Easy to set up and use. Works great. Sound is also good.

The STRDN860 receiver has fully met my expectations. I did extensive research of the various receivers online prior to purchase, and most of them were very flattering of this unit. Its more advanced brother, the DN1060, appeared on multiple lists of the best receivers of the year, and the DN860 delivered on all fronts just like the more acclaimed DN1060, but with fewer options that I would not be using anyway. I use it for both TV/movies and music; I do not ever turn up the volume too high, but I can hear the full range even at lower volume settings, and it is balanced and pleasing to the ear. I highly recommend this unit, especially at the price I paid (it was the Deal of the Day)! Sony rarely disappoints.

Great receiver for the price. Easy to set up and customize the surround sound using on tv screen or iPhone. This is my third Sony A/V and the best. Video input from non-HDMI is limited but that is what AppleTV is for.

I replaced an older receiver that was actually still really nice. There were a few features that I was attracted to like Bluetooth. Some other features left cause for concern due to past experiences with HDMI or SPDIF able to pass through but not convert. With this receiver, the conversion is totally transparent and the input output identifiers are comprehensive and make sense. In the past I had to use "TV/SAT" for my computer's audio. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB are common place enough to expect in a receiver and this Sony doesn't disappoint. In closing, it sounds great and makes using my system simple without compromise.

On the plus side the price for this receiver is good and it has the bells and whistles of others. On the negative side only one HDMI port is coded for HDCP 2.2 which is a bummer....this can cause for example your 4k blu ray player not to work if you have it hooked up to the DVD/BD HDMI port...you have to change it over to your SAT/CATV port....not a big deal but other receivers have all the HDMI ports coded for HDCP 2.2.

Love the receiver, my only complaint is that a menu pops up every time it turns on and there is no way to turn it off, has great sound and 4K pass through is impressive

I've been teetering on the fence between replacing my current Onkyo Home Theater receiver with the Sony D860R or gong to a sound bar? As I have a sizable investment in Speakers, I elected to purchase the Sony and I am extremely happy. The audio quality, Wi-Fi, Blue-tooth, screen mirroring etc... are all fantastic and something my older Onkyo was sadly lacking. The Sony's ability to integrate with my computer and smart phone greatly improve the versatility, usability and accessibility as well. Upscaling 4k content onto the new Sony TV is amazing as well.

I bought this to replace my 10 year old system. it is much better. listen via Bluetooth, can listen to wireless headphones, sound quality is great!

Sounds great. Love on on screen tv display. I wish I could read the buttons on the front! The face is shinny black....so it's hard to see with little light

This receiver was surprisingly better than I thought. It has great wattage per channel and it also came with a 4K blue ray player. Great buy

Definitely gets the job done. Easy to set up and navigate the controls. Reasonably priced great value for the money.

This is everything we are looking for for our home entertainment center. Being able to hook in the outdoor speakers the indoor speakers and also the television and my Wi-Fi compatible security system.

So far, so good. I just need to learn how to get the AirDrop from the IPhone to work like the sales guy told me in the store. Have to make a trip up there. Would def recommend for the price.

I paired this receiver with a small set of Klipsch bookshelf speakers and the Klipsch quintet surround speakers, and a powered sub. It was fairly easy to set up, with hiding the wires the hardest part. So many sound and processing options that it was a little confusing to match settings on my BD player and the receiver to get good surround. We also actually noticed an improvement in picture quality through the receiver ... sharper somehow.

I purchased this receiver because I was disappointed with my earlier Pioneer. I am fairly satisfied with its richer tones and greater depth of sound, but they eliminated the AM function from its tuner and does not come with a manual which forces you to guess your way through the various sound modes and other functions. All in all better than the Pioneer, but not by much.

Only complaint is the lack of directions for proper explaination of how to use product. Good sound output. Excellent video output. Song pal app that you use with product crashes alot during use.

Does a great job with surround sound . With the blue tooth I was able to add XM radio to the basement.

Its very user friendly and the sound is awesome. I am going to get another one for my media room.

Very easy to use and hook up. Wireless Bluetooth is the best I have seen in a receiver.
