDR TV to have a nice crisp, clear picture. What I got was no better than the set I replaced! I had intended to buy a Samsung but the salesman assured me that this set would have a much more life-like picture. I should have bought the Samsung!!!

    Great Picture, Horrendous Black Levels

    The TV looks great playing standard and HD TV and sports, and is great during the daytime in very bright situations. However, HDR on the Sony PS4 Pro looks pathetic. There is so much lighting bloom coming from the top right corner of the screen, that it completely destroys any image detail in that area when viewed in a dark room. I was testing with both Uncharted 4 and God of War, and the bloom was very evident while playing. Absolutely not worth the money at all, as for a cheaper price, you can get a TV that will display blacks properly. I am a big fan of Sony’s X900E, but I can not recommend this TV at all, unless in a very bright room and not using HDR.

    Brand new TV freezing

    We just bought our TV last weekend and the apps keeps freezing and then TV turns black. It is very disappointing as we wanted to give Sony a try but unfortunately will go back to Samsung. The picture is great but the freezing is something that should not be happening within a week of buying a new TV.

    This TV has a design flaw

    I bought this TV from a San Antonio Best Buy last year and it stopped working within 5 months, after progressively becoming slower to respond to remote control and open any apps. The TV would remain stuck in the startup screen. I called Sony and they were able to replace it, with a refurbished one! ... Now, 5 months after the replace, the refurbished TV has now failed too! ... Same symptoms, it just becomes slower gradually, no matter how up-to-date the software is. Now, Sony is offering to try and fix it, not even offering a second replacement! Honestly, I am requesting a different TV model or even to return it, but they won't do it. I am extremely unhappy with this TV and the fact that the TV has failed twice in the same way, leads me to think that there's got to be a design flaw. In short, I bought this TV brand new (which I am still paying for) and now I am left with a refurbished TV that Sony wants to try and fix!... do not buy...

    Horrid Picture when watching standard HD

    In the last 3 years I have owned a 65” and 75” Sony TV the latest being a Sony XBR75x850F. When watching standard HD channels is awful. I keep my 12 year old 50” LG beside it and watch it most of the times only using my Sony to watch 4K Movies. Shame I have spent over 4K in 3 years on Sony to end up watching my old LG .

    Good brand

    But after 14 months, the screen has a double image and because of being over a year old, nothing can be done. I am so disappointed. For the amount of money paid for the TV, I would expect it to last longer than 1 year.

    No audio while using apps like youtube or netflix.

    The audio works on my stereo surround sound through my cable box while watching tv and movies. There is no audio while using apps through my stereo system. The tv speakers work for the apps but I do not want to use them since I have surround sound. I have tried troubleshooting this for hours. I even called geek squad and they had no solutions. She said this is a common problem with this tv and I will have to return the tv to the best buy store. That entire phone call was 48 minutes to geek squad and still no help to fix this problem.

    Stopped Working After 6 Months

    I ordered the TV on Black Friday and had no issues with it until May. After just 6 months, it stopped working. I called Sony and they gave up after "turning it off and on" wouldn't fix the problem. Sony said the best they could do is offer to replace it with a refurbished one... I've never had a TV stop working after just a short period of time. Definitely would not recommend, go with a more reliable brand.

    Constant problem. We’ve had the mother board, video board and other repairs done. Now the sound board is out. 4th repair in 2 years.
