Customers recognize the sound quality and comfortable fit of the headphones. However, some find the price to be higher than they would like, and there are concerns about the lack of bass and overall comfort.

This product is well built and fits my needs as something to use while mowing and weed-eating large yard.

Poor Performance, Awkward Use

My fault for not reading reviews before purchasing. Similar to another reviewer, I had a $40 pair of Sony in-the-ear headphones with a rubber piece which fit over the ear. It was small, discrete, snug on the ear, and sounded great when listening to everything from Classical to Rock for the price. They broke after nearly 2 years where I have to gingerly hold my phone/MP3 player or lose sound out of 1 of the ears.
Bought this pair about 3 days ago. Sound quality is fair at best -- it's better than my wife's $9.99 Gummi's. Tried everything from all 4 ear piece sizes, even matching similar sizes to my old pair. Did not help improve bass and overall quality seemed almost washed out.
The worst part for me was the fit. Once on, these felt very snug and weren't bad on the treadmill. However, the act of putting these on and off was just terrble. You have to readjust the around-the-ear piece nearly every time you put them on, even if it's just for a moment that you removed them. As you pull tighter on them to form a snug fit, the bottom piece of the adjuster is fairly stiff and pressed ever so slightly on my jaw. Not painful, just annoying feeling.
Highly disappointed in this. Returning it this upcoming weekend. I do not recommend this purchase.

Terrible sound

My cheap iPod headphones have finally broke and I've been searching for a good quality headphone to wear while mountain biking, road biking, and lifting at the gym. Every "high end" headphone I've tried falls out if I do so much as blink my eyes the wrong way. I finally found these and thought they were the perfect solution. The fit of these headphones felt good and secure. However, once I plugged them into my iPod, I thought I must have been missing something. Is there a bass knob because surely it's all the way down? Nope, this headphone does not produce any kind of bass whatsoever. I'm not at all a music snob, but I like to at least be able to hear more than guitar and snare drum. I quickly packed these back up and exchanged them for the Bose IE2, which I was hesitant about due to no loop around the ear as added security. What a huge difference. The Bose produce excellent sound and hold tight in my ear with no discomfort. If you're looking for quality sport headphones, skip these and go with the Bose. Your ears will thank you.

Horrid Sound

I had pair of Sony Headphones that I bought a few years ago for approx. $50 dollars... Sounded Amazing, but I recently ran then over with my car... Anyway bought these assuming the sound would be similar and also compensate for my only complaint with my other heardphones which was falling constantly out of my ear during workouts. Turns out these are more expensive but that sound terrible. Tried changing the setting on my IPOD and there is no overcoming the lack of bass. I am a auidiophile and I do listen to music a lot of double bass and drums so bass is something I must have in a headphone. If that's what you looking for don't buy these. I'm confident cheaper headphones with the same quality sound can be obtained so I would not recommend these to anyone...

what's with all the poor reviews?? I ordered the sony xba-s65 earphones and picked them up next day at best buy. I love em!!!
Sound quality is outstanding and very, very comfortable.. I had doubts when I ordered these because of high price but after using them and seeing how light they feel when attached to ear I think price is worth getting best quality. Sound is perfect and fit is easily adjustable so fit is perfect. So pleased, I'm ordering some for wife as present.

Nice workout headphones

Overall...these are a good set of workout headphones. Hiwever, they really do fall short on the bass department. I did try on every size of ear inserts that Son included (4) with the headohones and after finding ones that wouldn't fall out, the bass sounded fine at best, but after about 2 mins, the earpiece would start to slide out and the bass would leave with it. The mids and highs are spot on! I think Sony just needs to address the bass and the slipping out issue with these and they would have a true winner.

These are ok, but not to expensive. They work decent enough and I wouldn't be upset if they don't last that long, hopefully ill get a year out of them.

Earbuds fall out of ears everytime you blink!

I bought these earphones to use during exercise, as they suggest that is what they are for. After trying every size of earbud that comes in the package, the speakers will not stay secure in my ears for more than 15-30 seconds. The strap that goes around the ear keep the speaker near the ear but earbud will not stay positioned in the ear socket to achieve descent sound quality. Shorty after starting to exercise, like within 30 seconds, the earbuds just pop out and remain dangling inside your ear until you push them back in place; repeat the process 30 seconds later. Cannot believe I wasted $80.00 on these junk earphones!

I have $10 headphones that have better sound quality than these headphones - They did not fit on my ear as well as I was hoping for being a rather aggressive runner. I would have kept the headphones if the sound quality was $75 worth or they stayed in my ear as expected. And too long of a cord.

I tried out daily for nine days then returned. Awkward to put on and adjust. I tried all 5 ear tip sizes and could not find one that would stay in place during workouts ( mostly during elliptical). Cord is too long and slack adjuster cumbersome. Not much bass and too much treble.

These have to be the worst headphones I ve ever used.I returned them next day.Everything lacks bass, treble, mids, highs and lows.I ve got them for my daily workouts but could not stand even 5 mins and put on my 10 dollars worh iluv headphones which I always carry in my gym bag just in case.Sony is known for its quality products but not this one.The sound was so low and I even borrowed my friend's mp 3 player to make . Just do not even give a chance, cause u will return it next day like I did.

I was hoping to like these more but they sound like any other inexpensive earbuds. In this case the Sony name does not necessarily translate to a great product.

Worst head phones ever purchased. Impossible to stay securely in ears, despite trying different sized buds. The hard plastic just above buds broke in half on both sides after 5 weeks. Chatted with Sony e-support where after 45 minutes of hold, they told me they did not have any warranty information due to it being a 2012 product, however doubted they would be covered by warranty. Total waste of time. Next called customer service at Sony, same thing, connected with person whose english was unintelligible and had no information regarding warranty. Suffice it to say, will never purchase a Sony product again. Thank god for companies like Apple. Great products, great customer service.

These were on sale, and being Sony I thought they can't be that bad. WOW!, was I wrong. The sound coming out of these was unacceptable. I had friends listen to them and they agreed. I now know why they were on sale, to try and get rid of the stock! Look elsewhere for a good pair of workout headphones.
