This player is easy to get set-up and running. It has a small compact design that can be fit almost anywhere. Great picture performance.

simple to install and to use. allow me to convert a regular TV into a smart TV and access the internet , face book Netflix, amazon premier and others.

BD player is excellent. Plays new and old BD extremely well. Loads quickly and the size was perfect for my fireplace mantel.

This little blu ray player is top notch. Smart tech, does 3D, plays and runs perfectly. Wouldn't get any other brand.

Having all Sony products (Bravia TV, Sony AV Amp), the device has good compatibility with the others. Streaming from my phone (Xperia series) is supported well, although there is a slight delay (likely from a weak Wifi connection). The Blu Ray quality is great, especially in 3D. However, the menu and apps on the device have a laggy UI (independant of an internet connection), and although it resembles the new PS4 layout, it does not transition smoothly. If a software update could fix this, then it would be error free.

This Blu Ray player is easy to use and so compact it takes up very little room.

Easy setup, plays all movies have not had any issues. Has all the apps and can connect a usb without any issues.

Purchased this DVD player for damaged one. This one is simple to use and very compact. Fits in a small space.

Replaced my previous Samsung Blu-Ray player that was clicking constantly. After reading many reviews, I went with this Sony. Good: start up speed, picture quality. Bad: no LCD on the front to monitor how movie time, you have to use the on-screen display. We like to break for popcorn about half way through movies. I haven't tested the 3-D yet. It is NOT an upcoverting device - I'm using it on a 65" high def Panasonic plasma TV, so don't need upconverting.

My primary application was for flawless wireless streaming and this player does it. Great price from Best Buy.

Works good for the price. No issues setting up for installing. Interface to input letters/numbers could be easier to use.

The Sony is working well. We are able to watch our selected DVDs. Quality is good. Size is nice and compact

The BDP-S5500 is another solid Bluray player from Sony. The outside is small and compact with a flip down front panel. The outer shell of the player is aluminum, so its looks very nice. The remote is also very small and compact, a nice change from all the other larger remotes that populate my home. The GUI is very nice compared to others and makes navigating the apps very intuitive. I got the unit on sale and was a very nice buy for the price.
