I bought this camera recently and it has lived up to everything I'd read about it. I let my A7iii and A9 go and it will be paired with my A7Riii. It has the speed of my A9 while giving me more 'reach' with the bigger sensor size vs both the other cameras. It uses the same battery as the A7Riii so no need to invest in another battery size. The grip is improved so I will only need the grip extender on the A7Riii. I really am enjoying the color output of the jpegs. The new menu system is, well, new to me but I didn't really have a problem with the old system on the other cameras. I take the attitude that they are what they are and just live with it. Complaining isn't going to change them. The new LCD is nice as it will allow more unique camera positioning I'm sure. I really haven't used it other than flipping it out like the old ones did. My cards from the A9 are working fine in it after formatting in camera. All in all, I'm glad I took the plunge and got this camera. I think with these two, A7V & A7Riii, I'll be set for quite some time. Now it's time to start saving up for some more lenses.

I sold my wonderful well-used Sony A7iii and purchased the A7v. For an A7iii user, the A7v is a lighyear leap. Faster sensor readout speeds, auto-subject recognition, and more megapixels are just a few of the upgrades you will enjoy. I ruminated while before pushing the buy button. My only regret is that I should have purchased the A7v sooner. Thanks.

Coming from an a7Riv, I wanted this camera for a couple of main reasons: better low light performance and autofocus. This camera checked the boxes exceptionally well. The larger individual pixels capture a lot more light, giving me less noise in dimly lit concerts or dance performances. I don’t do any large printing, so the higher resolution of the R model was a waste for me. I naively purchased it thinking larger resolution is always better. Not the case. Aside from the low light excellence, the autofocus completely outshines my previous cameras. The AI features (I assume) help the camera immediately find the subject and lock onto the eyes. It’s amazing how immediate that is. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

The Sony A7 V is simply an incredible camera. Sony really nailed the balance between photo and video performance with this model. The image quality is outstanding—sharp, detailed, and with excellent dynamic range. Colors look natural right out of the camera, and the low-light performance is impressive. The autofocus is one of the best features. It’s extremely fast and reliable, locking onto subjects almost instantly and tracking them flawlessly. Whether shooting photos or video, it gives you a lot of confidence that your shots will be in focus. The body design feels refined and comfortable, with well-placed controls and a solid build. The menu system and touchscreen improvements also make navigating settings much easier than previous generations. For hybrid shooters who want a powerful, reliable camera for both photography and video, the A7 V delivers on every level. It’s a fantastic investment and easily one of the best cameras I’ve used. Highly recommended!

Purchased to replaced my A7IV after nearly 250k shutters. Great AF as always, grip feels great and love the addition of A7RV multi-angular screen. Wish the viewfinder was better/brighter + fingers crosse that Sony provides Opengate in an update. Overall - very happy with this purchase.

I’ve been using the Sony A7V for the past few weeks, and overall, it has been an impressive experience. As someone who enjoys both photography and videography, this camera delivers excellent versatility for a wide range of shooting scenarios. I’ve been using this for a bit now and honestly it exceeded my expectations. The build quality feels solid, everything runs smooth, and the performance is exactly what I needed. What stood out the most is how reliable it is no weird issues, no lag, just straight consistency every time I use it. It’s one of those products you can tell was made with attention to detail. If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it. It does what it’s supposed to do and then some. Definitely a good investment if you’re serious about quality.

So far, I’m very satisfied with this camera. It’s a great hybrid option for both photography and video, with excellent image quality, strong performance, and the reliability I expect from Sony. Sony does not disappoint.

This is my first camera and I’m really enjoying the Sony A7V. The picture quality looks great, photos are sharp, and the autofocus works really well. It feels good in the hand and isn’t hard to use once you start shooting. The flip screen is nice and overall the camera just feels reliable. I’m happy with it and glad I went with the A7V.

Great entry level hybrid camera! Pricey but get some qualities that some of the higher end cameras have! Auto focus and subject detection are next level

Amazing product, I was looking another’s cameras but I choose this one, it was a good decision.

I got this camera knowing it’s exactly what I wanted and needed. I will say however the model I got was a tiny bit scuffed on the little metal ‘support/brace?’ right by where the little triangle rings for the strap go. But it wasn’t really a big deal so I decided to keep it

I’m really thrilled with this camera. It’s lightning fast, the AI autofocus is very impressive, performs beautifully in low light, and is a phenomenal all-rounder for video, sports, wildlife, and general photography. The body size is also relatively nice and compact for what it delivers. I came from the a7cii and this was an upgrade in every conceivable way, aside from perhaps size (although the difference is negligible). The biggest quality of life upgrade is the partially stacked sensor, which delivers a vast improvement for high speed shooting.

This A7M5 has fast AI focus, not that light but ok if you want to get great photos or shoot videos.

I’ve been extremely happy with the Sony Alpha 7 V. The image quality is outstanding, autofocus is incredibly fast and accurate, and the overall performance has exceeded my expectations. My husband uses it for photography and videography, and it has been amazing in every situation. The colors, dynamic range, and low-light performance are excellent. Definitely one of the best camera investments we’ve made. Highly recommended!

I was really excited to pull the trigger on the Sony a7 V because everything I’d read about the image quality, autofocus, and speed sounded legit — and on the whole that part delivered exactly what the hype said: crisp 33 MP stills, fast subject tracking, and a solid all-around performance for photo/video work. It feels well-built in hand and handles everyday shooting really nicely, even in low light.  But the deal-breaker for me was workflow: out of the box, Photoshop wouldn’t recognize the RAW files I was shooting, which was a huge pain since that’s my main editing tool. I tried updating everything and even different import settings, but no dice — meaning I had to return it instead of keeping it in my kit. If you already use software with good Sony RAW support (or can convert files easily), this still might be a great camera, but for my editing workflow it just didn’t click.
