Wanted a two alarm set clock/radio. This one does that. The alarms and time were very easy to set unlike a model I tried from another store. The size is really nice fits well on a small bedside table. The brightness of the numbers can be set at three levels which is something I had never seen on another model and really liked. The volume and channel set dials are inset in such a way that you can't accidentally change them by brushing against them a problem I had with another type of clock/radio. The price was also very reasonable and I am very happy with this purchase.

Have been looking for this product for some time. Easy and intuitive to use controls for setting time, alarms, and radio. Clock has two alarms, useful for two sleepers, or one sleeper who works differing schedules. The display brightness can be set to match room conditions. The clock is a 12 hour/minute display with AM/PM notation. I would have liked to see a 24 hour/military time option, as much of the world is moving in this direction. Decent radio reception if you have a steady tuning hand. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a clock-radio.

This purchase replaces a broken bedroom clock. It has a few nice features, such as ceiling/wall projection, nature sounds, dual weekday/weekend alarms, and small size. However, Sony really missed on the user interface. Most buttons on top barely project above the surface. When the alarm goes off in the morning, it is easy to silence the alarm, but your fingers never very find the alarm reset button. Instead, either the radio starts or the nature sounds play. So you wind up keeping the volume control as low as possible so the radio/nature sounds won't wake my wife. You would also think Sony would let you adjust the volume on the buzzer - nope! The volume only affects the radio and nature sounds. I did not return the clock because it was the best product in this category because I didn't want the clocks that have iPhone docks, etc.

Unfortunately the projected image doesn’t stay on 24/7. It seems to shut off after about 16 hours. While it’s useless during the day anyway why not just leave it on so you so t have to remember to turn it on every night. Or have it set on a timer so it turns on/off automatically. The plus side is that you can adjust the focus depending on if it is projected onto the wall or ceiling. Another issue is that there is no OFF button. The button that is used to turn off the radio or audio effect is labeled “ALARM RESET” ??? Who gets paid to approve this stuff? We shouldn’t have to read the manual to find the Off switch. In other areas, the display is easy to read, some of the nature white noise effects are better than others, and the sound is fine for a tiny box making it just an average get what you pay for device. As for a recommendation, I checked No because there isn’t a “Meh” option. It’s fine for what it is but it’s nothing spectacular. It’s definitely not something you need to run out and get immediately. Honestly, if Best Buy had a better in-store selection of clock radios (COVID not withstanding) I might have purchased something else.

PROS: Works like an alarm clock should. Automatically set the time when I plugged it in - nice. The projection feature was unexpected (as this was a gift). I don't find it terribly useful but it's nifty. Falling to sleep with 15 minutes of ocean sounds that turn off automatically - that's a nice feature. CONS: All the buttons are quite small (the whole alarm clock is sort of tiny to be honest)l. It wasn't intuitive to turn on the radio, set the alarm, or even turn the radio off again! Once you read the manual and figure that out it's smooth sailing. The AM antennae seems like flimsy junk but I don't care about AM anyway. On the whole this will do the job. Probably not what I would have bought myself but this gift should be useful for years to come. Best of all, I don't have to manually update the time to match the time change anymore (since the law changed what date that happened on). This is the main reason for needing a new clock as my old alarm clock updated on the wrong date!

I was looking for an alarm clock radio that has good sound and would not require a lot of counter space. This clock produces great, clear music on AM/FM stations and is small with clean, modern lines. I love it! Excellent find! Available in black or white.

The little radio is nicely styled with buttons making the radio easy to use. The time is displayed on the face along with the alarm time(s)—if one (or both) is (are) set…a nice feature not having to wonder if the alarm is set for the next morning or for what time it is set. The various “nature sounds” are another fascinating feature. They are just enough to put us to sleep—and they can be set to a timer. If by chance I wake up in the middle of the night, the time is displayed on the ceiling—How convenient. That feature can be turned on and off as well. Need to charge a phone? There is a jack for that. All in all, it is a nice little addition to our nightstand. It does what we need and it does it in a neatly styled little package.

Simple, compact easy to see and elegant. I like the projection aspect, never thought that was a big deal but now I use it daily. Dual alarm setting is convenient, and removes the accidental wake up on the weekend if you forget to turn the weekday alarm off. The shape and look make it more appealing that a traditional alarm clock. I also like and use the usb charging port daily for multiple devices, saves the need for a separate plug.

This item was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a simple, yet stylish radio that wouldn't lose the time every time we lose power. This clock radio is all that. We've lost power and the back up battery keeps the clock going. It's a nice, small, sleek design and the sound is perfect for what I wanted. Very happy with this purchase.

My previous clock radio finally gave up the ghost and so I began a search for another Clock radio which offered duel alarms, battery backup and digital tuner. After reading other reviews I found this radio to be highly rated so even though it was a bit more expensive then I had planned on paying I have been happy with the purchase. Also having the ability to charge my phone off the radio and having the wire FM antenna are also pluses. I really haven't used the projector much but it is a nice feature. Only downside is that programming the clock radio is not nearly as intuitive as others and you will definitely need to read the instructions but then again with all the features this radio offers that explains it. I have been happy with this purchase and even the cashier at Best Buy told me he had the same radio and loved his.

Got this for a friend as a Christmas gift. She loves it. Especially the projector feature that projects the time on the ceiling or a wall. Beautiful display and compact design.

We were looking for quite some time for a replacement for our 30 year old vintage GE alarm clock radio. Had a difficult time finding something that could do all things - but this came very close. Main thing you cannot do is pair/play any music you have on a phone or tablet through this unit. However, if you are looking for something with a small footprint that can charge your smartphone every night, has an am/fm radio with digital tuner AND has the ability to have 2 separate alarms with weekday/weekend settings this should work for you. The projection feature and nature sounds are very nice bonuses and work well, but weren't looking for them. Also features battery backup w/ a lithium coin battery and auto time set w/ DST. You can vary the display brightness (cool blue) or turn off completely if desired.

I've bought many a clock radio through the years, and this one is near perfect to me; in fact, I've bought several of them. It's easy to use, very simple to preset stations, and to find the correct button in the dark, if I don't want to turn on the light function which can be set from bright, to dim, to off for totally dark. It also comes with nature sounds. The numbers are bright, large and very easy to read. The feature I really like is the function that displays the time on the ceiling or wall, wherever you like it. It's perfect when waking up in the middle of the night and seeing what time it is. Great sound, alarms and sleep timer too. It's a great clock radio that I can find no fault with, at a good price! This is the one you need!

I love this clock!!! I particularly love the time projection feature. To read the time, I just move my head a little to look at the wall. When I first bought the clock, I thought the ambient light was a little too bright for me,so I placed a small piece of window tinting film over the numbers and the projection port, now it's perfect. The little piece of window tinting film cuts the ambient light from the display and from the time projection. I like my room dark, so what I end up with is a dark room with red numbers floating on the wall. I love it!! Also, I also love the option to choose how bright the number display is. I get 3 levels of display brightness and also I can turn the display totally off. The reception is excellent, so I get clear, no static FM radio music to wake up to.

I've used many clock radios in the past. These days many people use their phones as alarm clocks. But, I subscribe to this standard: 'The right tool for the right job.' For bedside night table, this is the clock radio to choose. It's a bit pricey but, the sound quality is surprisingly good for the size of the speaker. The dual-alarms work perfectly also. But the most useful item is the one you'd think is an unnecessary add-on: That is the ability to project the time onto a wall or ceiling. It works perfectly and is very helpful when you don't want to strain to see the clock in the middle of the night. Numbers are easily readable, but not too large or bright to be distracting. The 'cube' is small enough to fit on any night table without taking up much room. Variable dimming features and fairly easy to setup. Highly recommended.

I needed a clock radio/alarm for the bedroom. The small square size was perfect for the headboard. Although it is small, the display is large enough and has different brightness settings for the clock. The ceiling display is in red and easy to read even without my glasses. This was a very good item for my needs.

compact size; good sound, decent speaker; no impossible-to-set presets; easy alarm; off button too small and recessed (why?); tuner and volume dials could be larger and more visible. I bought and returned 3 other clock radios before I found this one. a good buy.

Perfect in every way - almost. This Sony Alarm Clock Radio has many great features that are clearly displayed on the box. Not sure why so many reviewers mention projecting the time to display on a wall or ceiling. I won't be using this function. I did try it out & it is easy to set up. I previously had a Sony clock radio, so I am familiar with the setup sequences. Each button has more than one function, so set up is not that obvious at first. The instructions that come with it are clear enough. Other reviews do not mention the RADIO; most focus on it as an alarm clock. I ended up calling Sony to ask about the radio quality. The radio works GREAT for talk radio. I like to wake up to BBC World Service broadcast by NPR at 5 a.m. The sound comes on very quietly at first, gradually building up to the volume level that you preset. A nice feature so you do not get a rude awakening. One of the brightness settings is OFF, so you can eliminate the 'light pollution' at night. The display comes on automatically with the alarm. The display is clear with the alarm time(s) shown as well. The time is automatically set for EST & self corrects for DST. Can't get better than that.It comes with a backup battery in case you lose power. Time can be displayed in 12 or 24 hour format. The size is compact with a small footprint. This is good & bad. The drawback is that there are many buttons & they are quite small. Certain ones have a raised dot in the center, so you can navigate by touch. Labels in words/symbols are on the buttons themselves - black on black or above them - white & very small. These are hard to see, so you just have to get to know your way around them. If you want to wake up to nature sounds, you can do that too. I have had this clock radio for a few weeks & waited to write this review until I tried out the USB recharging function. This is very handy to have. It charges up my MP3 player very quickly; far faster than my laptop. Unlike my laptop, I can plug it in anytime to recharge it. The Sony was a bit more expensive than other brands with similar features. I was replacing a Sony World Band clock radio; I trust the brand so went with the Sony. I made the right choice & loving it.

This one replaced an older Sony that had terrible audio quality. The sound from this one is much better. The display is bright and clear, and it can be dimmed if so desired. There are two different alarms for, well, two different people. It's inexpensive, and has an included backup battery. My only complaint is that the controls aren't as intuitive as they might be - you'll need to keep the instructions handy until you get used to this product. Overall, though, it shouldn't be too difficult except for those with very limited patience.

This clock is great! It takes up little room on the stand, is easy to use and the projection of time is a great feature. I have a bad neck and being able to see the time projected on the ceiling without having to crane my neck to see the clock is great! I also bought one for a friend.
