Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the picture quality, calling it amazing. They also appreciate the large screen size, easy setup, and affordable price. While most customers are pleased with their purchase, a few have concerns about the remote control being difficult to use, the lack of warranty for pixel issues, the TV's weight, and the flimsy stand.

Trouble viewing picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.T.V turns on and sound comes our, but no picture. Geek squad is coming back out to check it out, so we'll see if it deserves a better rating.

Very disappointed after buying a Smart TV
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My smart TV will not link with a wireless internet signal. Unfortunately neither the salesperson or the advertisement makes this distinction. The internet signal has to be through a cable or router. Now after an expensive purchase, it does not perform a function I wanted.

Mediocre at Best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This television is nowhere near the quality most have come to expect with Sony products. It is hard to even tell that its actually 4k. The picture, on other words, is so-so, with a low quality hue and poor contrast. Blacks tend to be gray, etc. There is also a most annoying glitch with its ability of accessing Netflix that requires it to be reprogrammed to the modem repeatedly, especially after a passing thunder and lightning storm or if the power goes out. And there is no direct way to connect to surfing the web via the internet. It was a feature on previous Sony televisions, but NOT this one. Bad move Sony!!

Excellent picture, awesome looking, easy setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an awesome TV. Plenty of connectivity (digital, analog, headphones), well designed; the more often accessed connections are easy to reach from the side. Initial Setup is a breeze IF you FOLLOW DIRECTIONS and the videos on Sony's website. (it pays to spend time reviewing the help documents for more advanced settings) More advanced settings to tweak it to your liking take a little more time. Some common complaints: bad sound; not true, need to adjust ALL the settings (from action button AND home button on remote). I also have it connected to external HIFI analog sound system (NAD and Parasound) via optical cable and optical to analog converter (Insignia) for movies. Some people have complained that optical sound output does not work; not true. Need to adjust the optical output settings (home button) to PCM. Default setting is for compressed audio, geared for surround sound processors. You can also connect separate subwoofer via the headphone jack. HDR is really great. TV remote can control cable box. Only had it for a couple of days but already huge improvement over our 60 inch Samsung. I am still investigating all the other settings (there are a lot of them). you can also set up shortcuts to avoid navigation through multiple steps. I really like this TV.

Worked fine
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV worked great for the first three months. Then one day it decided not to turn off, we couldn't change the channel, the volume, the station or anything else. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. The opposite happened today. The TV wouldn't turn on. We had to unplug it and reset it before it would come on. Taking it in to have it looked at isn't going to be easy.

Died at 2 years
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound died out of HDMI #3 after 1 year, had to go to optical cable for audio. Then it lost wifi permanently. Could connect to wifi, but always believed it was not internet connected. Now sound has entirely died from every port. Sony lost me forever.

Ok, but big back-light bleed issue
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.90% of the time picture looks great. There is, however, a pretty serious back light bleed issue from all 4 corners - almost to the point where I considered a return. No, I'm not one of those ultra fussy videophiles - you will notice it and it will bother you if your set is similar to mine.

Poor picture quality, good brightness
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dear TV buyers, for those of you comparing Sony and Samsung, I bought both 850e and 8000 models, and Samsung is light years ahead in terms of picture quality. Procuring 850e as a replacement for 8000 was a serious downgrade. Had GeekSquad taking it back to the store. Stay away.
