Previous TV was a Samsung QLED 1080p set that gave 8 good years of service. Granted, this Sony is 4K so it ought to have a better picture. But, now I see what all the buzz is about OLED! The contrast it’s capable of is a whole different level. Inky dark blacks really make the colors pop. When I watch a conventional LED TV now the picture always looks a little gray. The built-in speakers are equally impressive. They’re mounted in the back and project audio through the screen. I was originally planning to get a sound bar, but having heard the native audio I’ve changed my mind. I can think of no negatives except the relatively high price of OLED technology. This Sony A9G is highly recommended!

Great TV in a semi bright room. Don't even need highest brightness settings especially at night. 77" size for sitting 13' away in a large living room. Fits perfectly with entertainment unit and tower speakers. Paired with Sony mount and mounts almost flush against wall. Picture quality is excellent as well. Blacks are deep which makes contrast amazing. GOT and WW84 dark scenes has great clarity and detail. Purchased during Black Friday deals. Android TV incorporates seamlessly with existing Google Home setup with no need for Google Chromecast nor extra remote to align devices. Wish remote was back-lit, but silver remote gives decent contrast to see black buttons.

Moving from a 110" 1080p projection setup to a 77 in. OLED had me concerned until I turned on the set! I had not connected all my home theater audio gear yet so just used the set's speakers -WOW! I consider myself to be somewhat of an A/V nut so I wasn't expecting much but Sony has developed a glass screen based speaker system that is the best I've heard from any flat screen. Not only is the sound quality good but I would swear they have utilized directional software for Dolby Atmos and surround features. The sound lacks bass despite built in "subwoofers" but for those considering a soundbar, listen 1st! Picture quality is what you would expect from Sony's flagship with bold & bright colors, unlimited calibration options, EZ setup and even the way it looks on the wall. Cons include reflective glass common to OLEDS, some ARC handshake issues, hard software reset required and price point at the top of the scale. Still, a top shelf choice that I am extremely pleased with.

TV is best picture I have seen yet when the programming supports or is broadcast in higher resolution. Sony leads the way in ease of use with the apps and navigation of the menus. The true black is fantastic and worth the extra $$ if you are looking for the most realistic picture you can find without shading and black gradients on real black images. I have this TV connected to a Sony sound bar and sub which sounds AMAZING!!! The only issue I have with this set up is that the sound bar loses signal to the TV at times and has to be reboot in order to connect. I highly recommend!

Short and simple review: I previously used a Sony 75X940C and decided to go OLED with my replacement. I waited for Sony to release the 77A9G and jumped on it. This is not my first OLED and I am aware of drawbacks regarding OLED with screen retention and burn-in. That being said, the contrast and color out of the box with the A9G is simply unparalleled. I absolutely love the TV and only wish it came in a bigger size. If you are looking to switch from LCD to OLED place the A9G on your short list.

Spectacular picture and the upscaling is the best in class. Easy to set up (the box has a magic feature to remove it) and easy to start up. We moved from a plasma to this TV and it’s like night and day in terms of sharpness, contrast and most of all, color. The color contrasted with the pure ultra black is real life in your living room. Last: The price is unreal, it was advertised as 14K last year and to get it for $ 4,500 is surreal. Summary: the best TV at an amazing price.

This TV is the bomb! If you are using this for only viewing content and not gaming you would be well served to spend the money and get this beast. The picture is unrivaled and I’ve owned high end LG OLEDS. The color on the SONY is more natural. I have the 77 inch version mounted in my living room which gets decent light. I don’t have any issues with the TV not being bright enough. At night, Dolby Vision and HDR content is really eye popping. Even if you are a gamer many say this TV excels at gaming. I’m not a gamer so I don’t have much of an opinion. There is not motion artifact when watching sports. My only regret is that I paid 6K for a TV which is not listed at 4K. Thats the price you pay for getting in early. I am always looking at TVs and currently there are not any that out perform the A9G. LG and Samsung aren’t slouches and the new HISENSE OLED reviews out really well. I love SONY because their chipset is superior and will continue to buy their TVs. I can’t wait until the 98 inch TV is affordable. FYI I stream all content through an ATV4K.

This is my second Sony oled tv, I owned the first Sony oled 65” A1E, And I was very impressed with the picture quality of it, I want it to upgrade to a bigger size and I put my eyes on the new 77” A9G, After seeing the picture quality of the A1E, I knew the picture quality will be good on the new tv, But I never thought this tv will have such amazing picture quality and features, The sound quality is amazing and Android system is faster than my first Sony oled, Sony did it again, I couldn’t be more happier with this tv, is easy to set up and easy to navigate through it, This tv is worth every penny and you won’t be disappointed, Thank you Sony And Jeep it up the best of the best tv.

Bought this TV to replace my 2007 55" Sony XBR (my first wall mounted TV) and what a very big difference. The pictures are stunning, fantastic and very crisp. The size of the TV kept me mesmerize every time I watch the TV, it feels like you are right there in the picture. Can't wait to connect the PS5 to the TV and from what I heard from people, playing the games brings you to a whole different level of gaming.

Picture quality - The best I have ever seen Ease of set-up - The easiest TV to set-up and integrate with my 7.1 surround sound system trough the ARC HDMI Remote control has a very easy to read and operate layout. The only improvement I would have is make the remote control with a light display. The voice command works great and the apps options on the home screen makes it even easier to get all the benefits of owning this TV.

This is the best picture I've ever seen on any television. Easy to set up and calibrate (there are recommended calibration settings online for this TV to get you going). Remote controls work everything, including the sound bar through through the HDMI-Arc port. I upgraded from a Samsung 65" LED and was concerned that this TV would be too big for the room at 77", Actually it is not at all. You won't be disappointed.

I was upgrading from a 65” LG OLED that I purchased 4 years ago. This picture was Outstanding at the time, but HDR and Dolby Vision has now come online, and the LG could not support. Likewise, I was looking to increase the TV size to 75-77” since the pricing for this size had come down from $15K to the $5K level for best in class TVs at this time. So, the research began about 3 months ago for the new replacement. It quickly came down to the 77” LG or Sony. Both companies use the same OLED panel, which comes from LG. However, the Sony Master Chip that drives the color, refresh rate, etc. was the deciding vote. The image quality is very natural and superior to the LG. I came from the 65” LG so was very satisfied and familiar with LG. But, the new Sony flatly won out in terms of picture quality. Don’t get misdirected with the better HDMI connections on the LG. The Sony handles all of the current streaming capabilities that the TV can handle. When you need the upgrade in HDMI inputs, you will need to have a TV capable of 8K with streaming to match. That does not exist today. So, my strong recommendation is to go with the Best Picture you can get today, with the current Best Streaming technology and that answer is the Sony A9G Master Series 77” TV hands down!

This Sony 77" OLED is replacing my 65" Sony OLED which I purchased last year. Moving the 65" into the master bedroom. Had the Geek Squad professionals mount the 77" with the new Sony special mount which hangs the TV very close to the wall. The price point is high but you only get what you pay for.

The picture quality is stunning. The blacks are perfect as expected with an OLED screen and the brighter colors are top notch even in bright light but really shine at night. Any content with Dolby Vision is jaw dropping. The built in Android TV works fantastically with YouTube, Prime Video, HBO, Showtime, and Netflix. The Netflix calibrated mode feature combined with 4K shows featuring Dolby Vision really showcase why you're spending this much on a TV. I also bought a mid-range Sony STR-DN1080 receiver to pair with this and everything was seamlessly working right out of the box with minimal setup and 1 controller. The controller is very nice, works with all the apps and also controls my Apple TV 4K without problem. The only thing that requires another controller is my Dish receiver but I'm sure that is just because, like all cable company equipment, it's hot trash. I also bought the Sony SU-WL855 wall mount kit for this TV. It is very overpriced but I like that it lets you extend the the panel off the wall and swivel it so you can reach all the ports and connectors and then push it flat against the wall again.

This is the gold standard of 4K OLED Super hi-def TV's. Ultra sharp colors, blackest blacks, whitest whites. Super thin OLED panel with built in speakers in the panel. I use an external 9.2 Denon AVR Amp for all my sound but when I use the TV by itself, it also sounds great. About the only negative I can think of is the Android operating system and menus are rather clunky and does hang occasionally requiring a power cord reboot. But Sony does regularly update the firmware so I has been getting better. This has the ATSC 1.0 tuner and the change to ATSC 3.0 has started this year, but considering that I use satellite and Apple TV for my streaming, I never watch anything over the air. But if you are planning on using an over the air Antenna then make sure you get the latest model and check that it supports ATSC 3.0.

Highly recommended. Was looking for a 77 inch tv and was between this and the LG C9. Did plenty of research and chose this tv because I mainly watch movies and sports and I liked the picture on this tv better. C9 is the better choice for gaming and is a better price. Can’t go wrong with either tv. I also recommend the Sony wall mount that’s made for this tv.

I typically do not write reviews but wanted to provide my feedback on this product. After hours of research, 3 trips to Bestbuy and hours watching the LG75 LED, LG77 OLED Sony 75LED and Sony 77 OLED We bought the XBR75H950. We thought the value it offered for the price point was the correct product for our family. *side note we added the HTS5000 sound bar (see other review). back to the TV. We felt the 75 Sony LED was the best bang for the buck. We thought that the picture quality wasn't as good but to save 1k knowing it would be in our home not beside these other options we couldn't tell the difference. We took the the 75H950 home and boy were we disappointed. Not matter what calibration we did, we just couldn't get sports to look good. Also there was this thing with the motion, when we watched Yellowstone and they would pan, its like the tv would lag or jutter along . It was pretty noticeable for me, my wife once she saw it said it was horrible. So we had that TV for a day and after watching Soccer, Football and Yellowstone we decided this was not the right TV. We went back to best buy to talk to one of the guys( there were 4-5 that helped us originally ) described what was going on and the sales guy said "well you know what you need to do ".. that was buy the OLED. So we bought the Sony 77 OLED. We took it home, put it on the wall ( this TV is so thin it made me nervous hanging and I've hung 10 TV's ) ! Just be careful!!! We turned it on and I can honestly say once we set up the TV we were pleased. The first thing we turned on was Yellowstone . We did NOT configure the TV we just wanted to see how it performed. The Jutter was gone, the lag was gone and Im not sure why the panel would make a difference as they have the same processor but it was noticeably better. The colors are amazing, the black levels are amazing . Everything about the image quality is amazing. After a few personal tweaks (reduced brightness) that's about it... we've been good ever since. We've had the TV for a few weeks now and I couldn't be happier. I want to thank the best buy Polaris, OH and Tuttle, OH team for helping us. You were great and Best Buy return's made it easy to exchange. If you're looking for a big screen all I can tell you is I was a TV rep for 8 years. I've always been partial to Sony's video processing, I thought the 75XBR would be fine but if you're spending that kind of money, I'd recommend spending the extra 1k and getting this. This TV is the best TV I've had since my Pioneer Elite Plasma and I do not regret buying it at all.

I’m the type that likes all of Television viewing to be cinema like and this tv does not disappoint. I actually waited over a year, holing that the price would drop, but it never did, in a major way. So I broke down and just got it...again, I am not disappointed. Due to the up-converting, HD programming actually looks looks like it’s in 4K and SD programming looks better than HD on lesser screens. Honestly the HD programming from my cable provider looks as good as the 4K programming get from Premium Netflix, which offers 4K programming. I don’t provide a lot of reviews, but this is for the person that is on the fence...get off. I find myself watching trash movies, “The rans ormers” just for the visual and sound EFx. FYI The TV is connected to a 4K 7.2 (I only have 5 speakers) home theater receiver to complete the cinema experience.
