I chose the Sony A6600 after considering multiple other video options. I was between a camcorder(Sony AX100, Canon XA40 or XA 50 and mirrorless cameras. I ultimately chose the Sony A6600 because it had double the battery life of previous Sony A6000 series cameras and no time limit on video length with minimal/no problems with overheating with hours of use. I am using this to film animals and nature. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Be very aware that there is a fairly high learning curve with a DSLR/Mirrorless type camera to record video compared to a camcorder. I have since added a Sony E PZ 18-105 f4.0 lens and a Sony Remote and that has really helped make filming easy!

I would not have purchased this if not for the sony rep in the store but he was pretty good at his job. He not only showed me why I wanted it but how to use it. Everyone is racing about my pics and it's really a great camera. I'd recommend considering a second lens with a lower aperture to make it more useful but it does 100% of what I expected. It's easy to use, autofocus works perfectly and the pictures are awesome.

I love this camera! I am a content creator and it takes high quality videos and photos. Definitely a great investment if you are a business owner seeking to create quality content. I’ve had the camera just under a month and really like it. The pictures are sharp and it’s easy to use since it’s similar to the a6000.

Great camera. Better than I expected. Friend with Sony 7 series bragged on his full sized chip but thought the A6600 electronics were more updated.

Definitely the best of the A6000’s despite the cost. Battery life alone was worth it so it depends on what your needs are. I have used it for live streaming and/or photos ALMOST every single day for 60 days. The autofocus is spot on!! My favorite lens with it is the 35mm f1.8 fixed lens. Super fast. I recommend the remote control if you can. Clean hdmi out was also crucial to me. No overheating. If you use the dummy battery abs forget it on I think it cuts off in 12 hrs. Zero overheating issues. Of this had usb-C it’s be the best camera in it’s price point. Great build quality as well. A solid feeling cam. (Upgraded from canon M50)

I bought this for streaming and let me tell you it’s the perfect camera for that! The bigger battery means I don’t even have to plug it in while streaming it literally lasts my whole session. The kit lens that comes with it is also a fantastic lens. The 18-135 has great image quality. I can’t wait to try the sigma 1.4 on this bad boy. It doesn’t overheat AT ALL, like all other alpha Sony cameras do. This one has worked flawlessly and I’m really happy I upgraded to this beast of a camera!!!

Amazing camera and holding up to the a6700. Pair it with a great lens and you be taking photos just as good as a full frame camera.

Purchased to replace an older Nikon DSLR, love the form factor and the quality of pictures and videos have been great. I will say the menu is extensive and I'm just now starting to get a handle on all the options. Taking videos have exceeded expectations as I was expecting more rolling shutter based on other reviews. The auto focus has been awesome and the best feature of this camera. The only issue I have is using manual lenses and getting the focus right, an indictment of my skills, not the camera.

I like the size and the weight of the Camera. The pictures that it takes are great. I would highly recommend this Camera.

Great little camera. It's small enough to take on vacation and versatile enough to use for professional photography. I really like that it has interchangeable lenses. There is a bit of a learning curve for beginners but there are plenty of tutorials on youtube.

The a6600 is fairly easy tonuse and produces beautiful images paired with quality glass. I have the 18-135 kit lens and a couple of sigma primes and they all do a good job. Only big gripe is no 4k/60, but if you want to spend a little bit more you can get the a6700 if you really need that.

This was my first professional camera. I love how small it is, but it has all the features you would look for in a professional camera in 2020. 4k 30fps, 24MP , and super fast autofocus. the Steadyshot makes for great videos as it reduces movement! Does not even need a tripod.
