Excellent Sound system

The subwoofer can get pretty loud but it elevates your movie watching experience. The setup was easy on this but it does require you to install the app, but the app isn’t needed after you finish setting up the sound system. For the price I’d definitely recommend this product, especially if you have a moderate sized space that you watch your TV in.

Solid 3.1.2 Setup-Even Better on Sale

For that price, it’s an excellent audio system for my second Sony Bravia 7 TV. I’m not sure I would have purchased it at full price, it seems a bit expensive for a 3.1.2 setup. Rears cannot be added to this. It was very easy to set up and configure using Sony’s Bravia Connect app. There are enough features and settings to customize the sound to your liking. The wireless subwoofer packs a punch as well. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase, especially for the price I paid.

Awesome sound system

Really good sound but missing features

The app has some settings to allow height and distance customization which really helps the Dolby Atmos shine. However, this is not a WiFi soundbar and if you use Spotify (like I do) you cannot stream directly to the bar unless you use Bluetooth. You can open the app on your TV or streaming device, but then you are required to keep your tv on while listening to music. I ended up returning this for that reason as well as the fact that the subwoofer would briefly disconnect when changing the volume. It came right back on, but this was fairly annoying.

If you ever reconsider, our BRAVIA Theater Bar 8 or 9 models both feature built-in Wi-Fi and direct streaming to meet your needs.

Great Sound Quality

Good but expensive
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace my Bose soundbar because I wanted more base to go with with my brand new Samsung Oled TV. This connected seamlessly good base adjusment good sound for movies and games. The quality is good however it is kind of expensive I could have spent a couple of hundred more and got a New Bose with a Base unit so maybe next time I think I will go that route. I would recommend this but maybe research others befor making decision.

great sound bar but voice dialogue is lacking

It produces incredibly loud sound and offers a somewhat immersive experience when playing Dolby Atmos, despite its limitations as a 3.1.2 system. The subwoofer impressed me greatly; it was powerful enough to make my furniture and sofa vibrate moderately. It’s a great addition for low-end frequencies and sounds heard in movies and shows. My only complaint is that it’s challenging to hear dialogue at volumes below 30 for the soundbar. Regardless of the sound field I choose or using the voice mode option to enhance dialogue, I couldn’t find the perfect balance of my liking so i returned it.

Pretty seamless using the Sony app. I really enjoy the center speaker. Dialogue comes through very clear. Subwoofer also does a good job. The 2 upfiring speakers shine when watching dolby atmos content. Unless you want to pay a $1000 or more this sytem would be very hard to beat.

However, we sincerely apologize that you are now experiencing issues with the audio cutting in and out at the beginning of commercials or programs. This is certainly not the intended experience, especially with a Sony BRAVIA setup.

Easy Bravia Connect

Bass isn’t as deep and booming as the previous but overall happy with the upgrade. Connection was very simple but does require Sony App. Just about everything does now so not a big deal.

Here is the information you need regarding your setup:
The remote's primary functions with your Sony 50" X85J TV are typically handled through HDMI Control (CEC), allowing you to use your TV remote for basic soundbar functions like power on/off and volume control.
To ensure this is working:
-The soundbar must be connected to your TV's HDMI eARC/ARC port.
-The "Control for HDMI" setting must be enabled on your soundbar. You should find this in the soundbar's settings, typically under HDMI Settings.
The dedicated soundbar remote is mainly for advanced soundbar features (like sound modes or detailed settings) that are not part of the basic CEC controls. You generally will not be able to use the soundbar remote for full TV control.
Regarding your second concern, you can connect your WH-L600 headphones to your X85J TV either via HDMI or using the headphone cable.
Important Note: Your TV cannot output sound simultaneously through both the soundbar and the headphones. You will need to select one output at a time.
