I purchased this Boombox during the recent fires in Northern California. The two reasons I purchase were for AM/FM radio and Bluetooth.

I rate the Best Buy buying experience 5 stars (purchased online, picked up in the store) however... and though I didn’t anticipate high-fidelity audio from such a small package, I did expect the sound quality to be much better from Sony, and their “mega bass” falls far short. This tinny sounding audio thing reminds me of blaring midrange radios from the early ‘80s. There’s hardly any treble and little bass. It almost sounds like the frequency response curve of the transducers is limited to the vocal range only. Bluetooth works ok (if you buy this, press and hold the Bluetooth button a few seconds or you’ll think that feature will never connect to your device). Switchology ergonomics are a bit clumsy to boot. There are surprisingly few manufacturers producing a portable AM/FM/CD w/Bluetooth capability stereo so without much competition, and probable low demand for such devices, I guess I shouldn’t have had higher expectations.

Bought for my mother as an early Christmas gift and so far so good. She loves it and has used it daily to play Christmas cds easily. Looks great too

Second Generation of a Sony BOOM BOX of which I own original version (which included a Cassette Player) Sound quality is ***** though area of use is limited to Decks, Porches or Areas of similar proximity... added features over original version{which still, after at least 10 years continues to serve me well} are USB & BLUETOOTH / GOOD "BANG 4 the BUCK"

Love having a radio/cd player in my bathroom - listen to news-music. Great sound, has been a very reliable replacement for one I’d had for years.

The boombox works as advertised with no issues. Could be a tad louder but has very good sound and doesn't distort when turned all the way up.. We used the Bluetooth with an iphone, ipod. Galaxy S5 and a lg g3 with no problems from any device. Also used it with a cd-r and mp3's, so far it has been flawless. Like I said it could, e a little louder for out doors.

Great little boombox. I was surprised on how good the sound was. It was better than the Sony boombox I had bought over 10 years ago. This one is nice and versatile. I love the fact that I can use is as a bluetooth speaker and get nice stereo sound. Has a good radio tuner too. Highly recommended.

The boom box is small easy to use and come with lots of features

My previous "Boom Box" was over ten years old. Showing it's age, so went looking for a new improved model. This is it. Easy to use, works perfectly, even has more fancy features than I really need, but what the heck. It's just......great. Nicely sized, perfect fit for my home office.

The unit is compact and does all the things it claims. The sound is not great even in the mega bass mode, but it is an inexpensive desktop unit if you just need some music in your office.

I recently purchased this Sony Boombox for my wife and She loves it. It is easy to use and sounds very good for it's size. She can listen to her CD's while she is doing chores around the house or the yard. She can also listen to Her favorite fm radio stations. This was an excellent buy

Good Sound, but even with "MEGA Bass" could use a deeper base. Good choice for the money. Cd Is nice. Solid construction.

Wish there better options available in terms of combo players(CD/Radio/AC+Battery/digital) maybe some that were a littler bigger and louder. This very nice though, if you want to reintroduce old CDs to your kids.
