I love this camera so much! I took it out West with me to Dubois, WY for a snowmobiling trip and it worked fantastically. I got over 3 hours out of it per day. Everything turned out so crisp and clear. It also takes amazing pictures. If you're thinking about getting this camera, get it already! It's worth every penny!

I did lots of reviews and comparisons between this and the go pro, sony wins! Made the purchase and do not regret it. Superior colors, image stabilization and the audio is unmatched. A camcorder cradle with an LCD screen can even be purchased. Buy the dive housing. You will not regret this Sony!

Sony has better picture quality, and much more stable than GoPro.

I had my old AS20. I bought AS200. I love it. It's better than AS20! I took it with me. I tried to use it. Wow. The image quality is excellent and the image stabilization is way better. Don't buy AS20. It is old. You need to buy AS200 !! Great Price.

More affordable than comparable equipment and very user friendly.

This thing is awesome, has a great field of view and extremely easy to use, straight out of the box. Still pictures, recording video everything works amazing. I will definitely recommend this to everyone I know.

Bought this as a gift for my daughter for Christmas and she loves it. We were a little skeptical at first as the first few times she used it around the house the video was not that sharp, but she was hooked after using it outdoors. It takes great looking video outside and the video is pretty smooth as long as you have the camera mounted to something or keep your hands pretty still if you are holding it. Would definitely buy again and recommend to anyone as a first action camera.

This camera has a great image quality, the sound is great when not in the underwater case. Overall l’m happy with it.

I originally went to Best Buy with the intention of picking up a GoPro Hero 4 Silver. I was persuaded by a Sony rep to look at the features, pros, cons and comparisons between the devices. The NFC, video stabilization, and image quality all won me over despite the lack of accessory options and plain LCD screen. I brought the camera home and made sure I read the manual up and down a dozen times, watched open box reviews, and comparisons. After figuring everything out I attempted a recording...NO SOUND. Audio recording is turned on and still no sound is recorded. Also, the usability of the LCD screen, buttons and menus is really not user friendly. Working in and out of menus is more of a chore than anything and it's taking a step back into the 90s like you're using an old school Casio with no backlight. You can't hook up an external camera using the water resistant case that is provided, you'll need to purchase a separate case to be able to open the bottom flap to plug in the 3.5mm mic jack. The GPS feature only works with the separately sold "wrist viewer." Lastly, if you get this camera, be prepared to purchase a 64gb MicroSD card class 10 or above with a 80MBPS read/write rate. PROS: Steady Shot, Image Quality, Wind Noise Reduction (If it records your audio), NFC android compatible, WIFi compatible CONS: Size is larger than a gopro, the orientation of the device makes forward mounting awkward, Bottom flap doesn't open with provided case, Lack of accessories for practical mounting I'll be returning this and picking up a GoPro instead

The AS200V isn't much of an improvement from the AS100V as far as normal everyday use and standard resolution. There is a new annoying option when you go through the menus called "loop" that should probably be put somewhere else. It now takes an extra step just to shut down or record. Overall, if you've never owned the AS100V, you'll be very happy with the AS200V. If you're a previous owner of an AS100V, I would suggest getting another AS100V as your secondary camera. Just my humble opinion. :)

I bought this to record my sons wrestling matches to not use my phone memory and it it great. It also takes great pictures too.

We use this camera to capture video from a moving platform. It has excellent image stabilization and superb video quality.

I used the Sony AS200 HD mounted to my helmet to record a motorcycle trip through Big Bend recently. The quality was superior to my GoPro2, which I expected. I love the increased frame rate, the Zeiss lens and the image stabilizer. The external mic jack (which I needed in my application) really completes the package. The controls are also more user friendly and intuitive as compared to the GoPro. I used an external mic, an AudioTechnica ATR3350, so I cannot comment on the audio quality of the built-in mic, but the audio I recorded was spot-on. I used the accessory Sony skeleton frame velcroed to my helmet to hold the camera; that way, I could access the bottom door to attach the external microphone. I saw some reviews about Sony's skeleton frame, citing durability worries, but let me assure you it held the camera fine over multiple days of motorcycle riding of sometimes rough highways at high speeds...it worked great for me. I controlled the camera while on the bike by using the Sony LVR2 wrist remote, which was awesome as I was able to verify the camera's point-of-view after mounting the bike. A great package.
