The worst service ever!!! NEVER AGAIN WILL DEAL with your offered service. Installation your contractor damaged a fiber optic equipment that connect to my TV and make it useless now almost 3 MONTHS passed and no result. Almost $6k TV for nothing, useless!! Hours and hours lost trying to get some one at the end I just got "sorry but its nothing that I can do", or "I escalated and there is nothing else that I can do". I would not recommend to pay for the TV installation service you are going to have your worst nightmares dealing with this people.

Purchased as part of Movie Room reno. I cannot begin to say how awesome this TV performs, and we have had it since Nov 2019. The summary is as follows: Pros - 1. Buy in the store and make some kid's day. You will feel like a boss as well. The demo and the installed in my home were equal. 2. The Picture is true OLED. They took the LG panel and pushed it even more with the Sony touch. Streams and HDMI are both excellent 4K. We use Disney+, Amazon, Netflix, Google Movies, HBO app and then decided to cord cut with YouTube. All of them steam perfectly. 3. The remote from TV controls evertrhing well and has a Netflix button, controls the home theater receiver and we saved cost of those universal remotes. 4. The processing is AMAZING. I mean jump from app to app to TV in 1 second each. It remembers and shows all the apps in a move way ans allows user edit for favorites and such. This is perhaps the best feature is the android processing capability. 5. The sound is above average considering Sony made the TV as a speaker. even has +/- input for 14 gauge speaker wire to run as center channel. 6. If you are an android phone user, this TV is instantly compatible and allows all the android linking functionality (cast, control TV from phone, add apps easier, etc) 6. The profile and size is imposing yet sleek. 77in TV is not small, bit makes for perfect movie room experience at about 10-16 ft away. 6. The apps are vast and easy to load and run. Think of.ir like another android phone and go ahead an load that Sirius XM, Alexa, Google play apps, etc. Cons- 1. Expensive. Total worth it for us, but it does cost something, especially if you get the service plan (which is silly not to for this investment) 2. Best run in dark room. Looks amazing when lights are off, but expect reflection in well lit rooms. If you have two story great room windows...forget it. 3. If you want to integrate with Apple , this is not a good match. This is android and made to work well for android. 4. Requires professional install if wall mount. Do not try to DIY this install for any reason. This TV is heavy and too big for one person. 5. HDMI angles are all to the side. Also no RCA connections if you use any old school components. Overall best TV available (even the LG) and still better than the 8k options out there as of May 2020.

    Amazing Color

I really didn't expect a huge improvement over my Sony 65" LED TV cuz it was really good. Upgraded to the 77" just because it's the largest size I can fit in my custom built TV enclosure. Nothing to fault about the 65" LED but gotta say I'm blown away by the color of the 77" OLED! It's like a whole new world. I'm watching movies now just for the cinematography - everything looks so good. There's a richness to the color that you just have to see to believe in a moderately dark viewing room. Plus the TV has one touch buttons for Amazon prime and Netflix which is great. I know it costs a fortune, but you forget about the cost about 5 minutes into your first movie. A good demo is to watch any episode of General Hospital on this TV. For some reason the color on that show, skin tone and everything really shows off what this TV can do.

I've had this for about 18 months now. It is By far the best TV purchase I've ever made. It is mesmerizing how gorgeous it is. Even compared to other 4K monitors, this one makes other brands and non-OLEDs look tame! The OLED truly makes the picture motion absolutely flawless. The blacks are so black it looks like the TV is off. The smart TV apps are always useful and everything works flawlessly. The WiFi is always sufficient for anything I play or watch. The only possible criticism I can make of this TV is that it isn't offered in an 80 inch plus size. But short of an 8K which is a total waste of money right now in my book, this is the best TV you can buy.

We got this TV installed about ten days ago. Installation was done by BestBuy professionals. They did an outstanding job. Now for the TV: it is by far the best picture I’ve ever seen on screen. Picture is crisp, colors are absolutely vivid and contrast is most impressive. We did buy the 5 year Geek-squad contract. We may never need it (based on our experience with Sony’s) but did it anyway. So, if you are looking for a high end OLED tv, this is it. Now if you are a big time gamer maybe LG OLED is something to consider as well. My final words: for those looking for a great tv that offers “out if this world” picture quality this is the tv to buy.

Best TV I have ever purchased

I purchased the Sony 77" A9G Masters series OLED about a year ago and I am as happy today with it as I was the first day I bought it. I have nothing to complain about with this remarkable television. I upgraded this television from a 65" Panasonic Plasma - 1080p. The contrast between black and light colors is just as good as my plasma was. I am still amazed at the picture quality when watching content in Dolby Vision and HDR. I was concerned about spending so much on a television but I have no regrets as Sony again confirms their quality is the highest in the industry. If you are a TV/Movie enthusiast, this is the TV for you. I am so happy with the quality, that with more opportunities to watch movies the same day they release at theatres, we choose to watch at home. Not just for the convenience but because the picture and audio is just as enjoyable. I use a Apple TV 4K to stream all of my content. Sony has recently added the Apple TV app to their home screen. I have a Marantz SR5014 7.1 receiver. I have no issues downloading or streaming any 4K content. Everything works perfectly. I highly recommend this setup.

As with any OLED TV, the black level is outstanding. While its peak brightness is considerably lower than the current crop of LCD-based TVs, it is plenty bright in a moderately lit room. In my setup it faces four large windows on the south side of the room and two equally large ones on the west side, so we have been using blackout curtains anyway with our last TV. Also saying that LCD panels backlit by LED are much brighter than OLED panels is not an accurate statement. When the whole screen is showing a bright sky, of course the latest LCD panels are brighter; but when delivering highlights over a small area (stars in a dark sky, or a lamp in a movie scene, for example), OLEDs are actually brighter because LCDs have to find a compromise between letting those highlights stand out and lighting up the surrounding area as well - on a 4K panel even a 1% area contains some 80,000 pixels and these highlights are significantly smaller than a zone on LCDs with local dimming. For decades I had hated letterboxed contents, first it was CRT where the lines were never straight, then it was LCD where the black bars were dark grey. In a dimly lit room, the black bars on letterboxed contents on this TV simply melt into the darkness and I cannot tell where they meet the edge of the screen. With its massive size, I no longer mind “wasting” some screen real estate. I purchased this rather than the LG C9 because I prefer the overall design, especially the option to use the TV itself as the center channel speaker in my 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos setup - there is a slight input lag here, as my A/V receiver’s calibration showed it to be almost 20 ft further away from my sitting position than it actually is. In comparison, when using a “regular” center channel speaker the distance measurement is accurate. But the A/V receiver has no difficulty compensating for that and in actual use I have found no lip sync issues. White balance is slightly warm but quite decent overall under “Custom” color settings, and drifts somewhat depending on brightness - it is visible when viewing greyscale gradient patterns, but to be honest I have not found it objectionable when watching any real contents and don’t want to shell out $$$ to purchase the hardware necessary for calibration or to have someone else calibrate it. There are extensive and very technical reviews of the 65-inch version A9G on several popular review sites for TVs, including post calibration settings - but keep in mind that each panel is slightly different, and when I tried their settings the pictures actually got slightly worse on my set so I reset it to factory default. Neither Disney+ nor Prime Video app is able to passthrough Atmos metadata over Dolby Digital Plus, but Netflix and Plex are able to do that, so it is not the TV’s fault but rather Disney and Amazon’s. Amazon’s Prime Video app currently does not support Atmos passthrough on any Android TVs, per its published support matrix, although it does on its own “flavor” of Android running on Fire TV Stick 4K as well as TVs powered by WebOS from LG and Tizen from Samsung. Disney does not publish a support matrix, all I can say based on personal experience is that it does not pass along Atmos on Android TV but does so on Fire TV 4K stick. This may or may not be important to you, I just thought I should point it out. Amazon has few contents with Atmos audio at this time, but Disney+ has Atmos with all its recent movies so I am surprised its app does not pass it through. The only real negative I have found so far after four weeks of ownership is that Dolby Digital Plus passthrough is not consistent: I could watch several movies without a hitch, and then the next one can have random audio drop-outs, each drop-out lasts a fraction of a second but quite obvious and annoying; when I switched the passthrough to Dolby Digital instead, the audio was fine without any drop-outs. This does not affect the output of built-in speakers, and becomes evident only when passing through DD+ soundtracks over HDMI to an A/V receiver. Apparently this is a known issue with Sony’s Android TV platform in general and not just with the A9G product line. Sony’s recommendation is to use Dolby Digital passthrough instead. While DD+ to DD conversion does not require decoding and re-encoding, per Dolby’s design, and streaming contents hardly ever include DD+ audio with a bitrate high enough to really matter, this blocks out Atmos which is only transmitted with Dolby Digital Plus or Dolby TrueHD. Besides the connection between my A/V receiver and the eARC capable HDMI port on the TV, I do not have anything else plugged in directory to the TV. So my observation regarding DD+ passthrough is limited to the built-in apps only. If you don't use the built-in apps and rely on a streaming stick plugged into your A/V receiver, I am happy to report that it works perfectly without any audio issues. While the TV is great, the buying experience with Best Buy was not. This is likely my last big ticket purchase from this company. Since none of my local stores stocked the 77-inch model, it had to be transported from a warehouse. It took 8 days to get there, over a distance of 50 miles. Had I known that, I might have selected the warehouse as the pickup location, but then I would end up paying extra in sales tax because it was in another state. I fully understood that due to the impact of COVID-19 everyone at Best Buy was under stress, I was just surprised by how little information was given to their customer service reps so none of them could tell me what was happening.
